Forward DNS Please HEEEELLLLPPPPPPP!!!
-
Sorry if I'm asking a rookie question here, I'm a hobbyist not a pro. I purchased a domain from Dodaddy and it's hosted on Network Solutions. We are now adding a shopping cart and need to create the subdomain shop.mydomain.com and forward the DNS to Volusion.
I assumed this is done at Godaddy, where I purchased the domain. I called and they told me that Network Solutions needs to do it. I called NS and they told me GD had to do it. I called GD again hoping to get a different answer, but NOPE... guess what??? "everyone knows that it's done by whoever is hosting the site." UUUUGGGG
So PLEASE let me know WHO has this responsibility???? Hopefully everyone has a common answer.
I still believe it's done at GD.
Thanks Everyone

Don't you hate when you get support like that?!
Anywho, you forward the DNS of your sub domain at GoDaddy.
To Edit a Subdomain
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- From the Tools menu, select DNS Manager. The DNS Dashboard displays.
- For the domain name with the subdomain you want to edit, click Edit Zone. The Zone File Editor displays.
- In the A (Host) section, click the subdomain you want to edit.
- Edit any of the following fields:
- Host — Enter the subdomain you want to use. Type @ to map the record directly to your domain name, including thewww.
- Points to — Enter the IP address you want the subdomain to point to.
- TTL — Select how long the server should cache the information.
- Click Save Zone File, and then click OK.
Hope that helps!

Duplicate Content with ADN, DNS and F5 URLs
In my duplicate content report, there are URLs showing as duplicate content. All of the pages work, they do not redirect, and they are used for either IT debugging or as part of a legacy system using a split DNS, QAing the site, etc... They aren't linked (or at least, shouldn't be) on any pages, and I am not seeing them in Search Results, but Moz is picking them up. Should I be worried about duplicate content here and how should I handle them? They are replicates of the current live site, but have different subdomains. We are doing clean up before migrating to a new CMS, so I'm not sure it's worth fixing at this point, or if it is even an issue at all. But should I make sure they are in robots or take any action to address these? Thanks!

So by looking at my service area I came up with this url. http://www.signsny.com/brooklyn-ny/awnings this is my current url. http://www.signsny.com/sign-types/awnings-canopies-brooklyn-NYC. This is what I am planning to change it to. Please guide me to the right direction, so in future I don't have to re-do them again. Thanks Abie

Domain Forwarding / Multiple Domain Names / or Rebuild Blogs on them
I am considering forwarding 3 very aged and valuable domain names to my main site. There were once over 100 blog posts on each blog and each one has a page authority of 45 and domain authority of 37. My question is should i put up three blogs on the domains and link them to my site or should i just forward the domains to my main site? Which will provide me with more value. I have the capability to have some one blog on them every day. However, i do not have access to any of the old blog posts. I guess i could scrape it of archive.org. Any advice would be appreciated. Magento CMS Block Issue --- Help Please
Good Morning, We have a Magento shopping cart based site running on RedHat version of Linux. We had a CMS block created for the homepage of http://goo.gl/JgK1e designed to be visible only on the homepage only and nowhere else. We copied the entire site structure onto a new URL http://goo.gl/XUH3f . (this one running on CentOS) and have an odd situation on our hands... Even though the CMS block “static_after_footer_block” is “enabled”, it either completely disappears (moments later), or whenever it does display, it is visible in ALL levels of the site (not just the homepage it was designed for) Other than this anomaly, the site seems to be operating correctly… Anyone out there with some insight? Thanks!

Buddy Press Nightmare Please Help
I had several pages that were in the top five spots on google and the only thing I changed on my site was adding buddypress so I can have a social community. I checked my campaign and realized I had 560 errors with duplicate content and my rankings dropped down passed 50 spots. Huge drop. I am taking buddypress down but does anyone know how to fix the duplicate content issue. 1. Do I just delete all the pages? 2. 301 redirect them to home? Any help would be amazing. Thanks

Switching to another CMS with different permalink structure, how not to lose organic traffic and Google rankings? Urgent Please!
One of my customers is in online jewellery sales business and they are going to change their CMS; the problem is there is no co-relation between URL permalink structure of the current CMS and the new one. What should we do so that we don’t lose our current organic traffic (also Google rankings) coming from indexed URLs in Google due to permalink structure change ? Typical example: Current URL: http://www.abc.com/pirlanta-nedir,AR-3.html The new URL is going to look like this: http://www.abc.com/tek-tas-pirlanta-ar-4.html
