Anyone Think AdWords Campaigns Hurt Organic CTRs, Decreasing Organic Rankings?
-
Hi All,
It seems like just about everyone agrees that AdWords campaigns and SEO campaigns bring additional value when used in conjunction (increasing Impressions, Clicks, Conversions, etc.), but has anyone considered AdWords performance harming organic rankings by decreasing engagement metrics?
I've been searching for studies, blog posts, investigations, etc. this morning and haven't been able to find anyone discussing this specific idea. Personally, I think decreased engagement for organic results would be relatively evenly distributed among those results, making engagement drops relative and thus nullifying their impact on rankings.
Any other ideas out there? Thanks!

Hello,
If you are searching for studies about this topic then here is a very good paper you have to read. It's named Impact Of Ranking Of Organic Search Results On The Incrementality Of Search Ads
http://research.google.com/pubs/pub37731.html
I have read it a few times, there are some interesting findings in it. Try to extract the facts and maybe then draw your own conclusion. And just after this read their conclusion!

I have ran a lot of AdWord campaigns and I've never seen any impact on my organic placements. I've heard people talk about this before but I've never seen a negative cause and effect between the two search models.

Adwords Conversions - Trying to track button clicks that fire when Bootstrap modal contact form clicked/opened
Hi there, I'm trying to implement google adwords conversions on a particular client's website. They have used bootstrap as the framework for their site and mainly open up contact forms within a bootstrap modal, after a button is clicked. See here: http://www.gtwstorage.co.uk/ I thought I had successfully implemented the adwords conversion tracking however it has been a week now, and my conversions still say they are "unverified". I wonder if anyone else has encountered this before and knows what I might be doing wrong. Thank you in advance, Darren

Broad vs. Exact in Brand Campaign
Hey guys, I was looking through my "Brand" campaign, and I noticed that my costs are running a little higher than I'd like to be spending. I've got my brand search term (Strutta) set on broad, since I just recently started the brand campaign about 2-weeks ago. However, I've noticed that I'm spending around $1 on most clicks even though my QS is at 9/10. In my previous experience, I've been able to pay pennies on brand search terms. I know that I have a competitor that's trying to snipe my brand searches, but I don't really want to be paying this much for branded clicks. Would it be a good idea to check my search terms, build out a larger list of exact match terms, and just go with exact match? Do you guys usually use broad in your Brand campaigns, or exact?

Potential problems with multiple users of an adwords MCC
Morning all, I have had a query regarding granting access to an MCC account for people using various platforms. Now this a pretty specific query for an area outside my expertise, and conveniently both our PPC guys are on holiday so thought i would reach out to the community. Full request is this: "On the mcc I am slightly concerned about that, from experience I have run into problems especially with granting access for usage of API’s on an account, so if for example we wanted to use marin they would need access then another wanted to use adobe they would need another and if they are all sat under the SSM teams mcc that could be problematic or we would have to set up another." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom.

Good Adwords resources/ Guides
I'm going to be taking over the PPC for my company. A 3rd party currently does it but I have done a review and they have not been doing a great job ( I spotted a few very basic mistakes), so we want to switch it to in house I have experience with PPC, and I'm confident on the basic of it, but I was looking for a good (recent) PPC resource or guide so I can make sure I'm doing it right, basicly a ppcmoz 😉 For example current the campaigns are set to accelerated, but I have been told that is very wasteful, but the 3rd party explanation is:"We set the campaigns to be accelerated to avoid missing out on potential sales. These can be set to standard if you wish however there is a higher chance that sales could be missed." Which is correct?

Is there any reason to add the word "buy" to our Adwords keywords?
Was having a discussion with someone so I am going to write this up as neutral as possible and let you guys decide. We have a large keyword list and they are all setup as phrase. Should we go back and add the word buy in front of all those keywords? Even though they are setup as phrase already. Example: "Widget" (as a phrase) Should we go back and add "Buy Widget" as a keyword?

How to set up Adwords Account for Keyword Research
Hello, At the advice of some knowledgable people around here, we are setting up a $200-$300 Adwords campaign to determine keyword research. Our site is already doing well but we want to make sure we are targeting all the appropriate terms. What do we need to keep in mind in setting up this campaign. I assume we would do some broad match terms with a bunch of negative matching. Thanks!

New v Returning in Google Analytics with Adwords
I am trying to figure out an issue with Google Analytics. What i am stumped on is I see traffic from AdWords coming in (accounts linked) and I see new v returning user. Does the return visit still show even if a user came back in via direct or organic? Or is it that these return visits are clicking on the ad again to come back as visits and clicks match in the reports?
