Link anchor text in list menus
-
Obviously Google likes descriptive anchor text. At least the first version on the page.
But suppose you had a list of scrap yard depots on a hover site menu, would you go for the person friendly nested list, so
- Scrap Yard Depots
- Newcastle
- Chester
- Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
Or the presumably more Google friendly;
- Scrap Yard Depots
- Newcastle Scrap Yard
- Chester Scrap Yard
- Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Scrap Yard
- Scrap Yard Depots

they do like more descriptive anchor text good example
on my site i had dangerous drugs listed as just the name Example: "Topamax" had not done any seo to that page. it was on page 3 for "Topamax Lawyer" switching the menu anchor text to "Topamax Lawyer" made it jump to 2nd from the top
It only really works when you have only like 3 key words you are targeting if u are targeting 10+ than does not matter as much

In a way, I suppose this is a question about how well Google understands breadcrumbs and how much it values the information vs link anchor text. I'll do a blog search!

There is no point in having search results if your site puts people off. In navigation in particular put the user first.

Pyramid link structure - how to noindex, nofollow
I'm talking about this article: https://moz.com/learn/seo/internal-link Take this sample: HOME --> Shirts --> Plain shirt --> shirt#1 Product page: noindex, follow all links except 1 from breadcrumbs to nearest category (plain shirts). SubCategory page (plain shirts): noindex, follow all links except 1 link from breadcrumbs to nearest category (shirts) and all products belonging to current subcategory. Category page (shirts): noindex, follow all links except 1 link from breadcrumbs to front page (site.com) and links to own subcategories. Front page: noindex, follow all links except 12 links to main categories (shirts, pants etc.) Is it correct? If I noindex some parts of website, will it be harmful?

Long url links
Just wondering about creating links.

Is it ok to have very long links?
Like: http://www.robotnik.com/computer-hardware-ram/8gb-ddr3-1600-desktop Is the above too long, is it better for SEO to be more to the point? Also For better SEO, is it better to use hyphens in a domain name or not?0 -

Several Links in Some Pages
Dear all, Our main site is a bussiness directory, and following some SEO advices, we are creating landing pages for each category, in order to optimize them for the keywords. Those landing pages have links to the listings related to them. Using the same idea, we have created pages related to the regions, and those pages include links to the listings located in them. The only problem that I see with that, is the number of links that some categories or regions could have. Is there a limit of recomended number of links per page, from a SEO perspective? We also have a main category page, that includes a list of all categories, and this page could also have a relatively high number of links. The pages have around 300 to 500 words, some include also images, some include videos. Many thanks for your help, Daniel

Too Many Links Explode Upon Upgrade
We upgraded our CMS system in September and then had an explosion of new errors appearing in SEOMOZ. Most concerning was the too many links area. Our main site is www.thenorrisgroup.com. Many of the links on the page are set up as no follows and nothing else changed so I don't understand why it's tracking differently all of a sudden. Any ideas?

Double Listing
So what does it take to get a double listing? If someone has already answered this, please just send the link. Obviously lots of anchor text links to both pages. Also, do I link from both pages to each other for google to see the correlation? For example, homepage link to interior page. And interior page link back to homepage using same anchor text that I want to get the double listing for. Thanks in advance!

What is the effect of too many internal links on a page?
Hi there! We have been doing a great effort during the last year but our main competitor is still above us in search rankings. Basically, the main differente remains now in the number of internal links, specially in our homepage. We have more than 200 and they only have around 100, so I think we are wasting too much link power among some irrelevant pages. What could be the effect of this?
