Why does the Moz Tool Bar show code as HTML text for my site?
-
When I run my site in the Moz Tool bar, all of the page elements are read correctly except for HTML text.
Sample page: http://www.lifeionizers.com/blog/alkaline-water/electrolyzed-reduced-water
Instead of the text on that page, the tool shows Javascript code:
/*
With a very high character count for text (14,247).

We have a partial victory! The Moz Bar works on the blog, but it appears we have a problem with a noscript script on other pages of the site, such as the homepage. The Moz On Page grader works for blog pages now as well. Before this fix, it was showing all F's, no matter how well optimized the page was.
Thanks!

Hey,
I took a closer look at your page and it looks like what's happening is that you had a Facebook Script snippet in your body.
I used Chrome's Dev tools to move the script from the body to the end of the head and Mozbar is showing proper words now: http://goo.gl/Zpcwme
It's important to note that I'm not a Javascript developer, so I don't know if there was an explicit reason to have that code there. Generally scripts will need to go in the head tag or on a separate page and referenced. You'd want to confer with your dev team on this to make sure that's a viable solution for you.
But that is what's going on.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Joel. -
I removed the Javascript comments but it didn't fix the problem. The Moz Bar now shows the same line of code without the comment code:
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsB...

Hi Karasd,
Thanks for writing in. Looks like the MozBar crawler isn't quite smart enough to figure out some of the code on the page, specifically this snippet:

Accuracy of Moz Keyword Tool
I understand that no search tool is entirely accurate, but I'm seriously beginning to doubt the accuracy of the Moz keyword tool search volumes for keywords. For example: I entered "largest police departments" and it says 0-10 per month in the US, despite the fact that that term is directly responsible for 200 hits per day. Many alterations of that keyword come up with 0-10 or not determined. This is not a small error -- and it repeats over and over for other search terms that I have already ranked for in the US. It's gigantically inaccurate in a massive scale.

Strange insight "tracked keywords" from Moz
Hi there, I was wondering if somebody is seeying the same problem. Since a couple of days i got a new keyword insights in my mail and i've seen some strange things for two accounts. The branded keywords are dropped lower then position 51. The thing is that i got an insight, i checked it in my private mode and the branded keywords are still there. Other keywords are still ranking, and there is no effect on my traffic. There is no connection between the sites. One has a couple of links and the other a lot. One has a very good page with nice optimalisation and the other has no text. So it couldn't be over-optimalisation and incoming links...

How does the grader tool treat keyword "stuffing" in ecommerce
We recently started using Moz on our ecommmerce site because I'm concerned that our SEO company doesn't really know what they are doing and I want to see what I can do on my own with the little bit of knowledge I have. It's helping in a number of ways but here's a big question mark: The Grader Tool keeps telling us that our product category pages have too many keywords on them. We are only using them in the content once or twice, but the sub-category buttons on the page show the category + sub repeated. Could this be what's causing it? Does Google distinguish this for ecommerce? We've taken a huge hit in rankings for key phrases and keywords over the past six months and I'm wondering if this is part of it?

Issues adding keywords to MOZ analytics
Hi All 🙂 I've started a couple of campaigns in MOZ Analytics, one accepts keywords the other looks like it does but doesn't actually add them.. I'm pasting a group of keywords, about 30, all separated with comma's. Doing exactly the same to one account that congratulated me straight away and added them to the list below, yay! The other shows the spinning wheel for a few seconds and does nothing further, I've waited a good 24 hours and they keywords have not appeared. Any help appreciated! Thanks 🙂

What is the best tool to track US positions from the UK?
We are currently tracking the rankings of a US-based client (we are UK-based) and it appears we are seeing some considerable differences in positions. To check ranks we often use Fat Rank which can be set to a US-based search and a manual search on Google.com. However, our American client is receiving different results (actually higher positions than we have recorded!) and is claiming to have used both a manual check on Google.com and the following tool.

http://smallseotools.com/keyword-position/ Would anybody be able to tell me how accurate this tool is regarding US-based positions?
We’ve since made use of the tool too and it adheres to the rankings that the US-based client is claiming – rather than our checks using Fat Rank and Google.com.0
