Domain Deindexed because of Redirect
-
I think this is an interesting topic to discuss though I'm looking for answers too.
One of my well performing domain deindexed by Google today.
Reason: Redirect from a 9 year old Deindexed domain (Must be penalysed)
I believe this is done by one of my competitor.
What you people suggest me to do now?
Don't you think if this is the way Google treat the redirects after Penguin anybody can use this technique to harm their competitors?

My site has 100+ unique articles and all are having 400+ words. I was getting 3K visits to this till yesterday. I haven't done any link building BH or WH to the site recently only just few bookmarks. I also personally believe that the redirect itself should not be the reason but can't find any valid reason to for this deindexing.

I believe that redirect for a single site should not be the cause for de-indexing. It had to be due to some other reason(s) like addition of noindexed in robots.txt, spammy link building done in the past or thin/duplicate content.
You should check if Google has send any messages in your webmaster tool account either recently or in the past. Also, you should check if someone might have accidentally added remove URL (domain in this case) request in your webmaster account.

EMD and dot CO domains
This may be a basic question for some. I would like to get opinion of SEO experts on EMD and .co domains. I understand from what I have read that exact match domains have less value nowadays but they still have some value, that's what I seem to be sensing from experts. So I wanted to know how .co domains are viewed in term of SEO. And can an exact match .co domain have a better opportunity against another domain which is not an EMD if all other things are equal?

Google search console: 404 and soft 404 without any back-links. Redirect needed?
Hi Moz community, We can see the 404 and soft 404 errors in Google web masters. Usually these are non-existing pages which are found somewhere on internet by Google. I can see some of these reported URLs don't have any back-links (checked on ahrefs tool). Do we need to redirect each and every link reported here or ignore or marked to be fixed? Thanks

Does Google considers the cached content of a page if it's redirected to new page?
Hi all, If we redirect an old page to some new page, we know that content relevancy between source page and this new page matters at Google. I just wonder if Google is looking at the content relevancy of old page (from cache) and new page too. Thanks

There are many websites which has got multiple sub domains which receive backlinks? So the backlinks to main domain and sub domain weigh same at Google? Thanks

Do sub-domain visits do not count for website?
It's a common understanding that Google treats sub-domains as different websites. Does that mean visits of sub-domain do not impact website in-terms of ranking or visibility or reputation at Google?

Choosing Domain Name
I am trying to choose between two domains:- Lets call them www.exampledeals.com www.examplediscountsforum.com While 1 is shorter than 2, people don't search for 'Example Deals' but they do search for 'Example Discounts' is quite large numbers, therefore 2 containts all the keywords. How much does including the keywords which you are targetting in the domain affect ranking these day?

.Co Domains - Any thoughts?
Hi Guys I'm not sure which section this one belongs in as I didn't see a section for domains/tlds. I wanted an opinion on the future of .co domains. We own a gift company (www.xperiencedays.com), as well as a gift recommendation site (www.uniquegifts.net), and invested in a few gift occasion .co domains (www.birthdaygifts.co, christmasgifts.co etc). This was partly because they were cheap and easy to come by, but also with a hope that they soon gain some public recognition. My question therefore is whether anyone within SEOMOZ has an opinion on whether .co will be widely accepted, whether they will (as google claims) be treated as a non-country specific url, and early success stories you know of, and finally whether the recent news from Overstock to rebrand as O.co (http://www.overstock.com/guides/faqs-about-o-co) is the kick start that .co need. I realize that is more than one question
