How do you tell SEOmoz to ignore a subdomain?
-
We have a subdomain that I don't want to show up in our root SEOmoz campaign. How do I tell SEOmoz to ignore it?
-
Hi John,
You'll want to enter the www.example.com in the campaign, so we crawl JUST the www subdomain. We don't often think of it this way, but www is a subdomain.
-
That is actually what I want. How is that done?
-
Hi John,
Thanks for the question.
Unfortunately though, there is no way to have one campaign specifically ignore a single subdomain and still crawl all other subdomains. It would be possible to set two subdomain campaigns if your site was set as such:
www.example.com
blog.example.comBut anything outside of either of those subdomains would not be touched.
Thanks,
Joel. -
Ah, misunderstood you. I don't think what you are trying to do is possible but you should ask someone who works for SEOMoz to confirm.
-
But I want the subdomain to be craweled, just under a different SEOmoz campaign. Blocking it in the robots.txt file will prevent that.
-
Well the subdomain should have its own folder where you can create you own robots.txt file for. That would only block the subdomain from being crawled.
If you don't have a separate folder, check out this Q&A.
-
That would prevent SEOmoz from crawling it completely. I don't want that. I want the subdomain to be crawled under a different campaign. I want the data for the subdomain, but the number of pages is much greater than the root domain, and is just a lot of noise when looking at the root domain. It's drowning it out. SEOmoz has no option to control this?
-
You can block the SEOmoz spider via robots.txt on the subdomain

User-agent: rogerbot Disallow: /

Is there a way to get this from an api or a better method than pasting 5 keywords at a time into the keyword difficulty tool to get these numbers?

For SEOMoz Staff - Can You Make a Better Referral Badge, PLEASE?
I am going to send referrals to SEOMOZ and I want to put a badge on my site with my referral link from this page: http://www.seomoz.org/users/referrals Can you make some banners where we can just select an image src with a call to action like "FREE SEO Tools" and "Free 30 Day Trail"? Currently the only badges I see say something wack like "I Love SEOMOZ" http://www.seomoz.org/dp/badges I need something that converts higher than "I love SEOmoz". Love yah guys!

SEOMoz Campaigns: Bulk management / deletion of keywords?
For the SEOMoz campaign tool, how do you manage / delete / export keywords in bulk? We have several hundred keywords and need to delete some efficiently from a campaign. I see how you can delete words from one page of the list, but is there a way to combine the keywords with ranking or traffic data to stack-rank, and than delete the "least valuable"? Tough to manage in bulk

Is SEOMoz better than Traffic Travis ?
I've been trying both programs for the free trial and I'm not sure which one is exactly better. they seem to me that both give a similar asepct of research, However SEOMOZ seems to be updating more frequntly. On the seconnd hand, traffic travis is way more cheaper only $97 one time fee as apposed to SEOMoz $100 per month Could someone convince me SEOMOZ is the better tool?

SEOMOZ Competitive Domain Analysis
Hi, I am just trying to get to the bottom of why I am seeing such wildly different figures in the SEOMOZ link analysis. The SEO company that we use is saying that we have around 331 external links to our website, when I check on Yahoo site explorer, it returns 264 external links, but in my SEOMOZ campaign manager, it says I have 4 external links? I fully appreciate that none of these methods are going to be wholly accurate, and are going to produce different results, but I can't understand why the SEOMOZ results are so vastly different. I also know for a fact there are a number of Followed links that I have added to a couple of websites, that Google has now indexed (as they appear in search results), but don't appear in the campaign manager results. If SEOMOZ use a different method to assess an external link, then no problem - my main concern here is that as a Newbie I am doing something wrong within the SEOMOZ tools, and don't want to take action based on results that may be incorrect because I have set things up incorrectly? Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Gareth

Why am I still Unranked in SEOmoz?
I was very active in SEOmoz's Q&A forums today and completed my profile - raising my Moz points from 0 to 50. On my profile, however, I am still listed as Unranked. Also, I do not appear on the SEOmoz Top Members List next to other users with 50 points. I'm guessing this is something that is updated once a day or so, and the rank will update tomorrow. Is my suspicion correct?
