Targeting multiple geo locations with single site

I am working on a project for three countries , i have geotargeted the the root directory to one location , and 2 sub directories to the other 2 locations, its been more than a month but i dont see google acknowledging the same for the 2 sub directories while its has updated for root domain. Additional can you please share some tips for ranking a domain in gulf countries like UAE , saudi etc . because the regular stuff like directory submission doesnt seem to be working.
Would really appreciate ya suggestions & ideas

Using hreflang is ideal for your situation with all your sites are in English. You may wish have have one site as a the default english language site and the other two targeted to specific countries (in this example UK and US).
Here's example of hreflang implementation to place in the head of your pages.
I would tread very carefully if using canonical with hreflang as Google no longer recommends it, although it doesn't rule it out comepletely either! Subdirectories for all locations are in the same language i.e English so , in this hreflang tag applicable for this .Will this also eliminate the content duplicacy issue as I tried rel= canonical tag , But I believe doing so stop indexing of the canonicalized pages , which I do not want .Thanks.....

Have you created a site map for each of your sub-directories and set a geographic target for each in GWT? In addition, depending on your content, and if you are duplicating it across the three countries, this may be an opportunity to make use of hreflang in order that you can tell Google which pages are alternatives of one another in order that the correct ones in served in SERPs.

301 redirect single page
I have a popular page on one domain and I did 301 redirect of it to another domain. Just one single page. Both the sites are very related to each other. Will the backlinks get transferred? Its been more than a week but nothing shows up in webmaster tools.

Backlinks vs multiple domains
Hello, Our main website is setup on a .com domain and a .ca is setup as a 301 Permanent redirection to the .com. We just signed up to Majestic and found that we had a bunch of backlink linking to the .ca instead of the .com. My question is, is the SEO juice (for DA) being passed by from the .ca to the .com or I should start contacting those websites to get the backlink changed to .com? Thanks

Free tool which includes a link back to my site
On one of my sites I provide a free tool to other webmasters to use that allows them to copy some code to use the free tool on their website and under the tool on it says "Powered by: mysite.co.uk" with a link to "mysite.co.uk". Now I have no real control over which sites can come and use this free tool (a tool to test how fast an internet connection is), on the whole though it is aimed at a specific niche but a range of sites do use it which means good or crap sites can pick up the free code to place into their sites. The link to mysite.co.uk is now always mysite.co.uk as the anchor text, I used to use the websites name (which is the actual name of the URL - link to site at end of post) so the links were keyword rich but only to my sites genuine name, however I now just leave it as the URL to my site. I am not aiming to do anything untowards with the linking other than to get the acknowledgement that it was provided for free by my site, however I'm wondering if google etc will be able to tell they are natural and not dodgy? Links from spam sites
Hi! Thank you in advance for your help. Few months ago we suffered a content spam attack. Now, We have discovered that we have imbound links pointing the spam content from external spam and untrusted sites. Could be this affect our ranking? In this case... How can we notify to Google that we refuse these imbound links? Cheers, Luis

How should I promote my local service site?
I am in the process of promoting my local service site at http://winecountrycarpet.com and I was wondering what you guys would recommend? i have submitted to a lot of directories and get any backlink I can. I have also started writing articles and submitting them to sooper articles and Ezine articles, but I feel like I am doing something wrong. I am open to any suggestions.

So I ran into a site that was not ranking 4 days ago and has over 2 million links to it on some keywords. My guess is this is a link bomb, but the issue is this is pushing one of my sites down. Does anyone know a good way to over come a bomb like this?
So I ran http://www.riogrande.com/ into this site not that long ago and wanted to see if any other SEO's have an opinion on it. I've seen a Google bomb before, but the amount of links going into this URL is insane. The thing is how does one over come a Google Bomb? Do you just wait to see what Google does or do you just hope to rank under that URL? I should also note that it appears that all the keywords to it are relevant to the sites content. Site content creation
I have a new customer that wants to build a comprehensive website to provide dental health information. However, he's a busy dentist and can't develop all the content himself. He particularly likes what mercola.com (http://articles.mercola.com/sites/current.aspx or http://blogs.mercola.com/sites/vitalvotes/default.aspx) is doing to provide content from other sources. At first I thought this could be a good thing and that we could setup some Google Alerts that would alert us to new content related to specific topic areas and then post excerpts and links to the original source of the content. But now I'm concerned that we'll get penalized for this. Can you give me some advice on how to go about getting new/fresh content on a new website that doesn't require someone to write it all themselves? Thank you!
