Convert Google Plus page to Business page
-
I have a google plus page for my company edspire.com, https://plus.google.com/b/107395030190889162381/107395030190889162381/posts When I created it I don't think I set it up as a business so I'd like to convert to one. As far as I can see it is not possible to do this. What is the recommended process, do I just create a new one and migrate content over or is there some way to merge them? Should I then delete the old one or is it helpful to keep double posting?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
I think you might find this article by Mike Blumenthal to be helpful:

To clarify;
The current page is not a personal page but as with the poster above I think it was set up before the option to have a business page. It has multiple managers of which I am one and I already also have a personal G+ page. I would like to turn it into a business page, which allows me to add additional details of the business, as I believe this to more appropriate and potentially better for SEO (I might be wrong about this). I can't see a way to change the page type to business, and I have not been able to find instructions about this anywhere but it may be possible
Yes I'd like to avoid double posting, but also to get the most benefit of the existing followers and links from the current page.
Hope that helps to explain.
Thanks,
Jim

I have a few questions, to help me better understand your question.
First, are you only wanting to have a business page, and not a personal linked to it?
You should be able to edit the exiting profile, rather than set up a whole new one. I would edit what you already have exisiting, revise it to be your personal profile, and then set up an additional business profile under that authorship. In response to the question:
"Should I then delete the old one or is it helpful to keep double posting?"
I would not double post, or at least not do it in the same places or communities. If you make another profile, you should be able to edit or delete any under that account. -
Hi
We had the same issue here, before Business pages was around we created a user. But when we could create a business page (why Google didn't think you wouldn't want to do this, every business wants to promote themselves, i dont know), but after speaking with Google it was advised to us to create a new account and close the old one.
This was a while ago and things might have change, but we was told we couldn't even transfer followers, we could just do post saying we have a new page and to follow the new page, but they couldn't help us a lot.
As far as I know, nothing has changed, so your going to have to create a business page and start all over again, getting followers - would highly recommend running both in parallel for a time before closing the current one and keep posting about your new page, it did help for us.

How can I change my Google Business to be a non local business?
Hey guys, Do you know how to change my Google business account to be a non local business? I want my Google Knowledge Graph to be clean and neat like this. Does it mean that this company doesn't claim the business? Will removing the address from the Google My Business solve it (which I don't know whether we can take down the address)? Thanks

How do I treat multiple buildings on the same college campus on Google for local SEO?
Should I delete them? Simply give them a different address like "City, State, Zip"? I see the benefit of having key buildings on campus in Google Maps, but I don't want those to affect my accuracy score and, thus, my local rankings for SEO.

Clients are not showing up on Google Places (Maps)
Dear Esteemed Mozzers, I am having trouble with a few clients not showing up on the map for Google Maps (Places). What's interesting is that for one of my clients, a number of her competitors (some of them in the same office building) appear on the maps, however, my client does not. Nevertheless, this client is on G+, uses Yext, Yelp advertising, PPC with Google, etc. and as far as I'm concerned, has signed up for every other 'local' listing service of value. With that, I'm hoping you guys may be able to point me in the right direction to get my clients back on track and showing up on the Google Maps (Places) listings. Thank you all in advance for reading this, I look forward to your responses!

Local citations from business directories in other countries
Hi all, I normally work for clients in my home county (The Netherlands) and with local citation building I focus on Dutch websites or well know .com websites in the Netherlands. My rule of thumb kinda was, if it’s not known in the Netherlands it isn’t worth getting mentioned there. Since The Netherlands are pretty small and I think Google ain’t perfect I was wondering if it makes sense to list a Dutch business on any .com business listings that are internationally big, but aren’t well known in the Netherlands. Two reasons that got me thinking this direction: A big well known Dutch company offers a service such as Moz local and did integrate their service with several international business listing websites that I never heard off, since these business directories focus themselves on other parts of the world. Google ain’t perfect and I think they got more budget to identify trustworthy business directories with an international focus or a focus on America then with a focus on The Netherlands. So I’m wondering if it makes any sense to list a Dutch business on let’s say the top 20 international business directories (although these directories don’t have any brand recognition in The Netherlands).
