B2B E-Commerce Link Building Strategy
-
Hello all! I was curious if anyone has had any success with a B2B E-Commerce Link Building Campaign or has any tips or ideas they would like to share? My customer base is very specific so up to this point it has been a little difficult trying to get customers and brands to link to a distributors' e-commerce site. Thanks!!

Hello Barnsco Inc.,
I would imagine that a library of high-quality how-to articles (with pictures) and especially videos would do well. For example, if you sold concrete supplies you may consider a video about how to properly tie together rebar before pouring concrete. The audience would be DIY homeowners for that type of piece. It is ok if the audience for something like this isn't exactly your prospective buyer (i.e. contractors, builders...) but it would be better if it was.
If your site is barnsco.com you have some other fish to fry. The press release talking about the new eCommerce store links with "new ecommerce store" but goes to the home page instead of the eCommerce portion of the site. Also when I clicked on a product detail page I was taken to a Runtime error page. This happened several times.
Here are a few more ideas in addition to placing helpful content on your site, as discussed above.
Join B2B industry forums and participate in a constructive way. Answer questions about your industry. Don't drop links everywhere or join a forum, post once in the welcome thread, and leave for good. Be part of the community.
Leverage the business partnerships you already have. These partnerships can come in many forms, from sister-companies and manufacturers to the local chamber of commerce, BBB, and similar but non-competing businesses.
Write high-quality articles and place them on other sites by guest posting. Visit MyBlogGuest and similar sites to find opportunities. Pay attention to their guidelines.
Although they don't have as much power as they used to, and you shouldn't overdo it, there are probably some niche B2B directories out there worth submitting to. The more exclusive and/or niche they are the better. You don't want to be on a directory that accepts everyone who coughs up the cash.

Need feedback: Should we move our blog from blogger to our e-commerce site?
Hi, I write the blog for an e-commerce site that sells swimwear www.allwetbeachwear.com. The blog is currently a blogger blog that lives off the domain. I have always thought that having a blogger blog for the site looked unprofessional yet might be good for SEO since google owns blogger. However recently we are making SEO improvements and want to create more internal links to keep up with our competitors. I am thinking an on-site blog might be good for SEO. What do you recommend for the best SEO results for our site? -keeping on blog hosted on blogger -creating a new blog on our e-commerce platform -hosting the blogger blog on a subdomain of our ecommerce site Thanks!

Backlinking / Link Building Services
Hello, Our site is struggling organically and one of the key factors (not surprisingly) is a lack of backlinks. We have hired a content writer and are working on a content strategy to generate quality, relevant backlinks. But this is more of a long term project. After reviewing backlinks to our competitors' sites, it seems clear that they are using agencies or services to generate backlinks (most coming from low quality sites). I'm aware that this isn't a good long term strategy (although it seems to be serving them well at the moment). I was hoping the community could provide some insight on products or services out there that provide "safe" backlinking strategies. I don't want to do anything that is going to harm us in the future. I've read a bit on the hoth, and it seems fairly safe and potentially effective, but it's hard find much objective advice on the topic. Any insight is much appreciated - thanks in advance! Jason

Good link building companies
I'm wondering if anyone has had good experiences with any of the link building companies out there. I'm really looking to hear about those companies who go beyond the mundane forum links, blog commenting, bulk directory submission, article directories etc. It's all been done to death. I've used webuildpages.com, they are pricey, but are good at getting high quailty links.
