Can anyone help me understand why google is "Not Selecting" a large number of my webpages to include when crawling my site.
-
When looking through my google webmaster tools, I clicked into the advanced settings under index status and was surprised to see that google has marked around 90% of my pages on my site as "Not Selected" when crawling. Please take a look and offer any suggestions.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That makes so much sense. This is also the issue I am having with my communities and cities pages, pointing at my http://luxuryhomehunt.com/homes-for-sale page.
Does that make sense?

Thanks for the response. The pop up is running in java, and from what I have been told search engines can crawl pages so long as the opt in is running in java. Typically a visitor would hit one of our landing pages such as http://luxuryhomehunt.com/homes-for-sale/Longwood/alaqua-lakes.html where they can find information about the specific community they are searching for then if they click on a listing they would be prompted to opt in.
Do you think there may be any correlation to me using or not using canonical tags? Another thing I was wondering is if it has anything to do with, my handling of pages 2,3,4,5 etc of a city or community with more than ten listings.
I am not sure as to why your connection would have been refused, I am currently running a xml sitemap generator and maybe that had something to do with it. Either way, I am super grateful for your help and for you looking at this. I am very new to SEO and trying to learn my way through as much as possible.

Hmm, I just tried to click on a listing in Google but I was served a popup which required that I enter in my contact information before I could access the site http://luxuryhomehunt.com/view-property/40096215. Did you just add this pop up? Since there is no way for users to opt out of entering in contact information to view a listing, then it may be possible that the search engines are being blocked as well.
I also tried crawling the site with Screaming Frog SEO Spider and Xenu, but my connection was refused... not sure if my IP was blocked or if the site is blocking crawlers, but my guess is the search engines may be having some trouble accessing all of the pages on your site.
At the very least, I'd recommend removing that popup since it's bad for user experience and may be causing problems with the search engines.
EDIT - I did some more digging and looked the Google cache for one of your listings - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:L6LzTqj9gQUJ:luxuryhomehunt.com/view-property/40445850+&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a. On this page, you have the rel="canonical" tag set to http://luxuryhomehunt.com/view-property so that tells the search engines that all of your property listing pages should use that canonical URL, which explains why most of your pages are "Not Selected" per Google -

Can You Use More Then One Google Local Rich Snippet on a single site/ on a single page.
I am currently working on a website for a business that has multiple office locations. As I am trying to target all four locations I was wondering if it is okay to have more then one Local Rich Snippet on a single page. (For example they list all four locations and addresses within their footer and I was wondering if I could make these local rich snippets). What about having more then one on a single website. For example if a company has multiple offices located in several different cities and have set up individual contact pages for these cities, can each page have it's own Local Rich Snippet? Will Google look at these multiple "local rich snippets" as spaming or will they recognize the multiple locations and count it towards their local seo?

Help with site structure needed - any assistance welcomed!
Hi all, I am currently tasked with finding a better way to optimise our website ukdocumentstorage dot com. For starters, I would like to know what our site structure actually is at present. So I would like to be able to see which pages are linking to what at the moment & which pages have broken links on which I need to remove from the content. Hopefully I'd then be able to tidy up any errors that the site already has in its internal linking. Is there a way to do this easily? Or to have a graphical representation of the sites structure? I have just signed into our Webmaster Tools account and I am faced with a list of 10 'Crawl Errors' which are all 404 errors. Some of them do not actually exist anymore, but are still being linked to from a few pages according to WMT. For example, /industries_served_legal.htm is still being linked to from 5 of our pages (including /industries_served_local_authority.htm) However, this doesn't seem to be a case at all on the page as I can't find a link to /industries_served_legal.htm on /industries_served_local_authority.htm. Any advice as to why this is happening? Is there a way to find out easily where these broken links are situated on the page? And if I do actually manage to find our broken links, how would I go about removing them? The page /document_security.htm doesn't exist in our Sitewizard list of pages anymore, yet still exists online. How do I go about deleting this unecessary page properly? And does this harm our rankings? The document_security page also has an extra link on the top toolbar to a Document Management page, an addition which is no longer present on our up to date pages. Now this page (and the extra dropdown page when you hover over it) still exist on our list of Sitewizard pages at the moment, but we obviously no longer want to have these online anymore. How should I remove these? I understand that this is a lot of information, and so I would appreciate any help that can be given on these! Many thanks

How can I change the page title "two" (artigos/page/2.html) in each category ?
I have some categories and photo galleries that have more than one page (i.e.: http://www.buffetdomicilio.com/category/artigos and http://www.buffetdomicilio.com/category/artigos/page/2). I think that I must change the tittle and description, but I don't how. I would like to know how can I change the title of each of them without stay with duplicate title and description. Thank you! ahcAORR.jpg

Google not found errors in webmaster tool help
Hi, Google Webmaster tools sent me a few messages recently about the jump in the number of 'not found' errors. From 0 to 290 errors, ouch. I know what it's from but I think Google is seeing things. We developed another page/subdomain we're working on with links back to the root domain. Basically a complete list of articles page that lists each article and links back to the root domain. Not sure what Google is crawling but the links that would result in a 'not found' error aren't there. Will these disappear over time? Thanks for the help!

Is it a good idea to make 301 from a site which you know google has banned certain keywords for to a new site with similar content
Here is a short question re. 301. I read Dovers article on how to move an old domain to a new one. Say you have been a little inexperienced regarding linkbuilding and used some cheap service in the past and you have steadily seen that certain keywords have been depreciating in the SERP - however the PR is still 3 for the domain - now the qustion is should you rediect with a 301 in .htaccess to a new domain when you know that google does not like certain keywords with respect to the old site. Will the doom and gloom carry over to the new site?

Google crawl index issue with our website...
Hey there. We've run into a mystifying issue with Google's crawl index of one of our sites. When we do a "site:www.burlingtonmortgage.biz" search in Google, we're seeing lots of 404 Errors on pages that don't exist on our site or seemingly on the remote server. In the search results, Google is showing nonsensical folders off the root domain and then the actual page is within that non-existent folder. An example: Google shows this in its index of the site (as a 404 Error page): www.burlingtonmortgage.biz/MQnjO/idaho-mortgage-rates.asp The actual page on the site is: www.burlingtonmortgage.biz/idaho-mortgage-rates.asp Google is showing the folder MQnjO that doesn't exist anywhere on the remote. Other pages they are showing have different folder names that are just as wacky. We called our hosting company who said the problem isn't coming from them... Has anyone had something like this happen to them? Thanks so much for your insight!

I have both a ".net" and a ".com" address for the Same Website.....
I have mysite.net and mysite.com......They are both the same age, however, we always had it so that the mysite.com address forwarded to the mysite.net address. The mysite.net address was our main address forever. We recently reversed that and made the mysite.com address the main address and just have mysite.net forward to the mysite.com address. I'm wondering if this change will affect our rankings since a lot of the backlinks we've acquired are actually pointing to mysite.net and not mysite.com (our new main address)???
