Why do the crawl diagnostics indicate duplicate page content among blog postings hosted by WordPress?
-
Does anyone know why the crawl diagnostics indicate duplicate page content regarding the blog we are hosting on WordPress? And does anyone know how to fix this issue? The content is not, or does not appear to be duplicate.
-
Yeah... if you're using the Wordpress platform hosted through Wordpress instead of through an independent hosting solution then you can't add plugins so you're a bit stuck on that as far as my knowledge goes.
-
I mean to .com
-
I would and that's a great suggestion, but we host on wordpress.com, not .org. It's my understanding that you cannot add this plugin to .org.
Thank you for your help.

A plugin like Yoast will give you the ability to set your archives to NoIndex, Follow which should alleviate your issues.

Hi Mike,
I just changed the setting to have the homepage show a summary only- thanks for the tip!
Regarding your other points- it seems as though you are right- the category, tag an author archives are still being indexed creating this issue. Is there a way to stop them from being indexed?
Thanks!

Without more specific information like the website or pages in question I can only give you some general questions to look into... Have you checked on the specific pages that the crawls says are the duplicates? Since you're on Wordpress then it is very possibly caused by the Category archives, Tag archives, and Author archives still being Index, Follow and duplicating all of your posts. Also, do you have your blog set to show the full post or previews on the homepage and archive pages?

Moz is only crawling 2 pages
Hi, I found a similar thread, but it did not provide a clear-cut answer. We have had this campaign running for over a year, and we are always adding content to the website, but Moz is only ever able to crawl 2 pages, Screaming Frog only picks up 12, but I know there is a lot more than that. None of our pages are set to no-index, so I do not know what is causing this. Welcoming any ideas/solutions. Thanks

What is Considered Duplicate Content by Crawlers?
I am asking this because I have a couple of site audit tools that I use to crawl a site I work on every week and they are showing duplicate content issues (which I know there is a lot on this site) but some of what is flagged as duplicate content makes no sense. For example, the following URL's were grouped together as duplicate content: | https://www.firefold.com/contact-us | https://www.firefold.com/gabe | https://www.firefold.com/sale | | | How are these pages duplicate content? I am confused on what site audit tools are considering duplicate content. Just FYI, this is data from Moz crawl diagnostics but SEMrush site auditor is giving me the same type of data. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ryan

WP 4.0 Update Causing Major Duplicate Content Errors?
According to my moz analytics, my site has went through the roof with duplicate content. There's a nice Mozzer named Abe looking into this with me, but I'm wondering if it could be due to the WP 4.0 update. Has anyone else experienced an uptick like this before? I've never had any problems with the other updates. Thanks, Ruben

How Can I intreptret The Crawl Report Resulst?
Hello, I am new to Moz and I have received 2 crawl reports. The first one was ok. I made a few changes to my site plugins, and my next crawl report came up with 41 4XX errors. Basically, a lot of my posts. I went back to my plugins and saw the following plugins: 404 redirect plugin & Utlimate Tiny MCE I reactivated both. I am presuming that these must have caused the issues or maybe my site was hacked. I re ran a crawl this morning, but I don't know what the different headings mean or how to understand the report. Can anyone advise? My site is new and just started to go up the rankings...so quite disappointed with this set back. regards Chriss

How do I get Moz to crawl my site?
If I'm not mistaken, Moz will crawl my site once a week and let me know of any errors, notices etc.. But can I ask them to crawl once I have updated all the errors? or do I have to wait for them to do this automatically?
