High level of 404 client errors
-
My clients website is an e-commerce based website, where customers can go on and buy products etc from the website. I placed the website onto seomoz and it cam eback with something like 18,000 errors, mostly 404 client errors, when I checked to see what the URL was from, it was a summary of an order to a client who just purchased something from the website, this was the case for alot of the errors.
So i am wondering, will this harm the site's optimisation or any other part of it? and how can I get rid of these errors?
Many Thanks
Charlene

Hi Charlene-
It sounds like the pages that are delivering the 404 errors are not something you want to be crawled or indexed. Consider placing these pages in your robots.txt file or using rel noindex on them.
Be careful listening to my advice at the moment. I haven't seen your content on the discussed pages, so you need to be 100% sure about what you are doing before changing anything.

Moz and HubSpot SSL - crawl error?
I'm getting an error message when Moz tries to crawl my site, however when I check in Google Search Console, they return no errors. Our site is hosted on HubSpot. Is Moz still having trouble crawling HubSpot sites that have enabled their SSL? I read an article that this should have been corrected in early 2017, but I'm getting an error.

Seo moz has only crawled 2 pages of my site. Ive been notified of a 403 error and need an answer as to why my pages are not being crawled?
SEO Moz has only crawled 2 pages of my clients site. I have noticed the following. A 403 error message screaming frog also cannot crawl the site but IIS can. Due to the lack of crawling ability, im getting no feed back on my on page optimization rankings or crawl diagnostics summary, so my competitive analysis and optimization is suffering Anybody have any idea as to what needs to be done to rectify this issue as access to the coding or cms platform is out of my hands. Thank you

Has any on else experienced a spike in crawl errors?
Hi, Since the last time our sites were crawled in SEOmoz they are all showing a spike in Errors. (Mainly duplicate page titles and duplicate content). We haven't changed anything to the structure of the sites but they are all using the same content management system. The image is an example of what we are witnessing for all our sites based on the same system. Is anyone else experiencing anything similar? or does anyone know of any changes that SEOmoz has implemented which may be affecting this? Thanks in advance, Anthony. WzdQV WzdQV WzdQV.jpg WzdQV.jpg

Duplicate pages with canonical links still show as errors
On our CMS, there are duplicate pages such as /news, /news/, /news?page=1, /news/?page=1. From an SEO perspective, I'm not too worried, because I guess Google is pretty capable of sorting this out, but to be on the safe side, I've added canonical links. /news itself has no link, but all the other variants have links to "/news". (And if you go wild and add a bunch of random meaningless parameters, creating /news/?page=1&jim=jam&foo=bar&this=that, we will laugh at you and generate a canonical link back to "/news". We're clever like that.) So far so good. And everything appears to work fine. But SEOMoz is still flagging up errors about duplicate titles and duplicate content. If you click in, you'll see a "Note" on each error, showing that SEOMoz has found the canonical link. So SEOMoz knows the duplication isn't a problem, as we're using canonical links exactly the way they're supposed to be used, and yet is still flagging it as an error. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it just a bug in SEOMoz?

Historical error info on SEOMoz?
Is it possible to get a report of errors that were on a site back in April? Does SEOMoz keep that data available? There was a big decline in the number of errors on one of my sites and I'm trying to go back and see what it was. --Steve
