Switching host
-
Hi guys,
some questions about host switching.
Actually my blog is hosted on siteground growbig Plan.
I was thinking about upgrading to gogeek Plan (their PRO shared hosting).
Do you think that better technologies and server speed response can improve My ranking?
Another question: if I switch server they will change ip. Does it affect My SEO negatively?
And after the switch and ip changing Is too much if I re-change ip buying a dedicated ip?
Will I risk to hurt My Raking?
Sorry For my foreign english
Thanks so much!

Happy to assist, Dario. I'm interested to know if you were finally able to make your upgrade directly to a dedicated IP address in your new account?

Ehi ehi Paul you are absolutely a GREAT person. Really thanks for all what you have don for me
I will write to siteground's staff to ask for!

I've confirmed with my senior source at SiteGround that you absolutely can upgrade directly to a Pro account with a dedicated IP all at the same time. Just order your IP address at the same time as you order your account upgrade.
If you have any further issue with this, just message me the contact you're dealing with at SiteGround and I'll have "my guy" help straighten it out.
Good luck!

Glad that helped Dario. I'm checking in with a connection I have at SiteGround to see if he can find a way to make your upgrade directly to a dedicated IP on the new account. Will let you know what I find out.

Hi Paul,
your answer is Absolutely GREAT!!!
Thank u very much. Unfortunately I have already asked to siteground staff If there is the possibility to switch to better host and buying a dedicated IP in the same moment without changing IP two times.
Their answer was... NO
-
You shouldn't need to change the IP address twice. I'm pretty certain that if you tell the SiteGround folks you want to upgrade your plan and purchase a dedicated IP address at the same time, they'll apply the new IP address when they set up your new hosting. So you can move directly from your current IP address to the dedicated one.
Changing IP addresses will have no effect on your rankings, as long as both addresses are listed as hosted within the same country (as will be the case if yo're buying the new one from the same host as you currently use).
The one thing a dedicated IP can do for you is help insure you're not sharing an IP address with other potentially spammy sites. This can help protect you from "bad neighbours" and may also help protect your email from getting blacklisted due to sharing the IP address with other possible spammy senders.
Contrary to what many may wish to believe, having a faster site will have essentially no impact on your rankings, unless your old hosting was terribly slow. A lot was made of the announcement that page speed has become a ranking factor, but careful reading shows that it's only a minor factor that only applies to a small subset of queries and even then only when it's significantly slower than it's competitors.
The big reason to improve your site's speed is to improve your users' experience. This can lead to more engagement on your site, and higher conversion rates.
One last note - your English is terrific! My second language is French, but I sure couldn't do SEO research in that language. I'm always impressed by people who can do technical discussions in a second language.
Hope that helps. If anything's not clear, just ask and I'll try to go over it better.

Infact the problem is that I have to change two times the ip and not once.
One time for changing from actual server to better server
And the second time buying the dedicated ip
Do you think that changing two times in a month the ip can be a problem?
Even if I try to make the transfer as fast as I can?
-
I recommend getting a dedicated ip address (see video). Will you lose rankings by changing your IP address once? No (as long as the ip address isn't blacklisted and etc.).
-
Getting Rankings Involve different Parameters Like Onpage ; Off page Optimization.
But Good Server speed and Website loading Speed will be beneficial But If you say only dedicated IP will help you in ranking then the answer is NO. Thanks
-
Do you think that dedicated ip can help ranking?
thank you

2- Another question: if I switch server they will change ip. Does it affect My SEO negatively?
No, It will Not effect your website negatively.
3- And after the switch and ip changing Is too much if I re-change ip buying a dedicated ip?

Control indexed content on Wordpress hosted blog...
I have a client with a blog setup on their domain (example: blog.clientwebsite.com) and even though it loads at that subdomain it's actually a Wordpress-hosted blog. If I attempt to add a plugin like Yoast SEO, I get the attached error message. Their technical team says this is a brick wall for them and they don't want to change how the blog is hosted. So my question is... on a subdomain blog like this... if I can't control what is in the sitemap with a plugin and can't manually add a sitemap because the content is being pulled from a Wordpress-hosted install, what can I do to control what is in the index? I can't add an SEO plugin... I can't add a custom sitemap... I can't add a robots.txt file... The blog is setup with domain mapping so the content isn't actually there. What can I do to avoid tags, categories, author pages, archive pages and other useless content ending up in the search engines? 7Zo93b2.png

Technical guide for Setting up a CDN to host our images, as well as creating an image sitemap, and setting up the CDN in GWT?
Hi All! We're thinking of setting up a CDN to host our images with a CNAME on a subdomain of our site. In terms of SEO, I was wondering if any of you knew of a pretty complete technical guide for setting it all up. Including whether or not we need to create an image sitemap, and setting it up in GWT. Thanks in advance! Vince

Questions on switching domain name of my site
Hey guys, I purchased a domain name on May 1st and have been running my site on it since then. At the time when I added the domain name to the shopping cart, I felt that it was the best domain name a human could possibly come up with. But now, after two months, I am not so sure about it. And that means I am thinking of getting a new domain name and redirecting the old domain to the new one. Give that the domain is only two months old, there is not much to lose. However, my domain name does have some valuable backlinks, and has built some credibility in the eyes of search engines. According to MOZ Open Site Explorer, its Domain Authority is 10 and Page Authority (homepage) is 20. It's not much, but I fear that if I switch the domain name, I will reset the clock and the new domain name will have to earn the rankings from scratch That said, after searching this forum, I come across articles like this one from google and this 2012 article from MOZ that gave me some confidence. The MOZ article is from 2102, and there have been several changes since then. Is there an updated version of that article, or another legit article on the internet that you can point me to? As you can tell, I want to be more than sure that we don't take any hit during the migration process. Also want to mention that the site is on WordPress -- in case that is relevant. Thank you for your help.

¿Is a good idea to have in the same hosting (disck space) two diferent domains?
Hello. I'm talking about Google Spain. I have two domains allocated in the same site. One, including the keyword selected for the domain The other is the branding name. In this way, my client can print the branding name in their cards. But for us is easier to get rankings and (I think) quickly also. In this way, what I hope, is that if someone is looking for the service in Google, the domain with the keyword appears. But the site can also be accesed by the branding domain (which is shorter and more friendly.

Should I change my host
Have a feeling that the answer will be obvious here but more opinions are always good... I own a number of domains, mainly com, which are targeted at the UK but hosted in the netherlands. I have noticed a very high number of dutch hits to my sites. Lower than UK but takings population into account it works out to be higher. I fear my decision to renew my dutch server instead of going for a UK one is helping me rank in the wrong part of the world. I have paid a couple of months ahead for the dutch server but am wondering if the cost of writing off a couple of hundred pounds will be less than I'm losing due to my location. Should I take the financial hit on the server in the hope that buying a UK one will increase my relevant traffic?

Hosted in the Cloud, my URL is a .com how can I rank in UK SERPS?
Hi Mozzers, I have found an e-commerce SAS solution (USA based) that hosts its platform in the Cloud. Unfortunately my domain is a ,com but I wish to rank & sell within the UK. I realise I can select the UK parameters within GWT, but I am led to believe that this isnt hugely effective. Other than choosing another eCommerce platform, could anyone please assist me in identifying a solution? Thank you in advance.

A client will be translating their entire site into French in addition to English. For SEO purposes, should I host it on the same domain or create its own dedicated domain?
The current site is a long-standing site with good authority and a good number of links. Thanks....
