Got dropped on Google rank - Tips to discover why please
-
Hi guys
originally my website was poor ranked on Google. So, after sign in on Moz and follow their tips I achieved the 4th position for one of my keywords (amazing!).
But a few days ago my page dropped to bellow the first 50th pages for this same keyword, but I didn't make any changes on it.
Anybody has some tips of how can I discover/repair what happened?
Thank you all in advance.
Best regards
Paulo

I'm not sure if I found the root cause of my problem... so let me ask you all if you have heard it before:
After change my website to include the Moz improvement suggestions, I logged in Google Webmaster Tools and ran "Fetch as Google" option and then submitted to index.
But, after 5 or 10 minutes, I discovered a small problem on my page and, after fix it, I ran the "Fetch as Google" again and submitted to index.Probably Google interpreted this two submissions as a "Black SEO" and punished my website?
Btw, according to Moz Rank Tracker, I'm the 5th result for the keyword I want.
Thank you all in advance.
Best regards

Hi Martijn
thanks for your reply!
My website is http://www.vetwork.com.br. The keyword I want to rank for is "sistema veterinário".
No, according to Moz, the keyword is not competitive, also doesn't have too much news for it.
Basically the other sites kept with same position order.
I'm not working with any other keywords by now.
What do you mean about "manual actions against my site"?Best regards
-
Hi Andriy
thanks for your reply!
I added the keyword on title and body. Marked some of them with Bold and H1, H2 tags.
I can't say how much time it stayed on 4th place before the drop.. maybe one or two days...
What do you mean by "back link profile"?Best regards
-
Hi Paulo,
We need some more information for this one, could you share the URL of the page you would like the keyword to rank for? Is the keyword competitive? Is there much news around the keyword? Did any other sites jump up since you've dropped your rankings. Have other keywords also suffered? Did you have any manual actions against you site according to Google Webmaster Tools?
-
Paulo, be more concrete. What exact changes did you make? How much time ran after the changes? Did you change the back link profile?

Recovering from Google Penguin/algorithm penalty?
Anyone think recovery is possible? My site has been in Google limbo for the past 8 months to around a year or so. Like a lot of sites we had seo work done a while sgo and had tons of links that Google now looks down on. I worked with an seo company for a few months now and they seem to agree Penguin is the likely culprit, we are on page 8-10 for keywords that we used to be on page 1 for. Our site is informative and has everything in tact. We deleted whatever links possible and some sites are even hard to find contact information for and some sites want money, I paid a few a couple bucks in hopes maybe it could help the process. Anyway we now have around 600 something domains on disavow file we out up in March-April, with around 100 or 200 added recently as well. If need be a new site could be an option as well but will wait and see if the site can improve on Google with a refresh. Anyone think recovery is possible in a situation like this? Thanks

Pleasing the Google Gods & Not DeIndexing my site.
Hey Mozzers, So plenty of you who follow these threads have come across my posts and have read bits and pieces of the strange dark dark gray hat webspace that I have found myself in. So I'm currently doing some research and I wanted all of your opinion too. Will Google always notify you before they stop indexing your website? Will Google always allow you back if you do get pulled? Does Google give a grace period where they say "fix in 30 days?"? What is every bodies experience with all of this?

Strange strategy from a competitor. Is this "Google Friendly"?
Hi all,We have a client from a very competitive industry (car insurance) that ranks first for almost every important and relevant keyword related to car insurance.

But they could always be doing a good job. A few days ago i found this: http://logo.force.com/ The competitor website is: http://www.logo.pt/ The competitor name is: Logo What I found strange is the fact that both websites are the same, except the fact that the first is in a sub-domain and have important links pointing to the original website (www.logo.pt) So my question is, is this a "google friendly" (and fair) technique? why this competitor has such good results? Thanks in advance!! I look forward to hearing from you guys0 -
Negative SEO attack working amazingly on Google.ca
We have a client www.atvandtrailersales.com who recently (March) fell out of the rankings. We checked their backlink file and found over 100 spam links pointing at their website with terms like "uggboots" and "headwear" etc. etc. I submitted a disavow link file, as this was obviously an attack on the website. Since the recent Panda update, the client is back out of the rankings for a majority of keyword phrases. The disavow link file that was submitted back in march has 90% of the same links that are still spamming the website now. I've sent a spam report to Google and nothing has happened. I could submit a new disavow link file, but I'm not sure if this is worth the time. '.'< --Thanks!

Backlinks According to Google
Good Morning, Google has just recognized some links going to my site. I used a seo toolbar downloaded from firefox that informed me of the Links according to Google. My question is that them links have been there for ages and Google has only just recognized them. Is there a reason for this? Does Google only show links quarterly or half yearly? Thanks SEO_123

Instability on the server - punishment in Google?
My site has about 50k pages indexed in Google. We are well respected, and we believe our stories add much value to the user. However, we are having serious problems with my hosting service and the site is unavailable for more than 15 hours. Unfortunately we also have no provision for him to return to work. I wonder if this kind of instability can cause some punishment on Google, if so, I wonder if there is anything we can do to tell Google that we are aware and working to resolve the problem.
