Duplicate Page Titles? I thought this was good structure....
-
I have several warnings for duplicate page title....
I thought that I had good structure, but I guess I am doing something wrong.
On my website (http://www.farnorthkennel.com), I am getting duplicate page errors for pages like this:
http://www.farnorthkennel.com/german-shepherd-puppies-the-girls/hazel
and
http://www.farnorthkennel.com/german-shepherd-puppies-the-girls/emeraldI thought that this sort of structure was a good idea since the end page is different. Should each page be set up right after the original domain name?
I'm new at this....

Hey Josh, the title you've put in those page is the same. The structure is good but you're repeating the same in every page. Maybe you can use that title here: http://www.farnorthkennel.com/german-shepherd-puppies-the-girls
and then in each page you may consider adding the dog's name at the beginning/en of the title like:
Hazel Index Card | German Sheperd Puppies in Alaska
Sorry for the bad translation however I think you got the point. In the titl eyou should specify what do you want to achieve with that page. If you're lloking for external visits try to fit there a good DIFFERENT keyword. If not just try to be descriptive like: Hazel profile | Meet the Kennel mother

The problem is that your blog title is also appearing as the title of your inner pages.
You should create unique titles for your pages or (if you want to include your blog title) you can do something like "Page title | Blog title".
I see you're using WordPress, here's a good place to start: http://yoast.com/articles/wordpress-seo/
Good luck!

Will pushing a visitor to a conversion page hosted on a 3rd-party domain hurt the landing page ranking
Had an interesting question from a client. The client has a page that is optimized for a specific term. The goal of the page is to push users to sign-up for a trial. The trial registration (conversion) page is hosted by a third-party. Will pushing users to the conversion page cannibalize the SEO authority of the landing page. My reflexive answer is to say no, but now am not so sure.

Duplication in landing page
This is driving me mad, I have a site that for some reason google and moz pick up the landing page as a duplicate. They see "mysite/" and "mysite/index.html" as two different pages and giving me warnings for duplication. I have no 301 included at this time and I am using foundation as the base. This is occurring both on a localhost test bed and live....... anyone got an idea how to correct.

Lead With Branded Keywords or Descriptive Keywords in Page Title for (Niche) Site?
Our site is hingeheads.com, and our products and product catalog are unique in two ways. For one our product is not something that people are generally aware of, and secondly our entire product catalog consists of different variations of the same product. **Catalog Overview: **http://hingeheads.com/collections/all Product Example: http://hingeheads.com/products/dolphin I keep wondering if it is better to lead the title with "branded keywords" [1] or with "descriptive keywords" [2]? Dolphin HingeHead | Unique Home Decor & Gift Idea | HingeHeads Dolphin Decor Accessories & Unique Gift Ideas | HingeHeads I am currently going with the second solution, but I am always wondering if that's the right/better solution. I am curious to hear feedback from people who have more experience with this than I do. How would you structure the title for our product pages? Thanks! Kai

Duplicate page titles
We have search results pages on our site. They share the same page title, there is no real differentiator between the result pages, other than page 1, page 2 etc. How do we de-dup the titles? just add page 1/2/3 etc to the end of them?

Duplicate content on video pages
Hi guys, We have a video section on our site containing about 50 videos, grouped by category/difficulty. On each video page except for the embedded player, a sentence or two describing the video and a list of related video links, there's pretty much nothing else. All of those appear as duplicate content by category. What should we do here? How long a description should be for those pages to appear unique for crawlers? Thanks!

Would it be bad to change the canonical URL to the most recent page that has duplicate content, or should we just 301 redirect to the new page?
Is it bad to change the canonical URL in the tag, meaning does it lose it's stats? If we add a new page that may have duplicate content, but we want that page to be indexed over the older pages, should we just change the canonical page or redirect from the original canonical page? Thanks so much! -Amy
