3 (similar) keywords - 3 (similar) domains - best strategy?
-
Hi all!
I've got head scratcher here, your input would be super valuable!
We have these 3 exact match domains.
FloatTank.ca
IsolationTank.ca
SensoryDeprivationTank.caThe domains are all 3 different ways of saying the exact same thing - and each of the 3 keywords have roughly the same amount of traffic.
Right now we are just providing information on Float Tanks / Isolation Tanks / Sensory Deprivation Tanks, their benefits are and how to use them, where to find a location etc.
Do you have any strategies or advice considering the current domains and the points below?
-
The content on each site would be VERY SIMILAR, as they are all talking about the same thing, "floating". Any suggestions for this?
-
We want to (sometime in the near future) create a branded website. ie. FloatNation.ca in which we rank for all 3 of the above terms.
-
Should we spin content for each site, and then create a 301 down the road to our main domain?
Your input is appreciated!
All the best,
Bright. -

There are sites that allow you to create low level infographics or you can outsource to some freelance designer this will cost you less as compare to hire a designer inhouse.
you have to have some budget for it but at the end of the day the results can be great!

Hi Irving,
Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Spinning is bad, got it! We won't do it
At the moment (until we create our own Float Studio) we plan on providing information and selling products that might relate to Float Tanks. ie. Recommended books, Epsom salt (a key component of the health benefits associate with floatation tanks) and perhaps other items which relate well to the "new age" demographic.
Thoughts?

Hi Moosa,
Thanks kindly for your input!
This is an interesting strategy - I like how each site would present the same information in different formats, smart!
We can do the blog no problem, and we can do the Q&A Site too, but an infographics site would be too resource intensive. Any suggestions if we don't have the resources to create Infographics?
Best,
Bright. -
Spinning the content is crap but writing unique content for each is ideal. If you can keep all three sites separate you can target and probably rank all three on the first page of google.ca for all three keywords since competition should be relatively low in ca.
Are you going to be selling advertising or products on these sites in the near future? Depending on how you monetize would determine what type of content works best for them. Need to define that first.
-
This is tough but at least you people are in a super ideal state where you have all the domains J
Ok, I think the idea of spinning the content is rubbish so don’t ever try that!
I think what you can do with these 3 domains is to use one as a blog and one is for images (infographics) and last is for community interaction.
- Blog: You are already sharing the information; all you have to do is to continue doing the same thing without coping the same or relatively similar information on other domains.
- Infographics: On 2nd domain try to design infographics and make it go live there, this will allow you to get tons of links as well as the audience who love information within images.
- QnA Section: Try to use the 3rd domain as a QnA section where people can ask and answer questions. This will help the community to stay around your brand and when you company with a brand website this three websites will help you generate lots of traffic and sales at the same time.
Hope this helps!

How granular should I get with Keyword research?
I'm doing KW research for a new business. My understanding from KW research guides: Use tools to create a list of thousands of keywords Analyze difficulty and search volume Reduce your list and do on page optimization for your select KWs My dilemma with this approach is that it seems "keyword based" rather than "intent" or "category" based. e.g. Let's say I have a grocery store. Ignoring SEO, I know that these are my main categories: Produce Meat Dairy Canned Goods Baked Goods In other words, the above categories are the general "intents" and "categories" that I'd really want to rank for. Keyword tool shows that they have high volume and high difficulty. Let's say that after doing keyword research, I discover "Low Fat Chicken Breasts" and "Turkey Sausage" and "Cheap Meat Wholesale" have decent search volume and low competition. I don't quite understand how I'm supposed to utilize these fringe keywords in my on page SEO plan because it doesn't make sense as a human to categorize my site that way. Not sure if this is clear. Basically I'm trying to figure out if I should really be getting this granular on keywords to help guide my store categories or if I should just be picking broader terms.

On-page optimization for closely related keywords or acronyms of keywords
We are in the process of on-page optimization for a site that sells one kind of software. We are trying to optimize each page for a target keyword and variations of the keyword, however we have more pages than keyword variation types, so I'm looking for feedback on whether the below plan would be keyword cannibalization. Examples: URL: www.domain.com/product
Keyword Research | | seo_1234b
Tarket Keyword: device imaging software
Title Tag: Device Imaging Software | Company Name URL: www.domain.com/solutions
Target Keyword: device imaging solutions
Title Tag: Device Imaging Solutions | Company Name URL: www.domain.com/products/product-name
Target Keyword: dis (acronym)
Title Tag: DIS Software | Product Name | Company Name My question is are these keyword too closely related for each of the pages? Will they be considered duplicate title tags? Keyword cannibalization? etc. Thanks!0 -
Is the Adwords keywords planner accurate ?
Hey guyz,
Keyword Research | | atakala
As you guyz do, I base all my seo effort into the keywords' traffic and quality which I can get from Adwords Keywords Planner.
But this post has confused my mind .
It' says the average searches doesn't exactly the average searches.
And everything is okay here now I can say that of course it's not %100 accurate.
But the shocking part is he gives an example of how a big gap there is between real searches number and adwords keywords planner tools give us . What do you think guyz?
Can it be true ?
(And also last time I asked a question, Randy has replied me, If possible please Randy do it again :D.)

Keywords in SEO Moz versus Keywords on pages
II'm a little confused by how the SEO Moz keywords relate to our page keywords. Should all the keywords we put in SEO Moz be in our page keywords? Can our SEO Moz keywords span the kepywords of severla pages or do we need ot tighten up and only use 5 for example keywords in SEO Moz and on our pages? Thanks!

Keyword Ranking
Soooooo, let's just say that I put a lot of keywords into the ranking tracker. Is there an easy way to reduce this list without having to go in word by word and pause or delete them? Like is there a bulk upload type of system? Thanks!

Question about keyword analysis
I am working on a keyword analysis for a range of keywords. I want to target these keywords in the Denver market. I know if you search google for something like "IT Support" and you are located in Denver it knows where you are and caters the results to be more Denver IT Support oriented. I did notice that those results are different than if you search for "Denver IT Support" My pages are optimized for the Denver market and the keyword like "IT Support" but I am a bit confused on how I should be doing my research into keywords. Should I be putting Denver into all my keyword analysis research even though I still want to rank for just the keyword when they are searching from the Denver area. I hope this all makes sense. I guess I just need some guidance on how to deal with the location specifics of my keywords. Thanks in advance for any help.
