I have both a ".net" and a ".com" address for the Same Website.....
-
I have mysite.net and mysite.com......They are both the same age, however, we always had it so that the mysite.com address forwarded to the mysite.net address. The mysite.net address was our main address forever.
We recently reversed that and made the mysite.com address the main address and just have mysite.net forward to the mysite.com address.
I'm wondering if this change will affect our rankings since a lot of the backlinks we've acquired are actually pointing to mysite.net and not mysite.com (our new main address)???

Also make sure you 301 redirect every page of the old site to its counterpart on the new .com site. So many people just redirect their home page but forget about the rest or don't know how to do it right. And you don't just want all your old pages redirecting to the new home page. Every page should go to it's .com counterpart. Make sure that is going on and that will help you avoid losing too much in the rankings.
-
Yes, you'll almost certainly lose some rankings for a while.
301 redirects do lose some of their value (and I hope you've done that already) and you'll take a knock while the search engines figure out what's going on.
Since it's all done you should start building new links to the new URL as soon as possible.
-
Well if you 301 redirected the mysite.net to themysite.com then the links will use value, I have heard they lose somewhere around 5% of their value to the redirected domain.

Schema Address Question
I have a local business with a contact page that I want to add schema markup to. However, I was wondering if having the address with schema info on the contact page instead of the home page has any adverse effects on the rich snippet showing up in search. There's no logical place to add schema for a local business on the home page, so having it on the contact page—not in the footer or sidebar—is the only option.

Your opinions re nSphere.net and Bloomreach.com
What nSphere does is they create pages on a subdomain of your existing domain local.example.com they create static pages (product listing) targeting specific searches of specific locations. local.example.com/air-jordans-in-san-francisco-california.htm

local.example.com/nokia-lumia-products-in-chicago-illinois.htm
etc. What Bloomreach does is they create static pages (product listing) on a subfolder of your existing domain example.com/th/nokia-lumia.htm
example.com/th/white-samsung-galaxy-s3.htm
etc. basically they create pages that they think is similar to what the site is offering. Do you think the pages created by them will cause our site to be penalized in the long run for having too many thin static pages? From my undestanding Google Panda penalizes poor quality pages and I appreciate your opinion guys if what their doing will eventually do harm to our site. Maybe there are members here who have actually used their service who can testify if bloomreach or sphere is worth the investment/risk. Thanks!0 -
Google is Showing Website as "Untitled"
My freelance designer made some changes to my website and all of a sudden my homepage was showing the title I have in Dmoz. We thought maybe the NOODP tag was not correct, so we edited that a little and now the site is showing as "Untitled". The website is http://www.chemistrystore.com/. Of course he didn't save an old copy that we can revert to. That is a practice that will end. I have no idea why the title and description that we have set for the homepage is not showing in google when it previously was. Another weird thing that I noticed is that when I do ( site:chemistrystore.com ) in Google I get the https version of the site showing with the correct title and description. When I do ( site:www.chemistrystore.com ) in Google I don't have the hompage showing up from what I can tell, but there are 4,000+ pages to the site. My guess is that if it is showing up, it is showing up as "Untitled". My question is.... How can we get Google to start displaying the proper title and description again?
