Multiple domains

I have a client, (for example Henry Jewelers) who likes to advertise their site as www.henry.com, but their main site resides on HenryJewelers.com. If www.henry.com has a permanent redirect to henryjewelers.com, are the two sites impacted negatively from a SEO standpoint?

Not necessarily, unless you already have something built and with enough authority on henryjewelers.com
apple computer - apple.com
abercrombie & fitch - abercrombie.comTiffany & Company - tiffany.com
etc.

I was under the impression that by having the type of business directly in the domain name would help with page rank over the long haul. In my understanding, if all content is the same on both sites, henryjewelers.com will rank better than henry.com.

Some pagerank is diluted over a 301 redirect. The same as if you had one link to HenryJewelers.com from Henry.com.
It will certainly be better to use the actual domain. But not going the other way around? Is HenryJewelers.com an established website with lots of value? are all the links pointing to Henry.com? why not going with Henry.com as the main address, it clearly makes more sense user-wise.

I see, well this is not very elegant so far and not really "perfect" regarding SEO aspects BUT all the things (advertisements that might generate a link to henry.com etc.) that my help building up DA, Pagerank, linkjuice etc. will be passed through to the other domain... you won`t loose anything of that by using a 301
this might not be the most perfect solution what your client prefers but it`s not uncommon

I was thinking that it would affect SEO through backlinks. The customer puts henry.com on EVERY type of advertisement that they run - flyers, business cards, social media posts, guest blog articles, email blasts, paid web ads/banners, etc. They rarely advertise with HenryJewelers.com.

SIMPLE: NO
A permanent redirect (301) is a common and absolutely normal thing... I can`t see any negative effect in such a case

Ok, I'm looking to clean up my domain with irrelevant Anchor text linking to specific URL's. Whether, it's my root domain or a particular product URL. Wordpress & trailing slash on domain name
Hi recently changed my site so it is based on Wordpress, got my preferred domain set in Google webmaster as www.domian.co.uk but since moving to wordpress my domain is now having a slash put on the end of it like www.domain.co.uk/ Most of the links going to my homepage do not have the slash on the end so am I right in thinking I should get rid of the slash from my site so I have one consistent url? If so any ideas how to banish the slash? Cannot seem to do it through the Wordpress general settings (despite preferred domain being set as www.domain.co.uk !) Thanks T

Exact Match Domain + shorter permalink vs. longer permalink?
So here's the scenario... You own the exact match domain for "Acupuncture Intake Form" and want to create a page that targets the phrase, "Acupuncture Intake Form Template"... In terms of SEO, which of the following permalinks does a better job targeting the term "Acupuncture Intake Form Template" : A) www.acupunctureintakeform.com/template/ B) www.acupunctureintakeform.com/acupuncture-intake-form-template/ From a user-friendliness perspective, I can definitely see why the /template/ is more ideal. It's more memorable, easier to link to, and logical. I'm just wondering whether there is some edge that the /acupuncture-intake-form-template/ has that I'm not aware of, or if there's some gray area. I can also think of scenarios where the longer version might be better. For example, if there were several different kinds of acupuncture intake form templates. If that were the case, then /template/ might be too vague (e.g. is it the normal "acupuncture intake form template" or is it the "acupuncture intake form template with diagram"). So in that respect, the longer one might be less concise in certain situations, but in others provide more clarity. (Note: I'm looking for answers to this situation as it applies to any website. I just chose this extremely small niche exact match domain because it's an example that illustrate my questions). Thanks in advance for any answers, insights, or comments! Hyphenated keyword rich domains - is a hyphenated .co.uk better than a non-hyphenatedlesser TLD such as .org?

Transferring authority from one domain to another
My dilemma For example: If I have a website ranking at number 11 for (Keyword) and there is a site named www.(Keyword).com ranking at number 12 for (Keyword), if I were to buy this site and redirect to my own site, would this be at all beneficial? Any advice would be much appreciated!
