How to reach beyond main social accounts
-
My blog is still very young - and I feel like a total newbie, but I'm working at it consistently. I've got 21 posts that I've put up since the beginning of January (except for 2 from October) and another in the pipeline and of course, plans to continue on this way.
I've been building up my confidence and feel like it's just about time to branch out farther than my Google+, FaceBook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts (which I've been doing regularly).
My hope is to gain more visitors by publicizing the posts in some other environments. I would so appreciate some suggestions on how I might do that. And also, is it too soon? I don't want to jump the gun before there's an respectable/acceptable amount of content.

Thanks, Sung Moon.
You're right. I need to check my competitors links. Many of them have a ton more links than I do and I know for a fact that at least one of them has been paying a service to get them links for years. I do not want to follow in those footsteps for all the obvious reasons.

Thanks, Nakul,
As I mentioned, I have the social thing going and am doing all the things you suggest with the exception of the action text. I am looking for suggestions and ideas for other strategies in addition to my reach in social accounts.

Adding on what Nanking said of where your audience is. spy on your competitors and see where they are listing, where they get link backs, they they are are targeting.
research is key before anything else.

Create your identities on the social networks and share some of your content. Also put links to your social networks on your blog for your blog visitors to follow you on, look you up, contact you, connect with you etc. See how that works out. In my opinion, it depends and varies by niche to see where most of your audience is and how they like to interact with you. Over time, I would include more call to action sort of things like, towards the end of the article, Follow me on twitter to get notified when I post new articles. Or Like me on Facebook to get notified about my new article before anybody else etc.
It all depends what niche you are in, how big your audience is, where they are, demographics and how they interact with social media. Look at sites similar to yours and see what they do.
I hope this helps.

We're currently looking to do some reporting for Social Media. Anyone know the best place (possibly that's free) that can easily provide the following basic metrics for a social media campaign over a previous month period? FB likes FB comments FB shares Twitter retweets Twitter replies Google + (+1s) Google + comments Whether it covers these and/or other social media metrics, any good reporting tools out there that you know work really well would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chartered Surveyors
Forklift truck suppliers Not the most inspiring list... So my question is whether to pursue the whole social media side of SEO with them. I mean, who wants to "like" their chartered surveyor? Do they have anything interesting to "tweet" about? If anyone has experience of this type of field, then any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,0 -
Facebook Page likes vs Webpage facebook likes - Social Media Query
I have a website and a facebook page. I have the Facebook Social Plugin on my website which shows my facebook page likes - This is currently at approx 140 likes. Is there a difference between facebook page likes and webpage likes? For SEO purposes, should I be concentrating less on the Facebook page and more on building facebook likes for the website? Are there any guides on this? What gets people to like a website as opposed to a web-page?

Why isn't SEOMoz using Wistia's social sharing feautes?
I noticed that SEOMoz does not make use of Wistia's social sharing buttons such as a Facebook Like button. Is there any disadvantage to using the like button via Wistia rather than copy/pasting it in static HTML?
