      Hello here,

I am trying to find out how I can filter out pages in Google Analytics according to their bounce rate.

The way I am doing now is the following:

      1. I am working inside the Content > Site Content > Landing Pages report

      2. Once there, I click the "advanced" link on the right of the filter field.

      3. Once there, I define to "include" "Bounce Rate" "Greater than" "0.50" which should show me which pages have a bounce rate higher of 0.50%.... instead I get the following warning on the graph:

"Search constraints on metrics can not be applied to this graph"

I am afraid I am using the wrong approach... any ideas are very welcome!

      Thank you in advance.

Thank you Lynn, yes sorry, I meant 50% not 0.50% (I got confused with the conversion rate). Yes, I didn't notice that the data under the graph was actually updated, looks like it is just the graph that doesn't show that kind of filtered data (too bad!).

Thank you again, I appreciated your help!

I would also look into sorting the data by the metrics you want, and using weighted sort instead of the default. Weighted sort takes into account other metrics as well - so this way, when you sort by bounce rate, it doesn't just show you 100% bounce rate at the top, even if that page only has 1 view and so is skewed, but gives you a much better idea at pages that are performing poorly and actually getting visits.

You can read more about weighted sort here on the GA blog - http://analytics.blogspot.co.il/2010/08/introducing-weighted-sort.html

            Hope this helps,

            Mark

              Hi Fabrizio,

If you put 50 in the 'bounce rate greater than box' instead of 0.5 then the table shown below the graph shows the data you want (only bounce rates over 50%, I think that is what you are after right?). I guess the graph cannot be show this filtered data although you can click the 'select a metric' link next to the visits dropdown on the top/left of the graph and add bounce rate to see the average bounce rate by visits/day if that helps with getting a baseline.

Would You Redirect a Page if the Parent Page was Redirected?

Hi everyone! Let's use this as an example URL: https://www.example.com/marvel/avengers/hulk/ We have done a 301 redirect for the "Avengers" page to another page on the site. Sibling pages of the "Hulk" page live off "marvel" now (ex: /marvel/thor/ and /marvel/iron-man/). Is there any benefit in doing a 301 for the "Hulk" page to live at /marvel/hulk/ like it's sibling pages? Is there any harm long-term in leaving the "Hulk" page under a permanently redirected page? Thank you! Matt

Google does not want to index my page

I have a site that is hundreds of page indexed on Google. But there is a page that I put in the footer section that Google seems does not like and are not indexing that page. I've tried submitting it to their index through google webmaster and it will appear on Google index but then after a few days it's gone again. Before that page had canonical meta to another page, but it is removed now.

Should I use noindex or robots to remove pages from the Google index?

I have a Magento site and just realized we have about 800 review pages indexed. The /review directory is disallowed in robots.txt but the pages are still indexed. From my understanding robots means it will not crawl the pages BUT if the pages are still indexed if they are linked from somewhere else. I can add the noindex tag to the review pages but they wont be crawled. https://www.seroundtable.com/google-do-not-use-noindex-in-robots-txt-20873.html Should I remove the robots.txt and add the noindex? Or just add the noindex to what I already have?

Is Google able to see child pages in our AJAX pagination?

We upgraded our site to a new platform the first week of August.  The product listing pages have a canonical issue.  Page 2 of the paginated series has a canonical pointing to page 1 of the series.  Google lists this as a "mistake" and we're planning on implementing best practice (https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2013/04/5-common-mistakes-with-relcanonical.html)  We want to implement rel=next, prev. The URLs are constructed using a hashtag and a string of query parameters.  You'll notice that these parameters are  &parameter:value vs &parameter=value. /products#facet:&productBeginIndex:0&orderBy:&pageView:grid&minPrice:&maxPrice:&pageSize:& None of the URLs are included in any indexed URLs because the canonical is the page URL without the AJAX parameters.  So these results are expected. Screamingfrog only finds the product links on page 1 and doesn't move to page 2.  The link to page 2 is AJAX.  ScreamingFrog only crawls AJAX if its in Google's deprecated recommendations as far as I know. The "facet" parameter is noted in search console, but the example URLs are for an unrelated URL that uses the "?facet=" format.  None of the other parameters have been added by Google to the console.  Other unrelated parameters from the new site are in the console. When using the fetch as Google tool, Google ignores everything after the "#" and shows only the main URL.  I tested to see if it was just pulling the canonical of the page for the test, but that was not the case. None of the "#facet" strings appear in the Moz crawl I don't think Google is reading the "productBeginIndex" to specify the start of a page 2 and so on.  One thought is to add the parameter in search console, remove the canonical, and test one category to see how Google treats the pages. Making the URLs SEO friendly (/page2.../page3) is a heavy lift. Any ideas how to diagnose/solve this issue?

Substantial difference between Number of Indexed Pages and Sitemap Pages

Hey there, I am doing a website audit at the moment. I've notices substantial differences in the number of pages indexed (search console), the number of pages in the sitemap and the number I am getting when I crawl the page with screamingfrog (see below). Would those discrepancies concern you? The website and its rankings seems fine otherwise. Total indexed: 2,360 (Search Consule)
About 2,920 results (Google search "site:example.com")
                Sitemap: 1,229 URLs
                Screemingfrog Spider: 1,352 URLs Cheers,
                Jochen

Google indexing only 1 page out of 2 similar pages made for different cities

We have created two category pages, in which we are showing products which could be delivered in separate cities. Both pages are related to cake delivery in that city. But out of these two category pages only 1 got indexed in google and other has not. Its been around 1 month but still only Bangalore category page got indexed. We have submitted sitemap and google is not giving any crawl error. We have also submitted for indexing from "Fetch as google" option in webmasters. www.winni.in/c/4/cakes (Indexed - Bangalore page - http://www.winni.in/sitemap/sitemap_blr_cakes.xml) 2. http://www.winni.in/hyderabad/cakes/c/4 (Not indexed - Hyderabad page - http://www.winni.in/sitemap/sitemap_hyd_cakes.xml) I tried searching for "hyderabad site:www.winni.in" in google but there also http://www.winni.in/hyderabad/cakes/c/4 this link is not coming, instead of this only www.winni.in/c/4/cakes is coming. Can anyone please let me know what could be the possible issue with this?

Blocking Pages Via Robots, Can Images On Those Pages Be Included In Image Search

Hi! I have pages within my forum where visitors can upload photos.  When they upload photos they provide a simple statement about the photo but no real information about the image, definitely not enough for the page to be deemed worthy of being indexed.  The industry however is one that really leans on images and having the images in Google Image search is important to us. The url structure is like such:  domain.com/community/photos/~username~/picture111111.aspx I wish to block the whole folder from Googlebot to prevent these low quality pages from being added to Google's main SERP results.  This would be something like this: User-agent: googlebot Disallow: /community/photos/ Can  I disallow Googlebot specifically rather than just using User-agent:  * which would then allow googlebot-image to pick up the photos?  I plan on configuring a way to add meaningful alt attributes and image names to assist in visibility, but the actual act of blocking the pages and getting the images picked up... Is this possible? Thanks! Leona

Is 404'ing a page enough to remove it from Google's index?

We set some pages to 404 status about 7 months ago, but they are still showing in Google's index (as 404's). Is there anything else I need to do to remove these?
