Question about setting up Google Webmaster on Network Solutions?
-
I'm trying to set myself up as a Webmaster on my company's site. We use Network Solutions. I am following Google's directions on how to do this. However, I am a bit wary. Here are the directions. Underlined is the part I am having trouble with:
-
Log in to your account for howlatthemoon.com at www.networksolutions.com by clicking theManage Account icon.
-
In the left navigation bar, open the nsWebAddress (Domains) menu by clicking the **+ **icon.
-
Click Manage Domain Names.
-
On the Domain Details page for the domain you're using, select the Designated DNS radio button (to the right of Change domain to point to) and click the Apply Changes button.
If you've previously modified your advanced DNS settings, click Edit (to the right ofDomain currently points to).
-
Under the Advanced DNS Manager heading, click Manage Advanced DNS Records.
-
Under the Text (TXT Records) heading, click Add/Edit.
-
In the Host field, enter @.
-
Leave the TTL field set to the default value.
-
In the Text field, copy and paste the following unique security token:
(security token removed for obvious reasons) -
Click Continue.
-
Review your changes and click Save Changes.
-
When you've done saving the TXT record, click the Verify button below on this page.
There is already a host of @ (None). The text for it reads:
v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all
I called Network Solutions and the guy I was speaking with told me to delete it and replace it with my Google Webmasters code. However, I think this is setting up our email. Do I just add the Webmasters in and have two hosts of @ (None)?
Thanks!

Thanks!
-
yes you can have multiple txt records for a single host.
-
It's ok that they'll have the same host (@)?
-
Leave the existing TXT record for gmail as it is and create the webmaster central one as a new, separate TXT record. (You can have multiple TXT records). It is purely so that Google can verify that you are the owner/administrator of the domain name.

Webmaster Tools and Geolocation
Our site gets a significant amount of traffic from Venezuela, about 9% based on our Google Analytics (the US being 63%). According to Webmaster Tools we get 48% of our clicks from Venezuela. That discrepancy is massive, considering we are an English site. My theory is that they are not allowed/capable of using secure search in Venezuela for some legal reason and therefore their searches are much more 'visible'. Does anyone have any insight?

Google Analytics Showing Inflated Product Revenue
Hi- For the month of Feb on two of our sites we are seeing inflated product revenues. I have not seen this before and I am not having any luck searching for answers. Here is the issue: Product B sells for $159.95 For the month of Feb we sold 3 thus revenue should be ~$479.85 GA is showing Product B's revenue at $3,360.00 I read online that sometimes folks will bookmark the receipt page and that can cause this and we would need to put a catch in place for this but I am guessing this is not the case as it is happening on two sites. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The amount of completed purchases reported in GA doesn't match the actual transaction figure via the eCommerce platform. Question:
I was wondering if anyone knows why this occurs? I have a few ideas on why however I haven't been able to locate any supporting evidence. So I was hoping to generate a few ideas from the SEOMoz community to help me investigate further. Any ideas welcome! Much thanks,

Correlation between google and yahoo indexed pages
My blog ocpatentlawyer.com has about 130 pages or so. Google has indexed most if not all of the posts and pages. In contrast, yahoo has only indexed about 1/4 of the pages and posts. Are there any actions that can be taken based on this information? For example, if i prepare a blog post should I prepare it so that it will most likely be indexed into yahoo knowing that google will also index it. If so, how can i prepare blog posts that will most likely be indexed into yahoo's index?
