Getting over that DA hump...
-
Hi All,
I have a client with a sizeable international manufacturing operation who we've managed to get up to a DA of 40 over time. However, things seem to have levelled out, and I'm not sure how to mix it up to get the numbers back on the rise.
We create regular blog and social content, run press releases bi-weekly, optimize on-page content and stay on top of all technical issues. What else can we do??
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I would suggest utilizing larger content marketing campaigns geared at the industry / vertical authorities.
At the same time, be careful to place too much weight on DA as a metric of concern. DA is a result of high level link and content strategies.
It is great for comparative purposes, and serves as a fantastic benchmark, but search revenue, CRO, acquisition and retention for your your audience is probably more important.
-
Keep in mind that DA is closer to logarithmic than linear.
It takes 10x as much work to move the needle from 40 to 50 as it did to move the needle from 30 to 40.
So, you said things seem to have "levelled out"..... Sir, the pitch has become awfully steeper and when you hit 60 the pitch becomes desperate and overhanging.

Could you detail this process a bit more?
-
David,
If you're not already, perhaps incorporate stakeholders and vertically aligned entities into your content process. By interviewing, featuring, and providing useful reasons for them, you have a good shot at building both goodwill and quality inbound inks, the latter being crucial to getting over the hump.
Good luck!

How do I get into the People Also Ask section?
Hello there, My client is not appearing in the People Also Ask section on Google for their brand name and I'm not sure why. Can anyone help or explain how you get featured into these snippets? What's weird is when you google their brand name, the People Also Ask section comes up, but they only appear in one question. The other three are from their competitors which is obviously annoying for them. Do you know how to get into the People Also Ask bit? Do I have to markup the page or is it simply based on popular questions and the best answers?

Does a root domain get SEO power from its subdomains?
Hi there! I'd appreciate your help with the following case: a) Current 10-year-old website (community) on root domain "example.com" (250,000 incoming quality-backlinks) will move to the new subdomain "newsub.example.com" (301 redirects to the new subdomain for all current subfolders) b) A new website (shop) will launch on the root domain "example.com" Question: Will the new website on "example.com" get SEO power from the old website on "newsub.example.com"? SEO power = linkjuice/authority/trust/history/etc. from the 250,000 backlinks. What I'm trying to achieve: Maintain the built-up SEO power for the root domain "example.com" Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! P.S. Plenty has been written about subdomains inheriting from their root domains (so please don't share input on the subdomain vs. subfolder debate). But I can't find satisfactory info about the other way around (root domains inheriting from their subdomains), e.g. if wikia.com gets SEO power from its subdomains superman.wikia.com, starwars.wikia.com, etc.)

DA stuck at 1 for .financial TLD domain
Hello! One of our clients has a domain with a .financial TLD. The domain id over two years old. We have been creating a lot of good content (including articles, infographics and videos) every month for over 12 months. We have also been creating backlinks and the Search Console shows a total of 1319 links to the site from 64 root domains. However, the DA and PA on Opensiteexplorer haven't moved from 1. Also the number of linking root domains shows as zero. Traffic and keyword rankings haven't picked up either. Could someone please help with why this would happen? Is there anything to do with the domain TLD of .financial? Thanks in Advance

How can I get Bing to index my subdomain correctly?
Hi guys, My website exists on a subdomain (i.e. https://website.subdomain.com) and is being indexed correctly on all search engines except Bing and Duck Duck Go, which list 'https://www.website.subdomain.com'. Unfortunately my subdomain isn't configured for www (the domain is out of my control), so searchers are seeing a server error when clicking on my homepage in the SERPs. I have verified the site successfully in Bing Webmaster Tools, but it still shows up incorrectly. Does anyone have any advice on how I could fix this issue? Thank you!

How can I get a list of every url of a site in Google's index?
I work on a site that has almost 20,000 urls in its site map. Google WMT claims 28,000 indexed and a search on Google shows 33,000. I'd like to find what the difference is. Is there a way to get an excel sheet with every url Google has indexed for a site? Thanks... Mike
