Can you change the websites in your PRO Dashboard?
-
Hello,
I set a client's website in one of my 5 campaigns in my Pro Dashboard. But my client changed his domain. I don't see an option to change the domain server in the Campaign settings.
Is it possible?
-
Interesting. Keep us posted, will you Eblan? I'm curious to know how this works out.
-
I really hope I'm wrong & Jesse's right, but as I say - not how it's worked for me. I think you're safest to do both and cover your bases as you say. Worst case, all works as you hope and you can just delete the campaign I suggested.
I'm sure I saw a similar question which the Moz staff responded to saying the domain redirect wouldn't work, but haven't' been able o find it for you.
Good luck!
Paul

I will try this for sure once I have no campaigns left. Thank you very much for your time Nakul.
-
Thanks a lot Paul,
I guess I will do both. Just want to try Jesse's idea and verify it if I can. As usual, your info is of great help. I think I should set up the new campaign ASAP like you suggested, it is better for me and my client. Can't risk all the valuable info to get wasted.
Cheers!

Unfortunately, in my experience it's not going to work the way you hope (and assume), Eblan. Even with the redirects in place, it hasn't worked that way for me.
For example a clients site was domain.ca and they switched to domain.com. The campaign no longer collects data for the on-page reports for the original domain.
My advice would be, if you have any campaign slots left, create a new campaign for the new domain right away, so it can begin collecting data as soon as possible. Then if the old campaign drops out as I suspect, you'll have the new one up and running with as little lost data as possible (You can copy/paste keyword lists etc across from campaign to campaign).
The old campaign can be archived to free up another slot when you need it, but still keep the data available for future reference if you need to go back to it. That is to say, don't delete the old campaign, but archive it instead.
And if it turns out I'm wrong and the redirects work for you, you can just nuke the recently created campaign and get a free slot back.

No new info yet. I guess i'll wait for the next crawl this thursday. What you say makes a lot of sense though.
thanks Jesse!

You might want to email help@seomoz.org with your campaign old domain and new domain and they "might" be able to help.
-
I don't see why not. Roger should follow your redirects just like any bot would. I'm assuming your campaign is still reporting normal stats? OSE working with the old domain, advising that it's redirecting?
-
The site is completely redirected to the new domain. Does this mean I can keep my current campaign? would be nice.
-
As far as I know, you will have to delete the campaign and start over. But I must ask.. did your client not redirect the domain?

When using Moz Pro do I want Google-UK or -GB as default and why?
Hi. When using Moz Pro, I always select Google UK as default search with GB and US next. Is there a reason to choose one over the other? If so why? I am UK based and so are my clients. Thanks

Can I setup SEOmoz PRO's 3 organic traffic metrics within Google Analytics (as custom reports)?
I like the 3 organic traffic metrics in SEOmoz PRO: 1) Organic Search Visits
Moz Pro | | AndreVanKets
2) URLs Receiving Entrances Via Search
3) Non-Paid Keywords Sending Search Visits They rock - especially for a high-level view of SEO / Organic performance. Is it possible to setup these metrics as custom reports directly in Analytics? Does anyone have these reports setup? Or maybe there are similar custom reports that give a similar high-level view?0 -

Merged websites issue
Hi Before my time, company big.com took over company small.com. They decided to replicate big.com web pages onto small.com - so both websites have identical pages and copy, just different domains. Within the small.com sitmap.xml they list only big.com urls. They are also using big.com google analytics tracking code on small.com. I have no idea what happened to the original content on small.com or if they put 301 redirects on. I am thinking: do a 301 redirect on small domain to big domain. A) Agree? Small domain is likely to have valuable historic inbound links which are now going to 404 pages. After I do the 301 should these then appear in big.com SEOMoz campaign and on big.com webmaster tool for me to fix? B) Views? Or should I get up webmaster tool on small.com and fix that first? C) Views? Many thanks in advance guys, sorry its a long statement! Richard

Quote "There is no SEO software that can help optimize a site"
Hi all I am a developer for a small agency in the UK. I am using SEOmoz for a couple of our clients and I am also using it to learn from. So far I am finding it a great tool and this forum is also incredibly helpful. Now I also visit another forum called HighRankings.com and this months newsletter is a list of points that are defined as "SEO Mistakes". In it, point number 2 reads: "Repeat after me: There is no specific number of times a keyword phrase should be used in my content. There is no magic number of words that my pages should have written on them. And there is no best number of words or phrases that belong in a Title tag. And most of all: There is no SEO software that can optimize my website (despite the claims of their creators). Use your common sense to optimize your site! Learn how your target audience searches for products, services and information such as yours, and write about it accordingly on your website. Then write to make an emotional connection with your visitors so that they'll convert into happy customers." Now as a user of SEOmoz I wondered what others thought of this comment? Many thanks for reading. Kris

Can I change the crawl day ?
Hi All I hope there is a simple solution to this - we have a number of campaigns setup which are all crawled, and therefore updated, on different days of the week. We review these weekly and it would be much easier if they were all crawled on the same day. Is it possible to change the crawl day for some campaigns? Thanks Roy

How can I clean up my crawl report from duplicate records?
I am viewing my Crawl Diagnostics Report. My report is filled with data which really shouldn't be there. For example I have a page: http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/ This is a main forum page. It contains a list of many threads. The list can be sorted on many values. The page is canonicalized, and has been since it was created. My crawl report shows this page listed 15 times. http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/?direction=asc http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/?direction=desc http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/?order=post_date and so forth. Each of those pages uses the same canonicalization reference shared above. I have three questions: Why is this data appearing in my crawl report? These pages are properly canonicalized. If these pages are supposed to appear in the report for some reason, how can I remove them? My desire is to focus on any pages which may have an issue which needs to be addressed. This site has about 50 forum pages and when you add an extra 15 pages per forum, it becomes a lot harder to locate actionable data. To make matters worse, these forum indexes often have many pages. So if I have a "Corvette" forum there that is 10 pages long, then there will be 150 extra pages just for that particular forum in my crawl report. Is there anything I am missing? To the best of my knowledge everything is set up according to the best SEO practices. If there is any other opinions, I would like to hear them.
