Google keyword tool
-
I was quite happy with google keyword tool for basic and accurate searches for keywords. Can anyone suggests a new tool that will give accurate search volume on google ( country specific ) I am not interest in info for adwords, and find a keyword planner tool way out in traffic results, compared to Keyword tool. Is the keyword tool completely gone?

Hi Pania
The Keyword tool is not completely gone but has now been replaced by the Google Keyword Planner which is not as useful for keyword research.
Here's three other tool suggestions for you:
Keyword Eye: http://www.keywordeye.com
Jaaxy: http://www.jaaxy.com
Market Samurai: http://www.marketsamurai.com
I only have experience of the latter, Market Samurai, which I have used for a few years now, but like many others it is dependent on access to Google data which has been diminishing, so it now uses a mix of Google and Bing information. The other two I have only come across recently.
I hope that helps.

Hello Pania
This has been asked a lot and there really (IMO) isn't a true equivalent. There are a few SAS programs of which Wordtracker and Wordstream come to mind first. With Wordtracker you can try it for 7 days for free and with Wordstream the same. Note that both are IMO geared more to adwords.
With the keyword planner, the main thing is that it is different than the keyword tool. There are a few advantages for what we do. The majority of our clients have a local presence in one or more cities or geographic areas. With the planner, I can look at just that area which I like. The biggest negative is that they, too, seem to push you toward Adwords at every time and until I force myself to use it a bit, I would end up on a page trying to figure out how I could see the work I did. (One nice thing over the Keyword tool is when you resume it asks you do you want to resume; with the tool...all was lost). Those are my best suggestions,
Good luck.Robert

How long does Google indexes the website after algorithm update?
I've noticed that the page ranks for some queries were improved unexpectedly, without any actions from my side. Is it possible that this improvement is connected with with Google algorithm update Sep, 4-5?

Google creating it own content
I am based in Australia but a US founded search on 'sciatica' shows an awesome answer on the RHS of the SERP https://www.google.com/search?q=sciatica&oq=sciatica&aqs=chrome.0.69i59.3631j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 The download on sciatica is a pdf created by google. Firstly is this common in the US? secondly any inputs on where this is heading for rollout would be appreciated. Is google now creating its own content to publish?

Weekly traffic from Google: How do you explain this?
Hello here, I have question for you. Please, have a look at the attached image from my website analytics which shows the unique visits trend of the last 2 months. What it is interesting is that every Monday Google brings me more traffic than any other day of the week, whereas on Saturdays it gives me the lowest traffic. And looks like that's a pretty regular weekly pattern. Why is Google doing that? What does that mean? Why such a clear and steady pattern? I am eager to know your thoughts about this! CGuULrN.jpg

Google spitting out old data as new alerts
Am I just unlucky or are others seeing this too? I have several google alerts. For the past 6 months, google keeps sending crap along with good stuff. its a bit like their search results. There are three types of Alerts they send that I'm not impressed with. 1. Alerts that are from unintelligible splogs that take real news stories and rewrite them with unintelligible garbage that makes no sense at all. Sometimes, they serve up new alerts from the same splogs I saw several months ago, that I felt sure they would have zapped by now. 2. Old stories, that have been around for months. I just received one that was from January, from TechDirt, a big site that must get a huge amount of attention from google. 3. Irrelevant stories because they love to show how smart they are by splitting my alert keyword text into multiple words, but it gives useless results. This is the kind of stuff that crappy search engines like AltaVista used to do. Is google reverting to the childhood of search with all these changes?

Problems with Google results
Hi Everybody, I ve been dealing with this issue for a while now. i have a multilingual website: www.vallnord.com When a search for Vallnord in Google it always shows the result in Catalan, but it does not show what I specified in the meta description, it displays what it crawls from the home page. I have 2 problems here: It is not showing my meta description. What can I do? It is not showing the language from which the search was made. Example: if you search from Google.com and your default language is english it should been displayed the result from the english HTML. www.vallnord.com/en but it is not like this. It is always the catalan (default language of the site) the one that is displayed. I have tried several things already: Inserting the Hreflang function Changing the descriptions Resubmitting the sitemap via Google Webmaster I can not figure out what is going on because if you search: "Vallnord Castellano" it will display the spanish URL but still not the proper description. Moreover if you search: "www.vallnord.com/es" on google , it will display the proper URL and description. FYI, I am using 301 redirects for the languages: es.vallnord.com it is the sames as www.vallnord.com/es In addition to this, If using Yahoo search engine there is no problem. it will show the proper language. from yahoo.com the first result is in english and from yahoo.es the first result Spanish. So any idea what would be the problem? And furthermore, any Idea which would be the solution? Thanks in advance, Guido.

Organic CTR on Google - KPI?
Hi, I was hoping for some advice on my keyword analysis I have completed. So far I have identified a hitlist of high volume keyword associated to the industry I operate in. As well as this, I'm monitoring our keyword positions within the SERPS. Question: Is there a CTR metric available depending on the position your keyword ranks within Google? i.e. If I am position 3 and looking to move to position 1 on a specific keyword, what amount of incremental search volume would be geneerated to my website? PResumably the CTR would also depend on what market you operate in too I am also going on a 65% / 35% Organic/PPC split based on keyword search volume so to give me a true reflection of the search volume available... Any advice on this would be much appreciated... Simon
