Google+ for Business Links Section - Not Available
-
I haven't found any documentation on this - curious if anyone's noticed that Google+ Local Listings (i.e. brick-n-mortar shops) don't have access to a Links section like a "brand" page might? Seems strange not to let them link out to their social media assets while Coke and Ford have that privilege.
I wonder why?
Thanks!

Hi Perfect Pitch Concepts,
I'm so sorry your question hasn't received a reply. Looks like no one may have noticed this about Google+ Local vs Brand pages. You're supposed to be able to link out from the description with rich text, but my understanding is that it can take longer to get verified if you do.
Now, with the launch of the new Google My Buisiness, who knows! Google is definitely narrowing the gap between Local and Social page types, so I expect all kinds of changes to be going on with things just like this.

Hi!
Yeah, it would be great but I guess they have their reasons.
This never became a problem for me though as I would just insert the links into the Contact Information area. It's moderated but they aren't really strict

Indexed by Google but only ranking in Bing and Yahoo
I have a website nativeamericanpalmhut.com that has been up and running for months. The sitemap was created and submitted in GWMT and the site was indexed pretty quickly. Here's where I'm lost all of the pages are indexed but only the homepage ranks and only for the exact match domain query "Native American Palm Huts". What's even more confusing is that Google Analytics and HotJar Analytics are both showing hundreds Google organic search traffic coming to the site on multiple pages (not just the homepage). This on top of the fact the that website is ranking well for several different terms in Bing and Yahoo lead me to believe this is a Google search specific problem. I have checked the backlinks to see if maybe there was a penalty on the domain but couldn't find any record of it. I've searched the Moz Q&As, Countless Google forums, etc with no luck. I'm scratching my head at the moment so if anyone has any ideas on what could be causing the problem that would be great.

Local Search - Google Mobile Results (Web&App)
Hi, I have a client with multiple locations. One of the locations manager is searching for branded and non-branded keywords on his mobile phone and not able to locate the business (within the parking lot of the location). Our ranking reports via a local search platform and manual checks indicate the location is actually ranking well. and we're seeing progress in GA. Has anyone deal with something like this before? This is a location that recently opened to the public. The concern is around mobile web and app results. I'm looking for some guidance around how to approach the situation. I'm sorry I cannot provide more details on the client.

Google updates... keeping with times?
We know about Panda... Penguin... Hummingbird... but I heard another major update is going to happen. Where do you find out the google updates ahead of time? Maybe a stupid question.

Creating an internal link network of clients
I am working with 9 different clients/websites. The websites can be grouped into 2-3 categories, for example, 3 of the websites are related to "Tattoos", another 3 are related to "Local contracting services" Would it be beneficial to create a "Sponsors" page for every website where I write a mini-article of each client and link to them? In other words, every website will have a backlink from the other 8. I already spoke to every client and they are willing to do this, as long as the link to the "Sponsors" page is only accessible in the footer nav. I can't see this hurting the rankings of the sites, but I am not sure if it's better to only include the websites that are categorized the same, or I should include every website.

Google Business Details on the SERP
Good morning, We've recently launched Pea Soup Digital, a new UK-based digital agency. However, when you search 'pea soup digital' in Google, the business info doesn't appear on the right-hand-side of the SERP. But when you search 'peasoup digital' it appears? Our Google+ and business account have the name registered as separate words - Pea Soup Digital - so why is Google doing this? It's not the end of the world, but slightly annoying. Is there anything we can do? There's also an issue of our privacy policy page ranking above the home page. I know it's early days (1 week), so Google might be sorting itself out, but I guess we could add this page to the robots.txt file? Cheers, Lewis

How many websites in Google Serps
Let say you are an electrician. You have a website in Google Serps After much deliberation you realise that the current domain name is giving the wrong signals to your potential customers. So you decide to rebrand to a new domain name. The new domain will have fresh content (no duplication). Question

Can you have both instances live in Google Serps and eventually retire the current website via a 301 redirect to the new domain. Thanks Mark0 -
If you have a product on your site that's only available in the US, is there a way to avoid it leading to a 404 error if a user in Canada accesses it?
A client has some products on their site that are only available in Canada. When a user in the US accesses the product listing, it results in a 404 error page. Are there any work-arounds for something like this? Thanks in advance!
