How can I tell if a website is a 'NoFollow'?
-
I've been link building for a long time but have recently discovered that most of my links are from NoFollow links, such as twitter and Youtube.
How can I tell if a website is a 'NoFollow'?

Thanks to both of you, I've now downloaded the toolbar which is making things so much easier.
Much appreciated guys

There's also various plugins for Chrome / Firefox which will highlight nofollowed links on a page - including SEOMoz's Mozbar (http://www.seomoz.org/seo-toolbar)
-
Either by looking at the source on the page (right click in most browsers) or right-click an example of the link you want and "Inspect element." In the <a>tag, you will see "rel=nofollow."</a>
<a>Inspect element is great for looking at the source code of only the section of a page you want (instead of scrolling and scanning forever). It is helpful with de-bugging code (for on-page SEO).
If you are prospecting links en masse (like through OSE or another backlink research tool) there is usually a field to tell you what links are nofollowed.
Does that make sense?</a>

Alt tag for src='blank.gif' on lazy load images
I didn't find an answer on a search on this, so maybe someone here has faced this before. I am loading 20 images that are in the viewport and a bit below. The next 80 images I want to 'lazy-load'. They therefore are seen by the bot as a blank.gif file. However, I would like to get some credit for them by giving a description in the alt tag. Is that a no-no? If not, do they all have to be the same alt description since the src name is the same? I don't want to mess things up with Google by being too aggressive, but at the same time those are valid images once they are lazy loaded, so would like to get some credit for them. Thanks! Ted

How important is the optional <priority>tag in an XML sitemap of your website? Can this help search engines understand the hierarchy of a website?</priority>
Can the <priority>tag be used to tell search engines the hierarchy of a site or should it be used to let search engines know which priority to we want pages to be indexed in?</priority>

Promoting as Affiliate by Having Nofollow Links, can it hurt
Hello, we have a PR-5 site http://www.updater.in In it - we are promoting Hosting, Web development primarily acting as affiliate to these companies. All links to the best of info are marked as nofollow, but still can it hurt search rankings as visitors are been directed within seconds to the respective partner I mean - the time which a person spends is pretty low and every page is marked as Affiliate. If yes - How to get this corrected with sites acting of such nature thanks

Pagination Question: Google's 'rel=prev & rel=next' vs Javascript Re-fresh
We currently have all content on one URL and use # and Javascript refresh to paginate pages, and we are wondering if we transition to the Google's recommended pagination if we will see an improvement in traffic. Has anyone gone though a similar transition? What was the result? Did you see an improvement in traffic?

Any idea why I can't add a Panoramio image link to my Google Places page?
Hey guys & gals! Last week, I watched one of the Pro Webinars on here related to Google Places. Since then, I have begun to help one of my friends with his GP page to get my feet wet. One of the tips from the webinar was to geotag images in Panoramio to use for your images on the Places page. However, when I try to do this, I just get an error that says they can't upload it at this time. I tried searching online for answers, but the G support pages that I have found where someone asks the same question, there is no resolution. Can anyone help? PS - I would prefer not to post publicly the business name, URL, etc. So, if that info is needed, I can PM. Thanks a lot!
