What is the SEO term for Tree Search Engine results when we lookup for a company?
-
Hi Folks,
I have a newbie question:
When I do a Google search for: SEOmoz i get a SERP for SEOmoz in a form of a Tree, on the other hand if I search another company, let's say PAF.ca I get individual page results on google.
Question is: What is the difference between the two, and how do we usually ask Google to display results of a Company name in the form of a tree or Main Category with Subpages in the SERP when looking for that company name.
For my Visual Friends, Please find attached a Print screens that could explain my question a bit more.

Removing less compelling pages from your site links (such as your privacy policy or about us) page might be useful IF it means that you'll get one of your core services/offerings in it's place, but as Robert says, you can't control which pages get displayed.
The Google Analytics/Top Pages report will give you a view as to which pages are the most popular.

Hi Robert,
I answered to your reply twice now, let's hope they won't show three times, SEOmoz might be having a small glitch. Anyway, I thank you very much for a fast a clear answer to my question, so now I have another name for my "Tree".
To answer your question, i noticed that there were 4 photos added, i updated the attachments to include the only good one. Both searches were made on Google.ca and not Google.com. Search terms were PAF.CA and SEOmoz.
Thanks Again,
Cheers!

The "tree" (and I actually like that term), is called site links. You cannot ask Google to provide, that is done at their discretion based on what they think is relevant to the query. A new site won't have these for a bit, usually.
You can ask Google to take off the site links if they are for any reason misleading a query, etc.
One question you raise for me is is your first search in Google.ca? Is SEOmoz in same?
Hope it helps

Is it reasonable to not give an SEO access to our CMS?
A client (we designed their website) recently employed an SEO who required FTP access or access to the CMS. We told the client they would need to take full responsibility for any updates the SEO carried out, otherwise, the SEO could send over the changes and we would put them in at no extra cost to the client. The client didn't want to take responsibility and denied the SEO access to the CMS, and told the SEO to send over the completed work for us to put into the site. The SEO was not happy with this arrangement, and didn't seem to understand that we needed to trust him before access was would be given at a future date. Other SEO's have never had a problem with this arrangement, but this SEO claimed what they do is secret and for no one else to see. SEO want's to proceed, client doesn't want to proceed, we are happy to update the website with the client's approval. This particular client has a reputation for backing out of things. Also from the initial client, SEO contact the SEO was ready to update the website within 24 hours. Are we being unreasonable?

KEYWORDS: How can I find keywords to target now that the majority of searches have been hidden from keyword planner?
Hello Community, I am not an expert and I need some advice. So thank you for your time 🙂 I read that Google is not showing the same amount of search volume data it was showing before (like up until 2-3 weeks ago, after the NSA scandal) and that now it's changed the way we should look at which keyword groups to target since we dont know anymore how many people actually searched for these terms. Say I want to start a new site around the topic "french chocolate" (just joking, but say I want to). How do I find out today which is the most searched term in that keyword group/cluster? I mean this in terms of volume of searches. Please help, I need some guidance on how to approach my content developmente strategy from now on, I always heavily relied on keywords and that got me awesome results in less than a year! Thank you again for your time Best

Can not get the ranking needle to move even after a year with a US based SEO company
Hello community, I have spent the last 16 months spending lots of money on our USA Based SEO company and on content. For some reason. The powers who may be at Google are not giving us any love. I am beginning to become very dissapointed after all of our efforts. We did have a link penalty a year ago however that has long ago been removed. We have been doing everything our SEO company has asked us but the needle is not moving. Any ideas for us? http://tinyurl.com/n2yoeyn Thank you in advance. Chris

If you could go back in time and build any brands SEO what brand would that be and why?
Ok so yes this my idea of having fun when I think about SEO. For me it would be Coca Cola as they only have fast moving consumer goods and their whole brand just SCREAMS "please take me viral". Maybe Disney or a Gaming company..
