Why isn't my site not searchable from google?
-
I am having a hard time figuring out why is it that when I search for my website name, it didn't show up in google's search result? Here's a link to my site. I've been twiddling for days looking for answers in my google webmaster tools. Here's a link of the crawl stats from google webmaster tool. As you can see it is actually crawling some pages. However my looking at my indexed status, I am getting 0 as you can see here (http://cl.ly/image/3G1R1p0b3k1P). I've double checked for my robots.txt and nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary there. I am not blocking anything. Any ideas why?

Here is the link again. http://www.seobook.com/video-google-seo-friendly-page-titles
If it doesn't work, just copy from here and paste into your browser.

The link to the example site isn't going anywhere. Can you repost?

Here is a good video about title tags:
http://www.seobook.com/video-google-seo-friendly-page-titlesI have caught my web developer doing this and I straightened him out real quick. H1,H2,H3 etc are designed to give hierarchy to a web page. I think of it as a priority order of your content.
What happens is that it's real easy to put an H1 tag around text to make the font bigger and even use H2 tags to do the same. My web guy put an H1 tag around the phone number at the top of the page and that is what Google used to show in the description meta in search listings.
In short, you should use the tags as intended. Here is a link on the subject.

Thanks for the explanation. I am putting my brand name at the end of my title tag right? I wanted to use Shopious Directory when user searches for Shopious Directory and I wanted Shopious Directory to show up when a user searches for Shopious. Also can you explain the issue with H1? I will fix the domain privacy for this.
-
I just don't think it's enough of a signal for Google just to put that in your title tag. Seems to be working ok in Yahoo and Bing search . If you search for "SHOPIOUS DIRECTORY" you do show up.
Most of the time, your Brand name will go at the end of your title tag. So now you have a conflict. Seems like you have an identity crisis. What is the true name of your business? Shopious, Shopious Indonesia, Shopious Directory
A couple of FYI's
You have multiple H1 tags on your home page. Probably not the greatest idea. If you are doing this to size text, probably better to do it with css.
You have registered your domain through GoDaddy and it looks like you have used your personal residence. If you did, you might want to purchase domain privacy to hide this.
-
When you say business name.. you mean Google Plus or what are you referring to? I have a Shopious Directory in my title tag.
-
Also, If I search for "Shopious Directory adalah direktori toko toko fashion" you are found as well so your site is being indexed. I just don't think you have used 'Shopious Directory' term all over your website enough for Google to pick it up as a brand.
-
The thing is, you have nothing in your business name with "Shopious Directory" (and probably no google plus business page named that either that I could find) Your business name is ""Shopious Indonesia" and if you Google that it comes up just fine.
-
Just the site it self 'Shopious Directory'
-
I am searching Google for "shopious directory women" and there are entries that come up. Give me an example search term that is returning no results.

I'd also like to point out that I have some websites before that has no one linking to my site. For example this site. I never got any press release or people citing/linking this site. However, when I search for Bargains Closet. This search hits on top. Can you explain?

Sorry if i caused any confusion in my reply.
The fact is that for some time now Google has treated sub-domains in roughly the same light as folders in the site (so blog.domain.com is akin to domain.com/blog/ to use the simplest example.
The problem isn't that your using a folder, unique domain or sub-domain, it's that the only thing pointing to it is weak (sorry - just calling a spade a spade to save us time). You need to get stronger strength to the page you're talking about and to do that you can either strengthen it or strengthen the TLD. Preferably both. When you can prove you "deserve" to be found ... you will.
Hope that helps.

I asked this question a while ago about using subdomains and whther it has any impact on seo or not. People's arguments was that it has nothing to do with it and google would just treat this as a new website. Hence what i did was to just create a new site. But seems that from your response the parent's domain somehow has some effect on this mew site's SEO. So does this mean i have to fix the parents SEO first then this?

If I have to put my bet on the table it's that there's no current reason for Google to believe that the page should rank. The URL is a sub of a weak domain. It knows it's there but has no reason to believe (at this time) that it should be trusted or warrant user attention.
Get some quality links to it and it will appear. Time will also do but without links it won't rank for anything but your name so ...

Sub domain? Micro site? What's the best solution?
My client currently has two websites to promote their art galleries in different parts of the country. They have bought a new domain (let's call it buyart.com) which they would eventually like to use as an e-commerce platform. They are wondering whether they keep their existing two gallery websites (non e-commerce) separate as they always have been, or somehow combine these into the new domain and have one overarching brand (buyart.com). I've read a bit on subdomains and microsites but am unsure at this stage what the best option would be, and what the pros and cons are. My feeling is to bring it all together under buyart.com so everything is in one place and creates a better user journey for anyone who would like to visit. Thoughts?

