Crawl Diagnostics
-
Hello,
I would appreciate your help on the following issue.
During Crawl procedure of e-maximos.com (WP installation) I get a lot of errors of the below mentioned categories:
Title Missing or Empty & Missing Meta Description Tag
for the URLs: http://e-maximos.com/?like_it=xxxx (i.e. xxxx=1033)
Any idea of the reason and possible solution.
Thank you in advance
George

Hi there,
Thank you letting us know what's going on, I've looked into your diagnostic report, it looks like they are finding these errors because some of your pages are dynamically generated based on the URL that I can see. If you actually go into the specific report you can actually go to the page that we are seeing this, in your example if you follow the link: http://e-maximos.com/?like_it=1033. This is what it looks like: http://screencast.com/t/tgDGr9JLAX4b. It looks like our tool are reporting the correct errors, although I am not sure how Roger was able to crawl those site, although it doesn't look like your robots is set up to prevent him from going there either.
Since your site is written with Word Press, this is one of those situations where Word Press is a great tool for setting up sites on the fly, it sometimes is hard to set it up correctly, since it takes the code quality control out of the users' hands with widgets and plugins. Unfortunately our support channel don't offer consulting as part of our service since we're a product company, also in terms of a solution I will leave this discussion open to see any of our other expert users will chime in to provide some of their insight. One thing to note is that you do have a private question to ask our associates any question you want, I would utilize that to make sure you specific site audit questions gets answered.
Hope that helps!
Best,
Peter

Crawl report - duplicate page title/content issue
When the crawl report is finished, it is saying that there are duplicate content/page titles issues. However there is a canonical tag that is formatted correctly so just wondered if this was a bug or if anyone else was having the same issues? For example, I'm getting a error warning for this page http://www.thegreatgiftcompany.com/categories/categories_travel?sort=name_asc&searchterm=&page=1&layout=table

Dynamic URL pages in Crawl Diagnostics
The crawl diagnostic has found errors for pages that do not exist within the site. These pages do not appear in the SERPs and are seemingly dynamic URL pages. Most of the URLs that appear are formatted http://mysite.com/keyword,%20_keyword_,%20key_word_/ which appear as dynamic URLs for potential search phrases within the site. The other popular variety among these pages have a URL format of http://mysite.com/tag/keyword/filename.xml?sort=filter which are only generated by a filter utility on the site. These pages comprise about 90% of 401 errors, duplicate page content/title, overly-dynamic URL, missing meta decription tag, etc. Many of the same pages appear for multiple errors/warnings/notices categories. So, why are these pages being received into the crawl test? and how to I stop it to gauge for a better analysis of my site via SEOmoz?

Crawl Diagnostics finding pages that dont exist. Will Rel Canon Help?
I have recently set up a campaign for www.completeoffice.co.uk. Im the in-house developer there. When the crawl diagnostics completed, i went to check the results, and to my surprise, it had well over 100 missing or empty title tags. I then clicked it to see what pages, and nearly all the pages it say have missing or empty title tags, DO NOT EXIST. This has really confused me and need help figuring out how to solve this. Can anyone help? Attached image is a screen shot of some of the links it showed me on crawl diagnostics, nearly all of these do not exist. Will the relation Canonical tag in the head section of the actual pages help? For example, The actual page that exist is: www.completeoffice.co.uk/Products.php Whereas, when crawled it actually showed www.completeoffice.co.uk/Products/Products.php Will have the rel can tag in the header of the real products.php solve this?

Crawl Diagnostics and missing meta tags on noindex blog pages
Hi Guys/Gals We do love the Crawl Diagnostics, but do find the missing meta tags ("Missing Meta Description" Tag in this case) somewhat spammy. We use the "All in One SEO Pack" for our blog and it does stick in noindex, follow (as it should) on the pages that is of no use to us. "2008/04/page/2/" and the likes. Maybe I'm wrong but should the Diagnostics tool not respect the noindex tag and just ignore any warnings, since it should really mean that these pages are NOT included in the search index. Meaning that the other meta tags are really useless. Any thoughts?

Crawl Rate for Lower Page Authority Websites
Hi,At thumbtack.com we get tons of links from low (or no) page authority websites, and I'm wondering what the crawl rate of those links looks like. I know Google pulls in the web at an astonishing rate, but I'd imagine they aren't re-crawling lower PA very frequently. Are they discovering these links a week after they're posted? A month? More? I spent a while looking around for histograms of actual crawl rates and found surprisingly little. I'd love to see average crawl rate by Domain or Page Authority if that exists anywhere.

Thanks!-MichaelP.S. Here are some random examples of the types of pages with inbound links I'm talking about. Normally we wouldn't spend too much time thinking about these, but there's just so many of them we can't ignore it!- http://www.majestic-cleaners.webs.com/- http://domchieraphotography.blogspot.com/- http://charlottepiano.musicteachershelper.com/- http://pin-upgirlphotography.vpweb.com/default.html- http://jfaithful.weebly.com/0
