How Would You Market A Photo Of Jay-Z Wearing Your Client's Apparel?
-
If Jay-Z was spotted wearing your client's sweatshirt, how would you maximize the marketing potential of this photo and opportunity to sell more sweatshirts?
-
If it does, or if it depicts something obvious, I'd certainly be getting that pointed to from any of the niche related forums out there. In whatever comments being made it would be nice if some unique terminology could be seeded regarding the description of the shirt he's wearing or regarding other aspects of the photo and include that unique word or phrase in the description of the garment on the client's site. That way, if someone does a search that includes that seeded word, it would help your client's site show up in the results for that search.

So do it surreptitiously and/or creatively. A paparazzi snapping a photo and then selling it to magazines or a widely available photo online is likely too wide spread for someone to have it easily removed. If you happen to reach out to a Celebrity Blogger and they mention "Looks like Jay-Z is out on the town looking good in what appears to be a {Insert clothing company} brand sweatshirt." Do you think they're going to stop the publicity? Even a facebook share of "Hey, is Jay-Z wearing one of our shirts?" without any link to your product page, just asking people what they think about it, could work. Now if you blatantly plastered photos with links saying "OMG Buy Our Sweatshirt Cause Jay-Z is wearing it!!!" then he'd probably have his people file something asking you to take it down.
-
I think you're asking for trouble with Mr Z's lawyers on that one.
If they catch you using him/his image in your advertising without expressed written consent (wearing apparel doesn't cover that), you'd be entering a world of pain.

Easy first step without even thinking... Blog post and/or outreach to well-known bloggers who specialize in star/celebrity news & gossip. Also shares of images & links to the related blog posts on every social media outlet we have an account/page on.

We've a client that wants to repurpose some of the content on there site but not lose rankings. However its changing the content to an alternative to ....
The Current URL Example would be test.co.uk/prodcut-catogory/product-1 . This side of the business is being sold however they have products elsewhere in the range that can be used as alternatives to the product range that will be moved, so they want to amend these pages with an " alternative " slant. Example idea would be to change to the following : test.co.uk/prodcut-catogory/alternative-to-product-1, trying not to change the URL to much, keeping the majority of the content the same but adding new copy stating the benefits of using the alternative product. So it becomes a comparison between the two. I appreciate I will have to amend the URLs, titles, meta, H1s, add new copy & preform a 301's. Option 2 Simply write a second page which is all brand new content talking about it being an alternative to the products and doing a 301 from the original page but not amending that. Be great to get peoples feedback on this approach and if there is anything else that I could do to minimise the drop in rankings once I complete the changes. Thank you D

Individual statistics (not aggregated) for 'local pack' and 'organic search results' when both on the same page
Hi, For a particular keyword combination we show up on the local pack but also on the organic search results on the 1st page. I have never been able to find out what the CTR, #clicks, conversions for this two different kinds of positions are individually. The aggregate figures I can find out in Google Search Console / Analytics, but I would like to know on an individual level as I am testing out different things. With the statistics on Google My Business I can't get along actually...no CTR as far as i know. Any hint? Cheers, Cesare

Good examples of video marketing by service businesses?
Do you know of any service businesses (ie not software or SaaS) that uses video marketing effectively?

Especially any company offering more than one service. Just for example, a training company of any kind. Literally anything that comes to mind will help me so, so much. My Google-fu is failing me on this one.0 -
Does the word next to domain gives more relevancy to the page of it's URL?
Whether putting a (category or brand) word next to domain is better than on the end of an URL? (i.e. domain.com/sony/tvs or domain.com/tv/sony) Which one would get higher result on SERP "tv" or "sony" in both cases? Or maybe they both serves the same?

Video Keno gambling SEO client !? Do I want em?
I have a guy who wants SEO help. Actually he owns several companies and is willing to put my ad before all the movies in a local theater plus an ad AND a Q&A section about SEO and Internet marketing in a small newspaper he mails to 7k businesses every month in exchange for my help. While I am excited about the exposure and I'm sure it would result in some business I'm not excited about touching anything related to gambling at ALL. Am I right in thinking this or should I treat it like just another client? He has a site where he teaches people how to win at video keno and sells this info packet. Porn and gambling. Everything I have read and heard is geared towards sites like this NOT coming up in search engines. Thoughts? Thanks and have an AWESOME week! Matthew
