Will the Google juice flow after a redirect?

If someone links to this page :

Will the Google juice flow to this page?

Hi Sylvain
OK, if it is a 302 then no authority will be passed. A 302 redirect is an indicator that the redirection is temporary and therefore will change. Until the redirection is changed to a 301 (permanent) then no authority will be passed over from the backlink.
There is more info on redirection here: http://moz.com/learn/seo/redirection
Do you have access to the abonnes.hospimedia.fr sub-domain so you can update the redirection to be a 301?
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your answer but when I check the redirect with online tools, it says 302 not 301. Are you sure the authority is passed?
Thanks,
Sylvain

Hi Sylvain
Yes, it will, but you may lose some of the authority passed in the process.
See the answer by Matt Cutts to a similar question about this: http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2010/03/google-confirms-301-redirects-result-in-pagerank-loss.html
I hope that helps,
Peter

No Longer Indexed in Google (Says Redirected)
Just recently my page, http:/www./waikoloavacationrentals.com/mauna-lani-terrace, was no longer indexed by google. The sub pages from it still are. I have not done anything sketchy with the page. When I went into the google fetch it says that it is redirected. Any ideas what is this all about? Here is what it says for the fetch: Http/1.1 301 moved permanently

Tracing Redirects to a Site
I wonder if anyone has used any tools where you can trace the redirects pointing to a site? I know there are a number of tools out there that can be used to check where a URL redirects to, but I was wondering if anyone has used a tool where I could trace all redirects with the final URL? I am using this for competitor research so I don't have access to Analytics or Webmaster Tools.

Google Publisher status
Hi all, I just wondered what the general opinion was with regard getting Google publisher status for medium to large organisations. Lots of our clients write a lot of articles & publications and it would be interesting to get some thoughts on how others view Authorship & in particular Publisher credentials. Thanks!

Fix redirect loop
Hi,
Technical SEO | | bshanahan
I've been trying set up a 301 redirect from http://domestiquecap.com to www.domestiquecap.com but one was already set up by my client the other way around (from www to http://) so it's creating a redirect loop. However, we don't know where that original redirect was set up. The htaccess file doesn't appear to have the redirect and neither does the control panel of our hosting company. We need to turn off that original redirect so that I can instead redirect to the www subdomain. Where else could this 301 redirect have been set up? Is there a tool to diagnose where the 301 redirect was created so that I can turn it off? I am thinking maybe it was created via the domain registrar (GoDaddy) since the client has the login there and hasnt shared it with me.0 -

301 redirects and seo..
I bought a domain and it has nice traffic. It only has about 5 main pages in php When i got the site i switched to html because php was overkill. I did the 301 and google deleted the php files and replaced with html version when i check site:domain.com It has been about 7 days. I DID NOT use 301 for each of the 5 pages to go php to html instead is used this code RewriteEngine On
Technical SEO | | samerk
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain.com
RewriteRule (.) http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
RedirectMatch 301 (.).php$ http://www.mydomain.com$1.html So basically if you load php it will load the html version. dog.php > dog.html Is this OKAY? or should it be done differently.... worried! Thanks !0 -
Changing to a new Google Analytics Profile - Will I lose my history?
Hello, I have a new client and due to issues with the way the original Google Analytics account was set up, the owner won't make me an admin. So, I'm forced to create a new GA profile. I'm about to update my Campaign, but wonder if the data SEOMoz has accumulated over the last few weeks will disappear, or if it will just look forward with the new GA account? Any advice is most appreciated. ~Robin
