Visual Website Optimizer vs. Optimizely vs. Conductrics
-
I've always done my own A/B testing and haven't used a software package. I've heard a lot of good about Visual Website Optimizer. However, I like that Conductrics uses statistical modeling where the others don't. So what do you see as being the really big pluses?
Note: I need to find a platform so that we can do testing faster and for more clients at a time... I just don't have the time to hand build and track each client's multivariation test. Thus the need for software. Therefore, ease of use, quick integration, and good analytics are important in my decision making process.
Thanks in advance!

I meant anger - just short-hand for "haven't used it on anything live". I've played around with demos etc but haven't used it personally on live projects.
I believe they're doing what's called bandit optimization in the statistical literature. Fascinating area of study. I like it from a mathematical perspective - though I prefer declaring a specific winner and then implementing that version rather than always having the split-test software running and serving up variations.
It feels tidier, easier to maintain and results in a faster website...

Will,
Thanks for the awesome feedback - especially about the page snapshots..
"I haven't used Conductrics in anger" - not sure that you meant anger or ages but either way I would be interested to know why you haven't used it? I like the idea behind machine learning and real-time implementation, but I haven't found a lot of people that have much to say about it. On the flipside, I'm always a little nervous that the machine learning process will leave out key information that could only be noticed by a human and therefore optimize incorrectly - thus, I lean more towards Optimizely/VWO.
Thanks again!
Steve

I haven't used Conductrics in anger, but have recently started using Optimizely more - I really like the fact that it's all jQuery based. The big benefits of that for us are:
- Super easy point and click interface for non-technical writers to make changes
- More advanced (edit jQuery code) options for more involved tests
- Not limited to page snapshots (as I believe VWO is) - this was something that caused us issues with our XSS protection scripts and meant we couldn't use VWO effectively on distilled.net
Hope that helps - sorry I haven't got comprehensive comparison data. Optimizely has a free trial though so you can test it out for yourself (really quick to get up and running).

Google not giving ranking to the intended page of my website.
Hello friends, This is my very first question, I hope I will explain my issue correctly. I have created two pages related to SSC CGL keyword on my website: https://www.ibtindia.com/ssc-cgl-notification-exam-date 2) https://www.ibtindia.com/ssc-cgl-apply-online I want to target the keyword SSC CGL Apply Online on the 2nd URL but Google is only considering the 1st page for all the "apply" related keywords as well. Can anyone suggest to me how to get the second page in rankings for its intended keywords? I will be very thankful for this help. I tried adding image but its showing dummy. Please you can check it op GOOGLE SERP Second page

Within the Q&A forum, is it spam to include a website in our signature?
Hello Mozzers! I've seen several contributors that end their questions and responses with a website. Just for the sake of the argument, this is an example: -- Some text about the response/question --- Hope I've helped. Gaston Riera www.domain-Gaston-company.com To clarify more, the URL does never have a link. I've always considered that this is a place to share and help other by ours/others expertise not to self promote implicitly our company.

So, my question is related to the rules and best practices in the forum: Is it spam to include a website in the signature of a message? Does Moz's community staff take some action about those? Thanks!

Does anyone know of a predictive demographics software that helps a website predict its audience based on cookies, or whatever info it has?
Hi guys, I'm looking for a predictive analytics software for better understanding our audience online. Has anyone heard of or used a software that takes the visitors currently coming to your site and uses that data to 'predict' more information about them? Such as age, location, purchasing power, etc? Please let me know if you have!

Re-Launching Old website with New SEO Friendly Features - What should I track?
Hey Mozers, I was brought on to the team to Optimize the old website to make it more SEO friendly and I was able to get some cool features up. What Analytic Key points should I keep track of? The website launches in 2 weeks and I think Now would be a great time to start gather data bout the old site. I'd like to make sure I keep the website under a microscope to make sure there are as little errors as possible. What am I missing I already have: Page Authority Domain Authority Bounce Rate Time on page Visitors/Sessions Unique Visitors/Sessions

Correct approach to a business website with separate content for personal and business customers
I'm laying the groundwork for a fairly involved website. The website is for a telco that caters to both residential and B2B. I was browsing the websites of the likes of Verizon, AT&T, Sprint & T-Mobile. What I saw is that they compartmentalize almost everything - all their business pages are in a business subdoman, all their investor info is in an investor subdomain and so-on. So I'm going implement this strategy on this website update. I just want to make sure that my idea makes sense and isn't a complete cluster****. I've attached a link to the mind map. Everything with "(sub)" attached to it is a subdomain. Everything else is a page at the root level of the top domain. Most of the visitors we get to the website are residential, so instead of loading a portal at first and asking if they're there for person or business reasons, I'm considering forwarding all visitors to the top-level domain to the personal.example.com site. Is this okay or would it be better to just keep the content in the top-level rather than forwarding all traffic to a subdomain? Thank you! 1JY7DWw

My satellite website is ranking better than my actual site. Why and what to do?
This is our website: www.sauspiel.de and this is the satellite website. As the satellite site has a better ranking for the keyword "schafkopf" since two or three weeks we wonder how this could happen and what would be best to change it or improve the situation. Shall we take down the satellite site, redirect to the "real" site or try to downgrade? And what would you consider to be the (strongest) reason? Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for your help and assessment!

Hi guys.. post-penguin my website coming in and out of serps every other day... what reason for that? ie. #11 --> #300+
We had one of the pre-penguin "unnatural links " messages in WMT - then Penguin hit April 24th/25th.. wee then set to work on Link profile... since 19th May we have had numerous search phrases come 'back' into rank pre-penguin for a day ie.. #5 - #10 and then drop the next.. ie 300+ this has been happening across a wide range of key phrases.... in fact it may well be that the key phrases are added to the serps 'briefly' or for a set amount of time... but our ranking checker checks daily so while it appears to be every other day in and out there may be another pattern... but the question is What is Google doing here and Why? any suggestions?
