How does SEOmoz pull its duplicate page title and content information?
-
I ask because I am getting errors based on URLs that do not even exist on our site. For example: http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots this URL does not even exist for our site, but somehow it is listed in the error section of page title duplication tool. http://www.robots.com/applications/ exists, but there is no place to get to an ABB or a Panasonic robot from this page, not to mention an ABB/Panasonic (which for sure does not exist). ??
We have quite a few of these out there and just wondering how to find out where the link is coming from. When we checked our URLs through Integrity, links like the one listed above (which we had 29 of them listed) that do not show up.
Thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Janelle,
When I copy and paste the URL you supplied above http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots
I get a page to come up. So this page does exist somewhere. Even if you can't navigate to it from the standard nav bar on your site it may be linked in your sitemap or in other dynamically generated places.
Looks like you need to map out your URLs and find the places where weird ones are still getting indexed and clean them up.

How to deal with auto generated pages on our site that are considered thin content
Hi there, Wondering how to deal w/ about 300+ pages on our site that are autogenerated & considered thin content. Here is an example of those pages: https://app.cobalt.io/ninp0 The pages are auto generated when a new security researcher joins our team & then filled by each researcher with specifics about their personal experience. Additionally, there is a fair amount of dynamic content on these pages that updates with certain activities. These pages are also getting marked as not having a canonical tag on them, however, they are technically different pages just w/ very similar elements. I'm not sure I would want to put a canonical tag on them as some of them have a decent page authority & I think could be contributing to our overall SEO health. Any ideas on how I should deal w/ this group of similar but not identical pages?

Page with "Missing Title Tag" isn't a page
Hello, I am going through the various errors that the Moz Pro Crawl report and some non-existent pages keep coming up in the report. For example, one error category is "Missing Title Tag" with one page identified. But this page http://www.immigroup.com/news/“http%3A/crs.yorku.ca”?page=2 isn't real. It would have been a 404 were there not a redirect for everything that is /news/gobbledygook to /news. So my question is: when moz (or GA for that matter) identifies these pages as "real" and having errors, do I need to take this seriously? And what do I do about it? Thanks! George

Concerned About Individual Pages
Okay. I've setup a campaign for www.site.com and given a list of keywords. So after the initial crawl we'll have some results. What I'm looking for tho is how do individual pages on my site rank for the list of keywords given. And then be able to go to a screen in seomoz with data for that particular page with recommendations and stuff like that. Is this what's going to happen or do I need to create a campaign for each url i want to track? If all will work as I'd like in the example above, should I then add the second list of keywords that some other pages should rank for? Will it get to be a big mess or can I relate the keywords to pages in some way? It seems like what I'm looking for is what this program should be... Thanks!

What value am I getting from SEOmoz?
Okay, I've been using the trial version of SEOmoz for almost a week, but, I'm just not sure what to do with it to be honest. I'm not an SEO expert, so, a lot of the terminology and reports are confusing. So far the only thing I've found useful are the domain and page duplication errors, but, I can get the same info from Google Webmaster Tools. Am I missing something? We have a very simple site for a small business, not sure I can justify $99 per month for a service I don't really understand. Is this service more for SEO professionals than business owners? -Tom

Does SEOmoz give a way to know what link on what page produces the 404 errors that SEOmoz is telling me I have??
SEOmoz gives me a report of 404 errors on my site. Do they give a way to know from what link on what page produces the error?

Truncate page URLs
We have some pages (for example a contact us form) for which the URL is modified by the CMS depending on the referring page (this helps to put the form submission in context for the sales reps who get the contact submission). The SEOmoz crawler considers each URL a new page -- and so numbers like in diagnostics are all inflated as the same page is listed multiple times (e.g. for too many links) Is there a setting to change what the crawler considers to be the same page? Here are two URLs for the same page that the reports treat as separate pages: http://www.spirent.com/About-Us/Contact_us.aspx?referurl=0F528F4D703D8BB3523738D6373AA8AD http://www.spirent.com/About-Us/Contact_us.aspx?referurl=10ACDA6055244E369395223437FDCF30 The page is actually: http://www.spirent.com/About-Us/Contact_us.aspx Thanks Ken

Is SEOMoz better than Traffic Travis ?
I've been trying both programs for the free trial and I'm not sure which one is exactly better. they seem to me that both give a similar asepct of research, However SEOMOZ seems to be updating more frequntly. On the seconnd hand, traffic travis is way more cheaper only $97 one time fee as apposed to SEOMoz $100 per month Could someone convince me SEOMOZ is the better tool?
