Keyword stuffing
-
Hi all. I'm working on this page - http://www.alwayshobbies.com/dolls-houses - for the term 'dolls houses'. It's not doing great at the minute (23rd in GUK) and I was wondering if it might be down to the volume of exact match keywords on the page (32).
If not, does anyone have any other pointers?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'd agree with both Dave and Tommy but also would suggest you rewrite your on-page copy to make it more clearly about dolls' houses and dolls' house accessories. At the moment it sounds a bit like a random collection of keywords, for example:
"With such a huge choice of**: Accessories, Books, Dolls, Figurines, Houses, Basements, Flooring, Glues & Scenic Materials, 12 volt Lighting & LED Lighting, Mouldings, Stairs, Plans, Play Houses, Roofing, Windows** and Doors there is sure to be something that will appeal." etc.
While I as a human reader can tell that these are all accessories for a dolls house, taken as individual terms they don't seem to have much relationship to each other (in terms of targeting). This is a top level category page targeting the term 'dolls' house'. So that should be your main keyword/topic.
Also a couple of those terms ('Books' and 'Flooring') are links which looks a bit weird with the exact match anchor text (esp since they are actually 'dolls' house/miniature books' and 'dolls' house flooring'.)

Hi,
In addition to what was mentioned, i would suggest the following:
- Add more keywords (long tail) in the title tag. I see that you have xyz keyword | hobby. I suggest using a primary and secondary keyword for each page instead of always using a generic term like "Hobby" at the end.
- Add more text for each product. Having more unique text with keywords will help Google crawl and learn more about your page.
- Over all, the page is too crowded. A redesign to free up some space will definitely provide better user experience which in the end help with ranking and conversion.
Hope this helps.

Looking at your page, i am not seeing an H1 or H2 tag. I would consider adding those in with your keyword. Something like "Doll Houses and Accessories"
I would also get rid of so many outbound links in the text at the bottom and try and move that text higher on the page. It looks like it is only there for search engines, so move it up and make it useful to your customer.
Also, your title tag needs some work.
Instead of "Dolls Houses 12th Scale Dolls and Accessories | Hobbies"
Try only" Doll Houses and Accessories, 12th Scale Doll Houses | Hobbies" -- note i didn't check the length here.
Hope that helps.

I agree with Wiqas but also make sure to improve the text at the bottom of the page as I really get the idea it's purely written with an intention for SEO and both Google as users won't like this.

Hi,
Your Onpage Looks Good as You have keyword in title and on the Page content. So Its all down to Some strong backlinks and You will Probably be on First page.
Thanks

Having a Keyword in # is not that important in 2018, Do you agree?
Earlier having a Keyword in was one of the important ranking factor or at least every SEO guru use to suggest this. But, of late, we are noticing that Google is not giving much weightage to it. What are your thoughts on this?

Home page ranks for most keywords with no SEO
Hi Guys, The keyword I am trying to rank is on seperate page with its own Optimization in place. However the HOME page of website starts ranking for that keywords . The keyword is mentioned on Home page Just once in content description, that's all. What should be my ideal strategy. Deleting the Sub Page, will that improve the SEO of my home page and improve the Rank for that keyword ? Also I can see my Own YELP pages rank better than the actual website for few terms . Any way around this ? A Part from building links to page ?

Homepage not ranking for main keyword, all other pages ranking slightly for their own keyword phrases.
Dear Mozzers, We have an ecommerce website (www.pashmina-boutique.com), we want to rank the homepage for the keyword "pashmina". Problem is, we are nowhere to be found, not even in the top 100 search results of Google. It is indexed, we have no crawl errors, except that we had some problems with our hosting (503's), the crawler of Google bumped in a few of those. And we are fixing it. Our other pages, e.g. (http://www.pashmina-boutique.com/15-white-pashminas) ranks for "white pashminas" 24th and "white cashmere pashminas" 23rd. We have done no linkbuilding, in Majestic, you can check that. We have been offline for a long time (over 6 months) and about 3 weeks ago, we did a redesign (SEO). We relaunched, everything is looking fine except the homepage isn't ranking for the main keyword. Could you guys check it out? Is it over-optimization? It can't be Penguin, Panda would be a surprise too. Or do we still have to wait for the monthly Panda data-refresh? We are currently busy with this issue, once this is solved - that the homepage is ranking - we will start linkbuilding. Mr.1000

Keyword not ranking but keyword within a phrase is?
Hi Guys, Google is not indexing the keyword ‘e liquid’ for www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid and it's driving me insane. I cannot understand why, can anyone please shed any light! -On page we have used variations e liquid, e-liquid, eliquid. -The e-liquid product pages are canonicaled to www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid. -3 other pages regarding e liquid were 301 redirected to the page passing good authority. I did this as I believed these pages conflicted as they seemed to target e-liquid. -‘e-liquid’ is being used as an anchor throughout the website pointing to www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid. -The ‘e liquid’ page has generally good authority PA 22, DA26. -The website has good anchor text linking to the site, all relative and e liquid related, along with brand links. Currently the keyword ‘e liquid’ brings up the home page www.cloudstix.com ranked 100+. What’s strange is the other terms relating to 'e liquid' bring up www.cloudstix.com/e-liquid for example: ‘e liquid uk’ ‘the best e liquid’ and ‘e liquid cloudstix’. Any ideas on what the problem may be. Would appreciate any advice on this. Thanks guys! Liam

Adding another keyword phrase to home page.
I finally reached the #1 ranking for my websites main keyword phrase. There are two more equally good keyword phrases that have my main two keywords plus one additional page. Can I shoot for both of those or should I limit it to just adding one more keyword phrase for a max of two? For Example. I rank #1 for Horse Buggies (our domain is the main two keywords) (Example) The other two equally good phrases with a little more traffic are Horse Large Buggies (I rank #29)and Horse Giant Buggies. (#46) What is the best way to start ranking for those terms....without saturating or cannabolizing my current terms? We are about to change the URL's on some of our pages...so maybe I could add Large and Giant to the URL. Any suggestions? I sure would like to capture the other two keyword phrases. #1 URL additions? ( I think this would just rank me higher for the new pages) #2 Would getting new links with those two new keyword phrases in the alt text help or is that black hat? #3 Adding more of those keyword phrases to my home page? Thank you, Boo
