WMT reporting big drop in links today

Has anyone else noticed a huge drop in inbound links in WMT tools today? I've seen a 50% slump overnight in 2 of my projects. Definitely something still stirring over at the Google data centres!

absolutely agree, I dont take Google WMT as the real measure of actual links, but its a pretty accurate barometer of what Google will use to rank your site.
Bing webmaster tools show the same figures today as they did yesterday, so they are still there but google WMT has obviously thought again about which it will index/recognise for link juice.

It does happen from time to time with GWT where you see a large loss in backlink data.
My advice is to track your backlinks profile with OSE, Majestic and Ahrefs. It is best to monitor numerous sources rather than just relying on one source, as GWT will only ever show a sample of your full link profile.

Massive unexplained organic traffic drop; disappeared from Google

Our site has experienced a huge organic traffic drop, specifically from Google. The drop occurred on Feb 19 and I've got no clue why it happened. We have not made any significant changes to the website and it doesn't look like there was an algorithm update last week. We don't have any Google penalties or indexing issues noted, and the drop isn't specific to any particular segment/region/keyword. What am I missing? Any advice or insight is super duper appreciated. Google analytics realtime reporting same keywords with different capitalization
I was just looking in my analytics and I saw something I have never seen before. Maybe its old news but its new to me. I have attached a screen shot. I have 2 keywords listed which are the same but are capitalized different scrabble dictionary Scrabble dictionary Does Google really consider these different? PlstfwR

How do i know if my links are being classed as spammy?
I have recently notice that a lot of my domains are dropping positions where they have been in a solid position for nearly a year which was good 🙂

Gathering Data on Link Removal and Disavow Tool
Hi, There is so much opinion out there about Link Removal and Google's Disavow Tool, but it's really hard to get hold of reliable data about what people are actually doing in this area. Through my involvement in rmoov, I've become really interested in participation and cleanup rates when it comes to Link Removal campaigns. So, I've put together a quick survey aimed at getting a real indication of what is happening out there. The survey is here The recent introduction of Google's Disavow Tool has opened up another area I'd really like to understand more, so there is a question on this included. I'd love to pull together a blog post with a decent snapshot of participation, success or failure for those trying to remove links and hope Moz Members might help out by answering this quick survey. HELP! 75% Drop in Traffic with no Explaination
Hello Everyone, After looking at one of my websites, http://pokeronamac.com/ I noticed that there is a significant drop in all traffic to my site. I cannot figure out what the exact source is, as we received no warnings in WMT, and as far as I know there are no major updates released in the last week or so by Google. I took a look at the content section of GA and I saw that virtually all of my content was seeing a decrease in traffic, meaning that it isn't specific to a few pages, which leads me to believe that it is an algorithmic penalty. My confusion was that there was no changes made to the website in the past few months, although, on September 10th (5 days after traffic dropped) I updated the meta descriptions and titles site wide. I don't believe that the penalty is from Panda or Penguin because we actually experienced a positive influx in traffic during the week of April 25th. I'd appreciate any insights into helping me recover from this so I can get the visits again that I had before. If any other metrics are required, i'd gladly provide them. Hi there! we are all aware about the importance of user behaviour in search results. But I am a bit short of ideas in how a good report/analysis of this specific topic would be. So far, I have managed to do the following: Usability tests and anlysis using tools like crazy egg, in order to check how is the traffic flow and the call to actions to the best products regarding people who come from SEO traffic. GA analysis focused on: bounce rate, page views and traffic flow Is there anything else you would add to these two items to get the most out of this topic? thanks a lot in advance!!