Site Audit Tools Not Picking Up Content Nor Does Google Cache
Hi Guys, Got a site I am working with on the Wix platform. However site audit tools such as Screaming Frog, Ryte and even Moz's onpage crawler show the pages having no content, despite them having 200 words+. Fetching the site as Google clearly shows the rendered page with content, however when I look at the Google cached pages, they also show just blank pages. I have had issues with nofollow, noindex on here, but it shows the meta tags correct, just 0 content. What would you look to diagnose? I am guessing some rogue JS but why wasn't this picked up on the "fetch as Google".

Google indexing .com and .co.uk site
Hi, I am working on a site that is experiencing indexation problems: To give you an idea, the website should be www.example.com however, Google seems to index www.example.co.uk as well. It doesn’t seem to honour the 301 redirect that is on the co.uk site. This is causing quite a few reporting and tracking issues. This happened the first time in November 2016 and there was an issue identified in the DDOS protection which meant we would have to point www.example.co.uk to the same DNS as www.example.com. This was implemented and made no difference. I cleaned up the htaccess file and this made no difference either. In June 2017, Google finally indexed the correct URL, but I can’t be sure what changed it. I have now migrated the site onto https and www.example.co.uk has been reindexed in Google alongside www.example.com I have been advised that the http needs to be removed from DDOS which is in motion I have also redirected http://www.example.co.uk straight to https://www.example.com to prevent chain redirects I can’t block the site via robot.txt unless I take the redirects off which could mean that I lose my rankings. I should also mention that I haven't actually lost any rankings, it's just replaced some URLs with co.uk and others have remained the same. Could you please advise what further steps I should take to ensure the correct URL’s are indexed in Google?

I need help with redirecting chain to another page and 301, I don't understand on how to fix
Redirect Chain <label>What it is:</label> Your page is redirecting to a page that is redirecting to a page that is redirecting to a page... and so on. Learn more about redirection best practices. <label>Why it's an issue:</label> Every redirect hop loses link equity and offers a poor user experience, which will negatively impact your rankings. <label>How to fix it:</label> Chiaryn says: “Redirect chains are often caused when multiple redirect rules pile up, such as redirecting a 'www' to non-www URL or a non-secure page to a secure/https: page. Look for any recurring chains that could be rewritten as a single rule. Be particularly careful with 301/302 chains in any combination, as the 302 in the mix could disrupt the ability of the 301 to pass link equity.” This is not helping me I don't understand about the 301 do I use the www.jasperartisanjewelry.com or the /jasperartisanjewelry.com I'm confused

Why is an error page showing when searching our website using Google "site:" search function?
When I search our company website using the Google site search function "site:jwsuretybonds.com", a 400 Bad Request page is at the top of the listed pages. I had someone else at our company do the same site search and the 400 Bad Request did not appear. Is there a reason this is happening, and are there any ramifications to it?

Why did our site drop in Google rankings?
My site's URL (web address) is: http://tinyurl.com/3svn2l9 Hi there, We operate a travel site that lists numerous tours, accommodation and activities. Since 6th August 2011 we have dropped from top 10 SERP rankings of our pages to around result number 100 (page 10) and losing massive amount of visitors via Google Search. Our Yahoo and Bing rankings are still in the top10. We need your advice and quick! The last changes we have made are the following: -redirected the non-www version to the www version on the 1st August -bought advertising with a follow link in a sidebar that is being populated across the site (+4000 pages) about 2 months ago -added a blog to the website 2 weeks ago and posted 2 posts to date. Additionally, our website structure allows visitors (and bots) to see the same listings via different URLs which caused duplicate content. This has been the case since the launch of our website about 1 year ago. To prevent this duplicate content we have placed canonical tags on the individual listings pages. Why did our site all of a sudden plummet in the rankings?

Google caching meta tags from another site?
We have several sites on the same server. On the weekend we relocated some servers, changing IP address. A client has since noticed something freaky with the meta tags. 1. They search for their companyname, and another site from the same server appears in position 1. It is completely unrelated, has never happened before, and the company name is not used in any incoming text links. Eg search for company1 on Google. Company1.com.au appears at position 2, but at position1 is school1.com.au. The words company1 don't appear anywhere on the site. I've analysed all incoming links with a gazillion tools, and can't find any link text of company1, linking to school1. 2. Even more freaky, searching for company1.com.au at Google. The results at Google in position 1 for the last three days has been: Meta Title for school1 (but hovering/clicking actual goes to URL for company1)
Technical SEO | | ozgeekmum
Meta Description for school1
URL for company1.com.au Clicking on the cached copy of result1, it shows a cached version of school1 taken on March 18. Today is 29 March. Logically we are trying to get Google to spider both sites again quickly. We've asked the clients to update their home pages. Resubmitted xml sitemaps. Checked the HTTP status codes - both are happily returning 200s. Different cookies. I found another instance on a forum: http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/10578/incorrect-meta-information-in-google Any ideas?0
