Facebook Account Architectures (Pages, Groups, etc)
-
I'm looking for help with how to setup/manage a community on Facebook. Here is the scenario:
You have a bike store owner. Out of the store he also organizes different biking training groups, for people who want to be able to meet certain personal goals. These groups like to interact with the other members inside their groups, but not across groups.
Does the following architecture make sense? The business would have 1 Company Page. Then for for various different training groups, the company admin would create Facebook 'Groups' which allow for interaction amongst members that way.
Does that make sense? Or is there a smarter way to do this? It seems like this isn't very unified, because there could be a bunch of different groups. Is there a way to set this up inside the business' page itself? Any other thoughts?

you are right it will be to much to manage all this groups.
how about a page with Events for the different training groups? This is easier to manage and gives the opportunity for the others who weren't on that event to read the comments see pictures etc.

How can I change the Facebook Page shown in the SERP
Hi everyone, got a quick question in regard to our Facebook page and its appearance on the Google SERP. We have individual Facebook pages for every country and language. Unfornately the UK site is ranking in the German SERP rather then our Germany Facebook Site. The UK site is way older and has much more likes which most likely explains why this page is (still) outranking our, fairly new site (couple of months). Is there a way, to push my German Facebook Site in front of the UK Site in Germany? Any advice or tipp is much appreciated. Thanks

Counting unique landing pages in Google Analytics: social vs organic channels
Remember the technique Rand posted for counting the unique indexed landing pages on a site? http://moz.com/blog/indexation-for-seo-real-numbers-in-5-easy-steps I'm using Google Analytics to compare this result for the "social" channel vs. the "organic search" channel. The idea is to see whether social or search delivers people to more unique landing pages. I would expect organic search to yield a significantly higher count, due to long tail searches for relatively obscure terms. We have an archive of over 500k pages that Google could be indexing, even if only a fraction of a percent of those might be getting social mentions. But that's not what the numbers show -- I'm seeing roughly 10% higher numbers for the Social channel than for Organic Search. Again, I'm counting unique landing pages here, not the total pageviews or visits. If anyone else here is monitoring these metrics, please chime in with your results. What's the baseline expectation for a large website with hundreds of thousands of pages of issue-centric user-generated content? Should search traffic provide 2x more landing page exposures than social? 5x? 10x? or 0.9x, as in my case? In short, I believe these numbers are pointing to an indexing/ranking problem following a recent site redesign.

Should I have Facebook Likes on my webpage point to a Facebook page or just the domain?
We have a Like button on our site which currently Like's our domain. I'm wondering if it would be better if it Liked a Facebook page for our company. The benefit of liking the domain as I can see it is that when it appears on timelines a click will take you directly to our site.

Anyone have a great example of a confirmation page with a social element?
We're thinking of adding social elements to our confirmation page, which as of right now doesn't ask for any specific action. Might as well take advantage. i.e. "Tweet this" or "Share this" with a shortened link to the landing page. Does anyone have any great examples of Twitter/Facebook being incorporated into a confirmation page? Visually pleasing, striking, great copy? It can be a confirmation for any type of action, whether you've just bought something, subscribed to something, joined a site, anything really.

Let's talk about Facebook Comments!
Have you seen Jen's post on the SEO Blog today about Facebook? I am really interested in testing out Facebook comments. Are any of you guys using them? Here are my thoughts: Benefits: Will make it easy for people to comment (assuming they have a facebook account) Their comments are shared on their wall and on their friends' news feeds so you could potentially get a LOT of exposure and traffic. Potential Drawbacks: Who controls the content? If facebook decides to pull this feature will we lose all of our comments? What is the moderation like? Do I get to approve which comments are posted? Some people may be reluctant to comment if they know that their friends are going to see what they wrote. What do you guys think? Are you going to use FB comments?
