Hi all,

I'll soon be doing some work for a worldwide company who are launching a new site. The new site is a near clone of another of their sites in another country.

Obviously I'll need to make use of rel="alternate" hreflang="x" on both sites. I've read all the Google documentation etc but was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a few sites which are currently implementing the tag successfully.

Hopefully you already read John Doherty's post about the hreflang as he successfully tested the hreflang.

General questions about implementing hreflang using XML sitemap

I created another thread regarding hreflang sitemaps. However, this one is more general and doesn't cover multiple sitemaps for different localizations so I think it's reasonable creating a new thread. We are trying to implement hreflang using XML sitemap. We have localized content for a few countries, but only 1/3 of the content is 'duplicate' localized content. How should this be presented in the sitemap? Can we have some urls with hreflang-tags and some without? Also, where should this be located? In the usual sitemap file at site.com/sitemap.xml or should we create a different sitemap site.com/hreflang.xml where we just paste all hreflang-info? And if it should be in /hreflang.xml - can we have the same URL twice (in both current sitemap and hreflang sitemap)?

Help Setting Up 301 Redirects from Coldfusion Site to Wordpress Site.

I have created a new website and need to redirect all of the previous pages to the new one. The old website was built in coldfusion and the new site is built in wordpress. One of the pages I'm trying to redirect is www.norriseal.com/products.cfm to http://norrisealwellmark.com/products/. Site dropped from SERP

Hello, I've been ranking a site for the last 5 months with good success, ranking on the first page for a high traffic keyword. In the beginning of September however, my site completely dropped out of the SERPs for several of those keywords yet my site was still indexed and there was no penalty applied to my site via search console. I would assume this maybe because of the update during the time.My site came back again a week later and it was ranking much higher on the first page (#2). Today, I just checked the SERPs and my site is now gone again. It was there this morning but now as of two hours ago it is gone, as well as one of my main competitors. My site is still indexed and no penalties via search console. Does anyone know what causes these types of issues? Im assuming my site will come back in a week or so with hopefully the same or better ranking, but when I have disruptions like this it really hurts my organic traffic. Any input is appreciated. Site not getting indexed by googlebot.

The following question is in regards to http://footeschool.org/. This site is not getting indexed with google(googlebot) This only happens when the user agent is set googlebot. This is a recent issue. We are using DNN as CMS. Are there any suggestion to help resolve this issue?

Should we dump the https from a client site?

We inherited a site that has both http and https. No e-commerce or data transfer...just html. Should we dump the https certificate? I think it might be causing issues with indexing and possible duplicate content. The https site has a certificate warning message...not good. The URL is www.charlottemechanical.com

Basic Multi-Site Question

Newb question. We run a site in multiple cities under the same domain. Often times one city will provide content that is "syndicated" to other cites. For example, here is the master post: http://www.styleblueprint.com/food-and-entertaining/kale-salad-quick-healthy/ The content will also show up in the following domains: http://atlanta.styleblueprint.com/food-and-entertaining/kale-salad-quick-healthy/ http://birmingham.styleblueprint.com/food-and-entertaining/recipes/kale-salad-quick-healthy/ Should I be marketing the posts in Atlanta and Birmingham as "no index, no follow" for SEO purposes? On-Site Sitemaps - Guidance Required

Hi, I am looking to find good examples of on-site sitemaps. We already submit our XML sitemap regularly through GWMT but I now wonder if we still need an on-site sitemap, as we have about 30 static pages and 300+ Wordpress blogs which in a sense makes that a spammy page as it has too many links and a higher than average keyword density. The reason I am looking for good examples is that I want to create a basic on-site sitemap that aids navigation but is styled to look ok as well. The Solution I have in mind: mydomain.com/link-example-one.php
mydomain.com/link-example-two.php
mydomain.com/liink-example-ten.php mydomain.com/blog then links to my 300 WP blogs, broken down into chunks navigated by using breadcrumbs. Will Google crawl this ok or should I stick to the current format listing ALL posts on one page? Thanks

How to setup tumblr blog.site.com to give juice to site.com

Is it possible to get a subdomain blog.site.com that is on tumblr to count toward site.com. I hoped I could point it in webmaster tools like we do www but alas no. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
