"Same Server Related Niche" Penalty?

That's my suspicion as well. Can anyone confirm with data?

I don't think there is a real penalty for having realted sites in a same hosting. Another thing is that you have plenty of websites built using scraped content.
What I mean is that if you create 5-10 hand made domains you should have problems, it really depends on the quality of your content and how much you care of your website, but this applies to them even if you plan putting them on different servers.

IP Address of Server an SEO Factor??
Hello all, Interested to hear your thoughts on this. What's best practice re server IP location. Is it OK for that to be in the US if your company is in Europe? Any potential issues? John Mueller says server location is irrelevant, but some developer I work with thinks IP address of the server is a factor. Only ranking well when "UK" is added to search term
Hi, what does it mean when a lot of our keyword phrases rank only when "UK" is typed in the search term? For example:

"big storage boxes UK" (33) We haven't attempted to SEO the pages for search terms with "UK" appended to them. Our domain is a co.uk domain. So, what reasons could there be that are we ranking in such a way?0 -
Drop of 11 places - server issues?
Hi all, I have experienced a drop of 11 places for our main keyword since our last Moz rankings report which means page 2 to page 3. I have also received an error 904 in my weekly crawl report two weeks in a row and think this may be the reason for the drop. Could this result in a drop of 11 places? Last week I also tweeked the H1 tags on my main landing pages, nothing major just a reordering of the words. Could this result in such a major drop? Final question is does anyone know of any major algorithm update last week that could have affected rankings so drastically? Thanks all

Rel="canonical" and rel="alternate" both necessary?
We are fighting some duplicate content issues across multiple domains. We have a few magento stores that have different country codes. For example: domain.com and domain.ca, domain.com is the "main" domain. We have set up different rel="alternative codes like: The question is, do we need to add custom rel="canonical" tags to domain.ca that points to domain.com? Server cache and SEO
I have a question about server cache and seo. For example. www.chanel.com.cn , the server is in US, and uses China Cache to improve local Chinese users access speed, so what do you think this way will work for search engines spiders too? when a spider is crawlling the website, does the content it crawl on US server or China cache? what's best practice for those kind of SEO on server side? thanks Boson

How to handle "2" homepages?
Came across an interesting problem. A site has the traditional homepage of site.com and ranks okay. Later I found that another "homepage", site.com/home.html that ranks well for several terms but actually has old branding and semi-up-to-date content. Site.com/home.html has a solid linking profile but not as strong as the current homepage (site.com). The question I have is should I try to salvage the page or 301 redirect to site.com? Maximum of 100 links on a page vs rel="nofollow"
All, I read within the SEOmoz blog that search engines consider 100 links on a page to be plenty, and we should try (where possible) to keep within the 100 limit. My question is; when a rel="nofollow" attribute is given to a link, does that link still count towards your maximum 100? Many thanks Guy
