One keyword has dropped, everything else is ok, why?
-
Ok so this is what I got,
1 page ranks for about 5 different terms, all closely matching for example: Flower Pots, Flower Pot, Cheap Flower Pots, Buy Flower Pots.
Flower Pot and Flower Pots are on page 2.
Flower Pot stays where it is BUT Flower Pots drops out the rankings completely after being there for years.
Could a blast of exact match anchor text at the term Flower Pots cause this?
I would have thought the page would have been zapped rather then just one keyword.
Any ideas?
-
Yep, diversify you anchor and pray for the best.
-
Yes, you must most definitely remove the exact match anchor text and diversify the keywords. I would suggest going for quite a higher percentage of generic non-anchor texts such as "click here" etc.
-
Nope just off-site activity.
So how would you recommend bringing it back? im inclined to try and remove the heavy anchor text and replace it with mixed anchor from higher auth sites, but even then im not sure if Google have marked it and there is no coming back.
-
Yes, I would say that a sharp increase in exact match anchor text links would drop that keywords from the SERPS. Google is getting better at fine tuning the dops. Instead of dropping the entire page, I have also seen such drops for one of my own websites.
Another possible cause could also be heavy internal anchor text match for that keyword. Have you heavily added that anchor text internally too?

1000's Backlinks from ONE Root Domain - Positive or negative?
One of my website's link is placed over a comment. This website has a "recent comments" section in the footer which is hence appearing on all the websites pages. All tools including - Google Search Console, Majestic and MOZ are showing 45000+ links from that root domain. Questions: Are these links harmful to my rankings? Should I get all those links disavowed? Should I disavow the root domain or leave the link that lies on the home page? What if there are up to 10 links coming from a domain? is that harmful too? Apart from disavowing, is there any other option to get this fixed? If at all this counts as an issue... Thanks in advance!!

Still possible to target keywords?
If you're a professional SEO and a client wants to target certain keywords, other than on-page tweaks what else is there? Or am I right in presuming there's nothing you can do off-page any more?

Keyword variation.
Hello dear community, I'm just starting to really understand how seo and in-page optimization works that to SEOMoz. I have done alot of seo for my other pages in the bad way expecting great results which acually hurt me more than help 😞 So right now I'm working on application which takes screenshots of your desktop and upload small files on the portals you select. I have done the website (template and most of the content) but I would like to know when I'm going to start and build some links, what are some of the best keywords I should choose? I do understand already than this is not an exact math, but any kind of help would be awesome! I would like to focus more around "screenshot" keyword and not that much on file upload. I know I may ask kind of much, but anything is better. With great respect, Akhlis

Content Strategy - High Value on Lots of Sites vs. High Value on One Site
Good afternoon Mozzers. I have a discussion based question and I'd be interested to know your thoughts. I currently implement a content strategy where we create a series of high value How-to written articles, relevant to our audience and then work at getting them placed on multiple high value websites. I have just been offered an opportunity with a PR6 domain to create a similar series of content but place it all on their site with links back to ours through a dedicated section. So my question is would I gain more value from small amounts of great content in lots of places vs. a lot of great content in on place? Effectively 1 link from 20 sites vs. 20 links from 1 site.

Building on Brand for a keyword heavy domain with bad backlink profile
The domain is keyword heavy think along the lines of "mountainbikes.com" and they are ranking ok for mountain bikes, however on inspection they have a LOT of poor quality back links and a lot of those links are anchor text phrases (and far too much of it!). A lot of people recommend building on brand in situations like this, however how would I go about doing this for a site without a branded domain name? In this case their is a company name but it's not the same as the domain name, would you simply build links using the company name "Uber Bikes" or use the domain www.mountainbikes.com. If the aim is just to build a more varied back link profile then I guess using both would be good? Thanks in advance! 🙂

Last week the Google Australia ranking for one of my keyword was 10, this week it slipped to 20\. How come ?
Search Engine: Google Australia (organic) Keyword: Staging Hire Previously Ranked: 20 After several article and link submissions it jumped to 10. But in just one week slipped back to 20. Same thing happened with few other keywords too. Why?

One website with different niches/keywords.
Hello Mozzers! I am currently building a website, which basically contains information from different niches. Let's make it clear: My website is something like eHow. The idea is to write quality articles, written especially to give the searcher the right information, without any scam, product advertisement or etc. The incomes are from AdSense. Actually I got inspired for this website from the Google Panda update. So... my question is - would it be harder to rank with such a website(domain name) that contains different niches and keyword phrases? Lets change a lil bit the situation and show you an example - I am trying to rank with keyword "how to make nice cheezeburgers" with http://theanswer.org/how-to-make-nice-cheezeburgers/ . At the same time I am also trying to rank with "The best movies of all times" with http://theanswer.org/the-best-movies-of-all-times/ . Thank you, Ralchev 🙂

Building on specific keywords
Hi Guys, I'm will be building on specific keywords for my site and I'm thinking of doing some article marketing & I would like some advise, please. I'm going to write 10 300 word articles and within each article I will have 2 anchor text links going back to my site. To reinforce this I will be pinging the articles once completed. I will be submitting the articles to ezine, go articles etc. Advise and some other suggestions as to best practice for building on specific keywords would be appreciated, thank you.
