Site & Link Structure Opinions Wanted

Could you take a look at my site and help me optimize it.
-
nice, that answers a lot. You've been a huge help.
-
for the .html, just use permalinks.
Use yoast, so you can change the titles. Just do the 2011 Pittsburgh Steelers Roster, you don't need to repeat the site name again.
I don't think you need to come up with different titles. It is what it is in reality.
-
Ok, about .html
is that something I just add manually to the permalink? or should I use some type of plugin? I use wordpress.
I like the idea of 1999-season.
The site is named Pittsburgh Steelers Roster (maybe a mistake but that's ok)
My page titles are "2011 Pittsburgh Steelers Roster"
So the page title tags look like
"2011 Pittsburgh Steelers Roster | Pittsburgh Steelers Roster"
This is going to be perceived as keyword stuffing, correct?
So, I should come up with a more creative page title, correct?
-
I actually did the same thing a few years back, on a exact match domain. I got slaughtered.
If you can use different keywords in the page url, it would be best. I would even go as far as to say, putting a .html behind it. ex: 1999.html
or
/1990-1999/1999-playoff-run.html or 14-wins-3-loses.html or 1999-season.html
-
Ok, I did make most of the changes you've suggested.
I changed /history/ to:
/roster-history/
only because the site is going to have a lot of historic content about the decades, years, teams, and players.
I have a question about this URL:
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/roster-history/1990-1999/1999-pittsburgh-steelers-roster/
Would Google penalize me for having repeated the keywords in the URL? why does it makes sense to shorten this URL?
-
just quickly, I would not have two mention of your keywords in the url:
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/history/1990-1999/1999-pittsburgh-steelers-roster/
I would almost think this would be a better structure, even though I'm not a fan of using "roster" again, but it makes sense from a user's standpoint.
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/rosters
this page should show all the years groupings.
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/rosters/1990-1999
This page shows all the year links
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/rosters/1990-1999/1999
Roster info.
This:
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/history/2010-present/
should be
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/history/2010-2019 that's just a consistency thing.Same with this:
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/about-pittsburgh-steelers-roster/
should be
http://pittsburghsteelersroster.com/about
I wouldn't repeat the Keywords in the title twice as well.
Put some more content in it, and see how that goes.
Hope this helps, and Go Steelers!

My affiliate links are being crawled by Google. Is this a bad thing? Also, should I add rel: nofollow to affiliate links?
Hi All, I have an issue on Google Search Console. It seems all my affiliate links are being crawled. Is this a bad thing? The reason I found out is that all but one link was flagged with a warming. It goes on to say that it was blocked by robots.txt. The strange thing is that I've not set any links to be blocked in robots.txt. Also, should affiliate links be nofollow? I'm asking because I was recently sent this article by Yoast on how to properly cloak my affiliate links without using a plugin. https://yoast.com/cloak-affiliate-links/ In the method, they apply the nofollow and noindex rules to the links. I'm just a little confused on how to go about affiliate links the SEO friendly way.

Setting up external link goals in GA
I have recently switched all my travel affiliate links to TripAdvisor using their javascript code that converts the natural links (direct links to TA URLs) to affiliate links. I have set up goal tracking in GA to try to put a monetary value on clicks through to these links (based on the known conversion rate to commissionable bookings) but GA is over-reporting the goals by a very large margin. I'm wondering what I've done wrong. The first screen shot below is of the goal settings I used in GA. The second screenshot shows that GA is reporting 7125 goal completions since I set up the goal on 7 August. The third screenshot shows the actual number of GA events recorded on outbound clicks to TA URLs in the same period, which is just 97. So the goal completions being recorded far exceed the actual goal completions, but I'm not sure why. I know I've done something wrong but as this is the first time I've used goals, I'd appreciate some help to see what I've done wrong. Thank you. 3f7dc3de6f9f1373d47994144a5cb016 56aa39130a7d54b07d8f2ce9cf1d7fb0 35ee827275928ca8c4d4c941f0672ef8

KWs for review site: target *product* or *product review*?
Hi there,
Affiliate Marketing | | Ltsmz
Goal: increase organic targeted buyers traffic on a review site.
What I'm working on now: page optimization According to Google's Keyword Tool usually the keyword Product has 50x searches than Product Review. If you haven't tried it before you don't know how weird it sounds inserting too many times the keyword Product Review inside an actual review. Given that my goal is to increase organic targeted buyers traffic on a review site. My questions are: Do you target product or product review? If you target product review does it make any difference if I insert the keyword product review in sidebar, menu, footer, breadcrumbs instead than in the actual body of the review? What is best? Body or surrounding? Getting back-links on a blog is fairly easy. Anybody has any suggestion on how to get targeted backlinks for a review affiliate site or in general how to increase the organic targeted buyers traffic? Thank youD.0 -
What is the best way to boost no. of quality sites linking in?
Analysing my site ranking compared to competitors, I see that our weakness is getting others to share our content and link into it via their own blogs and social media - although I would say our social media activity is pretty good. We have also worked on getting listed free on relevant sites related to our product area (learn spanish in spain) in order to increase sites linking but this is still minute compared to our 2 main competitors. (As a note: paid listings are not totally justifiable for us at this point in time but perhaps in the future we will expand on this). Am I missing something here?

Amazon Niche Sites Or Adsense Niche Sites Or CPA Niche Sites for 2000$/month ?
Hello Seo Moz guys, I'm new in SEOMOZ Comunity but I have about 2 years experience in internet marketing. I build 5 websites with google adsense, all of them with about 50 articles, 1k+ backlinks, about 1$-1,5$ cpc, and in average 300 visitors per day. I monetize these sites only with google adsense. ( A LOT OF WORK I can say in manual way, I don't have automate or semi-automate tools for SEO-Link Building ) I didn't make more than 200$ per month and I want to make 2000$/month from online to be really happy. Can anyone suggest me a resource, a course, ANYTHING to improve my earnings? also, I want to change the business model from advertisements to affiliate marketing. I am in clickbank team and amazon asociates from 1 month and I didn't even make more than 30$ yet :)) Please please please, I want a good response, a respectable person to answer me 🙂 Thank you so much!

Duplicate versions of pages on my site are getting indexed by Google...I think...
Hello, Our site has a very high bounce rate, which in part is down to a slightly old fashioned design, and also because we are a retailer and I imagine many visitors are simply quickly comparing prices and then leaving. However, having had a look in Google Analytics, I think that there is another issue that is contributing to a very high bounce rate. When I look in Content > Top Content, and order the pages in order of Bounce Rate, high to low, there are hundreds of instances of pages with just one or two visits in the last month, and a 100% bounce rate. The links are the same as our home page or pages on our website, but with extra letters and numbers at the end of the url. We have an affiliate scheme, which provides our affiliates with unique codes for the products they want to link to, and my guess is that these urls are getting indexed. I've looked at a few other links, and they go to translated versions of a page from our website, generated by Google. Other urls seem to have been generated by search results from our own search on the website. What worries me is that there are lots and lots of versions of the same page, with slightly different urls. I am by no means an SEO expert - I work for a very small company and am basically learning as I go - but I know that duplicate content is bad news. If the pages were on our own site, we could use 301s to redirect, but what about translated versions, or urls generated by affiliate schemes, or search results? Many thanks, Sophy
