SeoMoz Keyword Tool
-
Hello All,
Ive been using the SeoMoz Keyword tool but have a quick question. Im working on a newer site with a DA according to OSE of 35. Im combing through keywords to rank. Although competition is very high I have found a few holes. According to the Keyword tool in SeoMoz a few keywords Im looking at are roughly 50%. Would it be to difficult to rank for this type of term?
Ive been using a combination of Google Trends, Adwords keyword tool, and ubersuggest, to try and see whats available. Does anyone use different tools?
Thank you

Its really strange, some pages that Ive setup in the past rank on page 1 for what I though were low comp. keywords, yet the tool says they are 50%?
-
50% is still pretty difficult i would suggest you run some other keywords to get a feel for the tool

Is there another site other than keyword planner that will give me results for 'Recruitment Agency North West'? cheers M

How to leverage keyword research on-page.
I'm a newbie and I'm a little embarrassed to ask this question, but here it is. Let's say I've done my keyword research and have 200 keywords. How do I use that for on-page/site optimization? Or do I not use it for on-page/site optimization? I guess I'm unclear about the relationship of keyword research and on-page/site optimization. Thanks.

Analysing more than 5 keywords?
I have the habit of analysing 80 to 100 keywords per topic and I really do not see myself exporting 20 5-lines Excel sheets and then merging them before getting to analysis itself. Is there a way around this (very strict) limitation?

How to pick keywords while making your site coherent?
My company is in the service industry, in particular we create databases for companies to use in house. Therefore, when I think of what we do, I think "database solutions". We have 3 different types of services/approaches we take which I created keywords for those. Through research I found that people don't look for database solutions, instead they look for the type of database i.e. "inventory database" or "database developer" or the technology used. I understand 'funneling' of a site from general to specific so I understand how to deal with the first type of keyword. But what about the second. Having my general database page optimized for 'database developer' would be awkward. Specially in the anchor text in my menu link. Any suggestions? Common strategies used for this type of scenario? Is it ok to still have the internal link be 'database solutions' but then optimize the page for 'database developer'? I'm a newbie struggling with keyword research/selection so any insight would be much appreciated!
