Wordpress Socialize Plugin giving me 400+ 302s. Should I be concerned?
-
Looking at my report and saw I had over 400 302s. When I looked where they came from, it seems it's from a plugin called socialize sending stuff to Facebook.
Does it matter?

Hi Kane,
I just had the same issue as Ioan Said with Twitter and Facebook social login buttons on each article. The content crawl showed that my website has 84 000 links which are 302 links. My concern is that I have only 53 000 links showing 200 response code.
In this case I have a feeling that those 302 might harm my site.
Total website links: 14 1000.
Any Ideas how to deal with this?

Hi there,
302 redirects are only an issue for links pointing to your own site. So, if you have an internal link going through a 302 redirect, that's bad. If you have a link from a blogger who mentioned you're website that is 302ing, that's bad.
If you have links on your website that are sent through a 302 redirect to another website (especially a large one like Facebook), that's not a big deal and can be disregarded.

I think it's always a bad idea to link to a 400 page. So if your site is producing links to these 400 pages then yes, that is a problem. I believe 300s are less troublesome, but if it were my site then I would eliminate as many of them as I could.

My website is quite established.
I just have loads of 302s and the links are all similar to this:
And they all direct to:
-
It depends from which pages they are coming from. 302 redirects do not pass any link juice to the new URL as Google treats is as "temporary" and not "permanet" (which is 301).
Is your site newly launched? Can you give a bit more information? You might be suffering from a 302 redirect infinite loop

Does Google give more ranking weight for Shares for One Social Network over Another.
We are using BuzzSumo to explore the types of content that generate the highest number of shares per article. Does anyone have data to suggest that a share on Google+ carries more ranking weight than a share on Twitter or Facebook, or LinkedIn? We have seen a recent case with one of our client's competitors where they significantly grew their Google+ shares within a relatively short period of time and gained a higher rank for a key search phrase that my client is also targeting. Thank you, Rosemary Brisco

What is the value of having a social media feed displayed on your website?
This is something I asked myself this evening. You see a lot of sites with a Facebook or Twitter feed displayed, but I struggle to understand their value. OK, it shows that you are active on this or that social media channel, but unless you are posting great content consistently on the social media displayed, the impact of your feed could detract from the web page it is displayed on. It could also cause a visitor to that page on your site to click away from your site into the noise and distraction of that social media channel. I don't have an issue with using social media icons to link to your channels, but they are more discreet and the sort of thing people will look for if they are interested enough in your web pages to want to connect with you. Also, social sharing icons are good, but I do not see the value in social media feeds. Do you agree or disagree? I am more than will to be persuaded otherwise. Thanks in advance,

Outsourcing social media optimization
Is it a good idea to outsource social media optimization or is it something that has to be done in-house? I understand the question is kind of vague, but what I had in mind was to have an offshore contractor post daily about individual products and try to increase our following on twitter/facebook (i.e "social footprint").

Which tool you best recommend for Social Media management, engagement, and monitoring. reputeme.com - trackur.com - viralheat.com - sproutsocial.com?
Please consider the pricing, ease of use, and accuracy, also, perhaps the social networks being monitored( as far as I am concern it's only trackur that monitors google+) Also if you have other recommendation, that would be awesome too. Thank you. PS: I love seomoz Social Media reporting, I just have other requirements too. Thanks.
