Analytics: How to see how many uniques viewed over X amount of pages in period
-
Hey guys, anyone any idea how to do the following in google analytics? I need a little help, I am looking at my traffic for a given month, I can see how many unique users visit over X amount of times, but can instead of visits, can I see how many unique users I had that looked at X amount of pages or more? Appreciate all help!!

Thanks again runnerkik,
I have added your custom report and tried to set up the advance segment, however, I appear to have something wrong as it is returning 0 data. Please take a look at the attached screenshot...

Yeah, I'm afraid this isn't something you'll be able to just view with a default GA installation.
With some custom code and server side logic, it's certainly possible. The modifications mentioned above would be a great place to start.

any ideas anyone?

Doesn't page depth only tell me the amount of pages viewed 'per visit'?
I want to find out how how many unique users have viewed over 10 pages in 1 month, not one visit.

No problem. Â Were you able to add that custom report and then set up the advanced segments? Â The advanced segments for 10 plus pages would be page depth > 10 as a regex versus the 1 through 9 which you would say exact match when you set up the segment.
As far as unique users - the most unique is going to be visitors. Â Here is a great article that discusses exactly how unique you will get.

Hi runnerkik,
wow, thanks for taking the time to post this.
No they are not logged on. I want to know how many 'unique' users (as google describes unique) view more than 10 pages on my site in a month.

Hi MirandaP, so I guess to answer your question I have a question for you. In terms of unique users, when you say user is that person logged in some how? The reason I am asking is because you can use custom variables to track logged in and logged out users. This will require custom js code. Here is a video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WbOtcwgQqE
If you are talking about getting more unique that visits you can use visitors.
Here is a video explaining the difference.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpeL6WGlvEI
So, a visitor has a cookie, and a visitor cookie keeps track of a timestamp, so one visitor can have multiple visits, and page views.
So in order to answer your question, you would need to create a custom report.
After you create your custom report you need to create an advanced segment. You could do 5 advanced segments, using page depth = 1, page depth = 2 and so on.
Here I created a custom report for you to help you get started.

Apple.com showing in Google Analytics "My Top Active Pages" - Why?
Hi Mozzers This has more than likely been asked before but my searches have left me empty handed so I have asked on here ( sorry! ) Please see attached screenshot, do you have any idea why apple.com is showing in my top pages? I'm just curious more than anything as this isn't the first time I've noticed it. Anybody know? Happy Friday people, cheers Jamie CiTCA5b.png

Google Analytics is treating my blog like all the content is just on the home page.
Hello all, I installed Google Analytics on a main website and a blog (blog.travelexinsurance.com) While it appears to be tracking correctly (and when I test it in real time it shows that I'm visiting) but it is treating the entire blog as though it's one page. So I can't see data on blog post X. All I see is that X visitors came to my blog in aggregate. So I see blog.travelex.com has 999 visitors, but it doesn't show that /travel-luggage got 50 visits, while /insurace-tips got 75 and so forth. I assume I screwed up the tracking somehow, but can't figure out where I went wrong. Tracking on the main domain works just fine. It's specific to the blog.

Tracking in Google Analytics
My site has just recently (or maybe not so recently...) had a great deal of https URL's indexed (I was really only able to find this out thanks to the recent update to the GWT Index Status). It appears that Googlebot picked up an ssl somewhere (I already know where) on my site and then proceeded to crawl and index pages with https rather than http. Â Since I understand the issue, it should be an easy fix. My question is, does Google Analytics support (track) both http AND https for one site, or would I need to set up two different tracking codes for http and https? Â I figured that I might as well grab some data from the https pages that are indexed before I try and remove them. I've done a little research on using Groupings/Groups but I figured I would reach out to the MOZ community to see if anyone else has worked with a similar issue. Thanks!

How long after a redirect should we see results?
In mid September we had to so some redirects from old URL's to new URL's. We haven't seen a significant jump in traffic so we are wondering how long this might take before we see a change. We are the brand so we should be getting some sort of authority from Google, yes? Any tips that can be offered would be grateful as we are stumped.
