My home page has an "A" rank in Moz and not ranking in Google.
-
My home page recently dropped from page one in Google to not being ranked for my top keyword. The page has an "A" ranking in MOZ for the keyword. Is there a way to find out the cause. I did have what looked like a duplicate page for a while 3 months ago when a domain was forwarding to my home page incorrectly. Appeared with second domain name instead of primary. Our business has been 95% through internet leads so quite an issue. Is there anyway to find out what is going on.

Hi Fred,
Sorry to hear about your problems, you're not the first and certainly won't be the last. In my opinion, your backlinks are looking quite spammy. When I look at your profile using Open Site Explorer there are quite a few directories in there and press release websites, both of which have been hit recently, devaluing the links from them.
It does sound like you've been hit with a algorithm penalty (because Google will tell you about any manual penalties in Webmaster Tools). Your anchor text isn't too bad as you've got the brand in almost all of them the websites that you have links on have very little authority and won't be helping you to rank at all. You need a content strategy implementing and to find some bloggers/website with real connections to talk to, that way you will get some brand exposure, put your service in front of real people who may actually use Martha's and in turn, help you rank better.

Do you know of services other than MOZ that could help determine cause. Fairly new copy and one MOZ report said not enough keyword.

"Over exposure of PPC" is not a thing.. Google will never penalize you for spending too much
So that's not your problem. You have a lot of bots disallowed in your robots but I don't see google bot out.. Ahrefs is out but they're still reporting you have the vast majority of anchor text phrases being the exact term you're looking to rank for... That's dangerous, and just the type of thing the Penguin algorithm looks for. I'd work on a wider array of branded anchor phrases and less keyword-rich like that one.
You might just be in tough competition also. But since you so suddenly disappeared something tells me there's more to the story.
If it were me, I'd start picking away at that anchor phrase issue but focus on getting some content created. Put a blog on your domain and start coming up with awesome articles and insight... Something people will find interesting and want to share.
Sorry my advice is non-specific.. Full-disclosure I'm totally distracted by the World Cup Final at the moment

Right now I am doing all SEO myself. Most of our backlinks are through online display ads. My web host has advised that over exposure of Goolge PPC night be the problem because it does not record as a backlink.

The domain is www.mvbuyeragents.com. The keyword in question is "Martha's Vineyard Real Estate". There are no crawl errors in Webmaster Tools. Site map about 95% indexed. Other keywords and other pages are ranking pretty well. In the early days of Google there were some problems with titles that include an apostrophe but seems to have passed. For several months Google was seeing marthasvineyardluxuryhomes.com as having all duplicate content. That has been resolved. I attempted to correct some duplication with a canonical but does not seem to be any support to see if done correctly or not. Submitted site map. No errors found.
Thank you for any help.

Yes we'd really need to see the site to give you a good idea of the issues but it does sound like a penalty of some sort. If you were on page 1 and then dropped off the face of the Google there's a good chance you were hit.
As Keri said, check webmaster tools for notices. Also share with us your link building strategy. Do you handle it yourself? Do you sub your SEO out?
Most of all the domain will help.

If you're able to share your site with us, that can make things a lot easier. Have you check in Google Webmaster Tools for any notices about your site, whether a penalty, or notice that certain pages aren't able to be crawled? Have there been any code changes lately? Any server unavailability? Are other pages still ranking? Could there be an incorrect canonical on the page in question?

Why does moz give different page authority to the same page if a visit comes from adwords vs organic search?
When clicking on an adwords ad the page the landing page has a page authority of 26. When clicking on organic search to the same exact landing page the page authority is 37. Why is this. Does moz or, more importantly Google see these as the same or separate pages? Thanks Tom

Domain authority get down significantly. Internal MOZ Issue? Google Algoritm Update?
I've noticed that several websites have lost DA since middle of october. I attached a picture. Could be this a MOZ internal issue like happened a time ago? Not only the DA get down, I have lost C-blocks links, too

F rated page appearing higher than A rated page
Hi, We have a page that we have optimised in the MOZ system and got a grade A for the term "Dental Implants Wolverhampton" The page that has been optimised isn't being indexed in google http://www.perfectdental.eu.com/treatments-implants.php However, this page http://www.perfectdental.eu.com/uk-clinics-dental-team.php Which hasn't been optimised is indexed 11. If i run this page through the MOZ "on-page checker" it receives a quality score of F. Its very confusing, would be great to hear from anyone with any ideas? Thanks

Using MOZ Keyword Rankings with Google Analytics in Excel to track paid keywords
Hi, I sorted my keywords in GA from highest incoming traffic to lowest, exported it and then imported these 280 or something keywords into SEO Moz. The problem is, it appears that SEO Moz Keyword Rankings tool pulls traffic data (in the traffic column) only for NON-PAID traffic ... So what I'm seeing is that keywords that brings A LOT of traffic to my site (because of AdWords) sometimes have 0 of traffic in SEO Moz, because I'm on page 3 of SERP and I literally got no non-paid traffic that week. The thing is: I want to improve my rankings for keywords that I'm already performing well, even if they are paid keywords, because they already bring me a lot of traffic to my website. The way this is working is not helping me out, because when I sort by the traffic column very important keywords end up in the last place for me. Questions: Whey does SEO Moz pull traffic data from non-paid keywords only ? Shouldn't be at least an option for this or I'm missing something here ? While they don't change it, any Excel Gurus could help me how to export SEO Moz ranking data, import it on Excel and MERGE a new "paid traffic" column that I export from Google Analytics ? How to assing each keyword line the paid traffic value I'm getting from GA ? Thanks ! Felipe

Ultimate Ranking Tool integrating Analytics / Adwords / Google WM Tools
I currently use SEOMOZ Campaigns and Advanced Web Ranking for monitoring our KW rankings and those of competition. AWR is a brilliant tool with so many different reports, methods of viewing etc. SEOMOZ campaigns are good but don't come close to the monitoring power of AWR (EG I monitor over 50 competitors on over 1000 KW's on a Daily basis with AWR and recieve a variety of set emailed reports on the data). However, one thing that SEOMOZ campaigns have that is useful is the traffic data - but this is still a bit basic and I think could be improved. The problem with AWR is that it doesn't integrate with your Analytics / Adwords / Google WM Tools - so it is only showing you half the picture. Knowing how your site ranks for each keyword is helpful, but it would be nice to understand the value of each keyword. For example, being able to see your rank position and how much traffic that keyword has sent you over time would be helpful. It would also be nice to see the number of searches that are performed for that keyword each month . For example, lets say I saw that I was ranking at number 11 for “hover mower” and getting 500 hits per month. Two months from now, if I was ranking at position 7, it would be nice to be able to immediately see how that changed the amount of traffic I was receiving for the term. Is a position of 11 (first item on page two) better than position 10 (last item on page one)? If you can link it to your analytics, you could then link it to your goals, and goal values to get a complete picture of where your keywords rank the value of the rank, and the improvment on that value when rank changes. If browsed around for such software but can't find anything like this - does anyone know of any software that can do this - or something close to this? Many thanks

We have noticed a gap as large as 30 places when using UK Google. Interested in whether other people are seeing this and if anyone can offer an explaination. Thanks Turkey
