Is there official Link Balance profile advice (anchor text) from Moz?
-
Hi,
We are adjusting our external Link Balance profile, but we're not 100% sure on what we should be adjusting it to in terms of Anchor text balance (branded, exact match etc)
We found this resource:
http://dashburst.com/seo-balanced-link-profile/And closer to home:
http://moz.com/blog/anchor-text-distribution-avoiding-over-optimizationBut has Moz done any actual research they can share on what is the best balance to have?
Thanks.

HI,
I don't think there is such a thing as a 'best' balance, just safer and less safe balances which can and do shift over time and through different industry verticals and niches. The dashburst article is I suppose a balanced enough approach to try to be safe(ish). Razvan at cognitiveseo has done some interesting case studies along these lines, check out here for example: http://cognitiveseo.com/blog/2522/brand-anchor-text-vs-commercial-anchor-text-ratio/
As far as I know there is no official moz research looking purely at percentage distribution of anchor texts exactly because there is no set numbers that is guaranteed to work in all verticals or for all time. Putting out exact numbers would just encourage people to chase a hypothetical best mix which is probably not the best way to go!
Hope that helps!

When a company lets you go, what is the standard practice for a moz account? Do you simply turn it over and lose all access and moz identity? Or?
Since MOZ is a community, it seems odd to simply turn over my moz account now the company has let me go. Do people typically do this and simply start a new account every time they work someplace new? Or what? I wanted to seek out what the community thought about this -- so that I would have a better idea of how to handle this now and for the next time.

How do I predict quality of inbound link before using Disavow links tool?
I am working on Ecommerce website and getting issues with bad inbound links. I am quite excited to use Disavow links tools for clean up bad inbound links and sustain my performance on Google. We have 1,70,000+ inbound links from 1000+ unique root domains. But, I have found maximum root domains with low quality content and structure. Honestly, I don't want to capture inbound links from such websites who are not active with website and publishing. I am quite excited to use Disavow links tool. But, How do I predict quality of inbound links or root domains before using it? Is there any specific criteria to grade quality of inbound links?

Duplicate content across external profiles
As a B2B business, a lot of our traffic comes from referrals, especially from profile listings and high quality directories.

I am currently updating all of our listings with content that is relevant and representative of our business. The easiest way to do this is by using one boilerplate/ presaved profile. This would be using duplicate content, would I run the risk of discrediting these backlinks to my website and suffering and Google penalties?0 -
Changing Domains - How much link juice is lost with 301 redirect?
My company is thinking about rebranding and moving over to a new domain. While we dont have a lot of backlinks, we do have some very valuable ones that we hate to lose. That being said, I think we are in such an infancy that the backlinks we have shouldnt prevent us from rebranding if thats what we choose to do. I am just trying to get an idea of how moving to a new domain will effect the domain authority if we redirect all the pages? Is the best thing to do simply re-direct, or should we reach out to our most valuable links and let them know the domain/link has changed and hopefully they change their link to us? How much is lost by simply 301 every page? We are getting around 70 organic clicks per day and would rather not start from zero again 🙂

What is the most current advice on editing your company Wikipedia page?
I've noticed a lot of incorrect and misleading information on our company Wikipedia page. Should we, as a company, be actively monitoring and updating this page when we spot factual errors. I realize wikipedia doesn't want marketeze or heavy PR on company pages, but those are the people that generally pay attention to wikipedia entries. Also, we certainly don't want to get penalized or cause any undue media attention from our edits. If possible can you also offer links to other sources rather than just opinion or personal experience, I'm having to present this to a large corporate board and want to be as detailed as possible. Thank you,

How to go about removing bad/irrelevent links?
We have been made aware of a series of irrelevant links on some rather dodgy sites. http://www.designerdogstop.com/level-static/http://www.bestfirepits.net/some-of-the-best-vacations-for-families/2010/05/05/ http://whatcigarsdoismoke.com/cigar-lighters/cigarette-cigar-2/ http://dollfuss.org/build-bear-hawaii/ Absolute rubbish im sure you will agree. These links must surely be causing our link profile some damage. They are currently wordpress sites with no means of contacting the authors. What ways and means are there of removing these negative pages and links? Cheers all, any help appreciated.
