Keyword targeting & differentiation between similar keywords

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around keyword targeting when two keywords are very similar.
Here's my dilemma, lets just I sell ACE brand Widgets
I'm doing well with “ACE Widgets” queries but not “ACE”
How do I fix this since “ACE” is already all throughout the results page & supposedly anchor text is playing a less and less significant role in link relevancy so just getting links with “ACE” as the anchor text wouldn't really help (I wouldn't think)

Are you clearing your catch before checking you rankings? Are you logged onto your google account?
I like to check my keywords in a browser that I usually dont use, I make sure to be logged off of any Google account and I clear all my browser data. This way I allways get the accurate SERP.
If this is not the case then you are experiencing "the google dance" which is vary rare. I would guess the browser has stored data showing you personalized results.

Hey, Alright well "Stickley" and "Stickley Furniture" are the KW's and it's as bit confusing becausae Google has been switching around which page it's displaying for these queries. Sometimes it shows our homepage www.sheffieldfurniture. com and sometimes it shows our stickley page www.sheffieldfurniture. com/Stickley/stickley.html
As a result our rankings are jumping around a bit too. They've been jumping around for the last few weeks on an almost daily basis it seems. I also realized there are vastly different results & results pages for each query depending on which browser I use...is that normal? I'm signed out of google with each.
Links have been intentionally broken to help this page not come up in SERP's for our brand name.

Do you have a specified page for ACE? www.BrandName.com/ACE
How does you link profile look? What are the anchored external links? Where are they coming from? And what are they linking to?

No Follow & Rel Canon for Product Filters
Our site uses Canonicals to address duplicate content issues with product/facet filtering. example: www.mysite.com/product?color=blue Relcanon= www.mysite.com/product However, our site is also using no follow for all of the "filters" on a page (so all ?color=, etc. links are no follow). What is the benefit of utilizing the no follow on the filters if we have the rel canon in place? Is this an effort to save crawl budget? Pages Fighting Over Keywords
Hi Guys, Just after some general advice. Since manipulation of keywords through links is no longer a feasible way of ranking these days, I was wondering how people got round the issue of pages bouncing for the same keyword or Google deciding that a blog post is a better signal rather than your service page. For instance if you are doing local and national search, how do you stop the local keywords ranking for national pages, without diluting the local signals. I have some ideas:- stronger internal linking to the page review content But obviously redirects or canonical won't be a good solution as I still want these pages to exist in their own right. Using meta keywords
Hello, I've read conflicting opinions regarding the use of meta keywords. I know Matt Cutts stated a few years ago that Google does not use them as a ranking signal but many still use them. This raises a few questions: 1. Is there any reason to still use meta keywords? 2. Isn't it just a way to let your competitors know what you're optimizing for? 3. How do other search engines treat meta keywords? Thanks!

Keyword Cannibalization?
I am not quite sure I totally understand the concept of keyword cannibalization. I have seen the SEO Moz Snowboard example... I tried to apply the concept but the on-page ranking sees a category page of mine with KW cannibalization. By the way, I still get an A for the targeted KW. I have an e-commerce site, one category page targets 'wool sweaters' and a product page for example is : 'chunky-knit wool turtleneck sweater' (there are 8 products total in this category all are flagged Cannibalizers). I didn't think KWC would be an issue...ranking seems to be effected judging ranking for other category pages w/o KW cannibalization issues. So, my question I guess is KW cannibalization really a big deal? What is taken into account when judging KW cannibalization. Title Tags? URLs? Thanks in advance

KW Targeted Domain Format For Local Biz
My brother owns a laundromat...Im putting together his site.....I am targetinga small geographic area obviously.... Which domain is more seo friendly for the kw north brunswick nj laundromat? northbrunswicknjlaundromat.com north-brunswick-nj-laundromat.com northbrunswick-nj-laundromat.com northbrunswicknj-laundromat.com I doubt there is a huge difference between any of them and my first instict was to go with "northbrunswicknjlaundromat" but it seems it may be too wordy to not use hyphens.
