Help! Pages not being indexed
-
Hi Mozzers, I need your help.
Our website (www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com) stopped being indexed in search engines following a round of major changes to URLs and content. There were a number of dead links for a few days before 301 redirects were properly put in place. And now, only 3 pages show up in bing when I do the search "site:barnettcapitaladvisors.com". A bunch of pages show up in Google for that search, but they're not any of the pages we want to show up.Our home page and most important services pages are nowhere in search results.
What's going on here?
Our sitemap is at http://www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com/sites/default/files/users/AndrewCarrillo/sitemap/sitemap.xml
Robots.txt is at: http://www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com/robots.txtThanks!

Thanks for the help! The Screaming Frog site crawler really makes it much easier to understand the robots.txt file. It looks like it was set to "disallow" robots.

Nothing really to "resolve" this.
those tools could simply provide you with cues and signs to figure out what went wrong and when... traffic and referral data on those pages could also indicate when they exactly stopped appearing in search and you can the correlate that with your dev actions if you do have some memory or log of those steps taken and backtrack and find out what was set wrong.
So you see absolutely no errors no messages nothing in GWT per this old post?
if you are using drupal, check this thread about it, it may well be your problem...
also see the very bottom of this page that may help you diagnose if you have a setting wrong in your robots file.

Hi Brien
The X-Robots tag has set many of your pages to noindex, nofollow. X-Robots is delivered as part of the HTTP response header so you won't find it in your HTML code.
In addition to that, your canonical tags are a little confused: the homepage canonical tag is set to
http://barnettcapitaladvisors.com/miami-financial-advisor-south-florida-financial-planner
when it should be barnettcapitaladvisors.com
I found these things by using Screaming Frog site crawler.
In your Robots file you're not allowing Yandex or Baidu to crawl the site - are you aware of this?
Have your developer correct the X-Robots and canonical issues.

Yes, I've searched Google Webmaster Tools and see a big dropoff in impressions on 5/4/13.
There are 14 pages in the sitemap that should be showing up. But, instead, what's getting indexed (9 pages in Google and 2 of the 3 pages in Bing) are pages that aren't in the sitemap -- ones that were created and then taken down or that we don't care to be indexed.
Yes, some of the URLs are new (three weeks ago) and that may be why they haven't appeared yet, but what about the home page? That isn't a new URL and it isn't appearing. Also, one new URL (which is also one of the important services pages that we want to appear) is appearing in bing: www.barnettcapitaladvisors.com/wealth-management but the other ones are not.I use analytics as well, but what particularly in Google Analytics will help me resolve this?
-
have you checked your google/bing webmasters tool yet? that often will give you the best answer in these situations?
Do you use analytics? Have you checked that as well?
if any pages do show up when you site search your domain on google, then you are being indexed, if pages you made are too new, it may take some time for them to become available in google's SERPs
it all just depends, how long has it been?
I see only 2 links in bing results for your site, but for google we have 9 results, how many should it be? 14?

Pages not indexable?
Hello, I've been trying to find out why Google Search Console finds these pages non-indexable: https://www.visitflorida.com/en-us/eat-drink.html https://www.visitflorida.com/en-us/florida-beaches/beach-finder.html Moz and SEMrush both crawl the pages and show no errors but GSC comes back with, "blocked by robots.txt" but I've confirmed it is not. Anyone have any thoughts? 6AYn1TL

Issues with getting a web page indexed
Hello friends, I am finding it difficult to get the following page indexed on search: http://www.niyati.sg/mobile-app-cost.htm It was uploaded over two weeks back. For indexing and trouble shooting, we have already done the following activities: The page is hyperlinked from the site's inner pages and few external websites and Google+ Submitted to Google (through the Submit URL option) Used the 'Fetch and Render' and 'Submit to index' options on Search Console (WMT) Added the URL on both HTML and XML Sitemaps Checked for any crawl errors or Google penalty (page and site level) on Search Console Checked Meta tags, Robots.txt and .htaccess files for any blocking Any idea what may have gone wrong? Thanks in advance!

Google showing https:// page in search results but directing to http:// page
We're a bit confused as to why Google shows a secure page https:// URL in the results for some of our pages. This includes our homepage. But when you click through it isn't taking you to the https:// page, just the normal unsecured page. This isn't happening for all of our results, most of our deeper content results are not showing as https://. I thought this might have something to do with Google conducting searches behind secure pages now, but this problem doesn't seem to affect other sites and our competitors. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how we get around it?

Can you noindex a page, but still index an image on that page?
If a blog is centered around visual images, and we have specific pages with high quality content that we plan to index and drive our traffic, but we have many pages with our images...what is the best way to go about getting these images indexed? We want to noindex all the pages with just images because they are thin content... Can you noindex, follow a page, but still index the images on that page? Please explain how to go about this concept.....

132 pages reported as having Duplicate Page Content but I'm not sure where to go to fix the problems?
I am seeing “Duplicate Page Content” coming up in our
Technical SEO | | danatanseo
reports on SEOMOZ.org Here’s an example: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/williams-sound-ppa-r35-e http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/aphex-230-master-voice-channel-processor http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/AT-AE4100.prod These three pages are for completely unrelated products.
They are returning “200” status codes, but are being identified as having
duplicate page content. It appears these are all going to the home page, but it’s
an odd version of the home page because there’s no title. I would understand if these pages 301-redirected to the home page if they were obsolete products, but it's not a 301-redirect. The referring page is
listed as: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/cd-duplicators None of the 3 links in question appear anywhere on that page. It's puzzling. We have 132 of these. Can anyone help me figure out
why this is happening and how best to fix it? Thanks!0 -
Google indexing tags help
Hey everyone, So yesterday someone pointed out to me that Google is indexing tags and that will likely hurt search engine results. I just did a "site:thetechblock.com" and I notice that tags are still being pulled. http://d.pr/i/WmE6 Today, I went into my Yoast settings and checked "noindex, follow" tags in the Taxomomies settings. I just want to make sure what I'm doing is right. http://d.pr/i/zmbd Thanks guys
