Meta tags

Hello,
Does anyone know how long it takes for the meta descriptions to show up in Google?
This because I just updated my meta descriptions for the whole website, but while moz toolbar is showing it correctly, google is still showing the old ones, even if i used the see as googlebot tool from webmaster tools.
Thanks for a reply

Use the Yoast SEO plugin and focus on making your descriptions relevant with a bit of a call to action and you should be OK
-
Thanks
It means that after all the code changes in order to show the metatags properly (in wordpress its all a mess!) Google will not take it into account? Would then it be better to work on rich snippets?

Keep in mind that Google may deviate from the descriptions that you put in the description meta tag based on what it determines is best for relevancy.

thanks all!
You helped a lot! As I already did, and will keep doing, I will follow chris reply. I thought that googlebot would let the website changes be displayed in the serp as well. So this means, that, if I see correct meta description in Moz Toolbar, this should be the one that google will display once the crawl is done?
I hope so
Thanks againEugenio | Social Engagement

Google will crawl your site at an interval it sees fit based on the authority of your site and the dynamics of your content. Sites with high authority and constant changes like this one are crawled constantly, while new sites may only be crawled once every month or more--even if you submit it to google. The crawl rate choice in GWT pertains to how quickly Google will go through your site at each crawl--if the crawl rate is increased, it can bog down some web servers but it will not decrease the interval between crawls as you're hoping.
At this point, be sure you have the meta tags as you want them and continue work on your other on-page issues and work on building your authority by social networking, creating content, authorship, and back links. There's not much that happens quickly in SEO.

Just as a side note,
From what i understand Google doesn't have to show your custom written meta descriptions, if it see's some text on the page it thinks is more relevant to the general page topic, it may just display that instead anyway
Hope this helps

This depends on the site crawl - how big the site is, how often are the pages been crawled
However, what you can do is
-
Go to Webmaster, fetch as Google and submit Url and all linked pages
-
For temporary faster crawl - you can also increase the crawl rate
As per Webmaster - "Our goal is to crawl as many pages from your site as we can without overwhelming your server's bandwidth. You can change the crawl rate (the speed of Google's requests during the crawl) for sites at the root or subdomain level - for example,__**www.example.com **and **http://subdomain.example.com. **The new custom crawl rate will be valid for 90 days"

Meta Titles and Meta Descriptions are not Indexing in Google
Hello Every one, I have a Wordpress website in which i installed All in SEO plugin and wrote meta titles and descriptions for each and every page and posts and submitted website to index. But after Google crawl the Meta Titles and Descriptions shown by Google are something different that are not found in Content. Even i verified the Cached version of the website and gone through Source code that crawled at that moment. the meta title which i have written is present there. Apart from this, the same URL's are displaying perfect meta titles and descriptions which i wrote in Yahoo and Bing Search Engines. Can anyone explain me how to resolve this issue. Website URL: thenewyou (dot) in Regards,

Does adding a noindex tag reduce duplicate content?
I've been working under the assumption for some time that if I have two (or more) pages which are very similar that I can add a noindex tag to the pages I don't need and that will reduce duplicate content. As far as I know this removes the pages with the tag from Google's index and stops any potential issues with duplicate content. It's the second part of that assumption that i'm now questioning. Despite pages having the noindex tag they continue to appear in Google Search console as duplicate content, soft 404 etc. That is, new pages are appearing regularly that I know to have the noindex tag. My thoughts on this so far are that Google can still crawl these pages (although won't index them) so shows them in GSC due to a crude issue flagging process. I mainly want to know: a) Is the actual Google algorithm sophisticated enough to ignore these pages even through GSC doesn't. b) How do I explain this to a client.

Different meta descriptions for same page
Hi Depending what terms I put into Google I am seeing a different meta description for exactly the same page. I have checked Umbraco CMS and everything seems in working order. Is there a reason this would be happening? Anyone else had trouble like this?

Negative Effect of Duplicate Title Tags
Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out if one my problems with search rankings might be a result of 2 of my main pages (home page and tier 2 page linked to main menu) have the same title and description tags. Let's say my keyword is 'building paper airplanes'. The url for my homepage is http://domain.com and the Title Tag is "Building Paper Airplanes I Domain". My tier 2 page url is http://domain.com/building-paper-airplanes and the Title tag is "Building Paper Airplanes I Domain". The home page is more of an introduction page before the user gets into the instructions on the tier 2 page. Can anybody advise if this might be having a negative affect on my search results for the search term 'building paper airplanes'? Thanks.

Googleoff/on tags
Hi all, I'd like to restrict Google indexing a part of content on the page. Does tag really work for it as it described on https://developers.google.com/search-appliance/documentation/46/admin_crawl/Preparing#pagepart? Thanks, Jane

Canonical tags and internal Google search
Quick question: I want some pages that will have canonical tags, to show up in internal results for a Google site search that's built into the site. I'm not finished with the site, but is it correct to assume that pages with canonical will NOT show up in internal site search results, when powered by Google?
