Does Google Dislike Slideshows?

I've noticed a recent drop in organic traffic and a slight dip in rankings. When I looked at who replaced us in the top spots, I noticed text heavy, in depth articles. We produce many articles in the slideshow format. Do you think this is the reason our rankings dropped?

Upload slideshows on Slideshare.net Google loves the domain from what I have seen, if you have a great range of links to the Slideshare content you can have them ranking for great terms.
If you upload slideshow content to your own domain it may not be as effective.

It targets ads above the fold, but seems to indicate that lack of written content within easy viewing reach can also be undesirable.

Other possibilities may be that the text in your slideshows isn't html, or you don't have alt tags for the images, or the slideshow slows down the site, or that's all you really have for content on the site? Some slideshows are just not SEO-friendly, aside from algorithms and the case that they are generally not user-directed, and hence not user-friendly.

Instead of making "slideshows" I place all of my photos on a big single page with lots of generous captions. Then when people land on those pages they say ... WOW!
Some of my big pages full of images are ranking well in google for very difficult queries.
A lot of people don't like slideshows because they have to click, wait, click, wait, click, wait. I don't like them. That's why I don't use them.
Google can see a slideshow as a whole page with one image and not a lot of text. They might think that the purpose is to get visitors to click click click and display a lot of ads. It would not be a surprise to see google judge a big page with twelve images and 1000 words as much more deserving of rankings than a single slideshow page. That's why I don't see slideshows ranking above my big pages with a lot of images. Plus, if you have a lot of pages like that on your website then you could have a panda problem for thin content.

Google News Question
Hi, If you want to submit articles to Google News (& tag them with G News meta tags), even if high quality original content (that's genuinely objective) will all your efforts still be in vain if you include a CTA (call to action) to the websites primary service at the end of the article ? I work on a uk decorating website with five of our own bloggers all of which reside on the home page of the website on their own separete blogging urls as sub domains - is this a good idea or would google not like this from an seo point of view?
Should blogs that are part of an overall content site be on separate sites and link in or is it ok to promote them as content on the home page of the site and take users off to their own url to view the site. Is this good practise for seo?

Company blog relaunch. Best practices with Google Algorithm updates in mind?
We have a company blog living on our corporate domain. The blog contained many posts with keywords and we believe google is penalizing us for over optimization as we use to be ranked in the top 5 for our main keyword now we're on page 8. Keeping this in mind, we are planning to relaunch the blog and we wanted to get some tips on best practices that addressing the following questions. Should we archive _all _of our previously published content and start fresh with this relaunch? Should we keep 50 or so published blogs visible? Where should this blog live (on our domain or a wholly separate domain)? We'd love to get thoughts and opinions, and any insight about best practices for a blog relaunch.

Google authorship works on posts, but not on root domain.
When I check Google authorship via the tool Google provides, it says I am confirmed for individual posts, but not for my root domain. I’m using WordPress, and individual posts are fine, but not the blog as a whole. I am the only author… and have given it a week, thinking perhaps it needed time... but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

Does Google really ignore Noindex pages?
Assume I may have some pages of my site that don't have a lot of text on them, and I have to keep them on the site. Let's say there are no more than 50 like this out of 400 great pages, and the ratio of great-to-short pages continues to increase. If I no index the short ones, will Google really ignore them in search? Will they ignore them enough to not downrank my site due to the short, noindexed pages? I know, theoretically, they are supposed to ignore them, but I don't always trust all the rules.

About Google Instant Preview
Hi all, Please, I have a doubt about how Google Instant Preview works. My website is www.emagister.com, it’s a Spanish website and our servers are here in Spain (for the Spanish version of course) Sometimes, in some URLs appears Google Instant Preview image with the preview of my website that advises users that they could visit USA or German version of my Website while they visit the Spanish version www.emagister.com. Even though they stayed in German or USA…. Sometimes in the Instant Preview image it shows that they could visit the version in German or American even though the user is in Spain. Then when I click on the link, the text does not show up. Emagister gets 12 version (each country we have). I attached screen-shoot.
