Why does the moz crawl test lists page twice?
-
Hi,
I'm running into an issue where some crawlers list my pages twice, once with a trailing slash, once without. I first saw it on a few pages with screaming frog, then saw it happen on all my pages with the moz crawler.
The site is www.kidsandart.org and its on Squarespace. I grepped the sitemap.xml I submitted to google webmaster and got 167 distinct pages, all of them without a trailing slash.
Any insights on why this is happening, and how to regard moz crawler results would be appreciated.
thanks
Tom

One thing to note that I forgot to mention is that SquareSpace does use rel=canonical tags on their pages. So while your reporting may be off, link juice will not be split between / and no-/ pages. This also takes care of duplicate content problems, as the tag defines the source content.

This is a problem I have encountered with SquareSpace. SS does not automatically redirect non-trailing slash pages to the trailing slash version. This creates duplicate content issues and reporting issues, as:
and
will be recorded as two separate pageviews on your reporting.
If you want to know more about why it's recorded as two separate pages, read this blog from the Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.ca/2010/04/to-slash-or-not-to-slash.html
Unfortunately this is just a problem with SS and since you can't use htaccess to redirect pages or use the built in Redirect Tool to do this, you are kind of just stuck until SS improves their system.

Limit MOZ crawl rate on Shopify or when you don't have access to robots.txt
Hello. I'm wondering if there is a way to control the crawl rate of MOZ on our site. It is hosted on Shopify which does not allow any kind of control over the robots.txt file to add a rule like this: User-Agent: rogerbot Crawl-Delay: 5 Due to this, we get a lot of 430 error codes -mainly on our products- and this certainly would prevent MOZ from getting the full picture of our shop. Can we rely on MOZ's data when critical pages are not being crawled due to 430 errors? Is there any alternative to fix this? Thanks

On-Page Grader supporting HTTPS?
Hi there, I am getting the error "Sorry, but this URL is inaccessible" on the Moz On-Page Grader. I have tested with multiple URL's but any that link to my site give the error. I have noticed my site's URL's redirect to https so my question is..is the on-page grader in-compatible with https? Cheers!

On-page Grader API?
Hi guys, I have a massive list of keywords i want to optimise against a specific URL. I'm checking them manually with the MOZ on-page grader to determine if the keyword is optimised for the URL (Grade A score). I was wondering if there is a way to pull the scores automatically for each URL with the MOZ api? Or does anyone know of any tools which can automate this process? Cheers, Chris

Duplicate Home Page in Moz Report
I recently ran a crawl report in MOZ for www.laddersfree.co.uk and it has picked duplicate pages for my home page. The two pages are www.laddersfree.co.uk and www.laddersfree.co.uk The CMS System my developer is using is Concrete5. If you look at the source code there is a Canonical <link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" href="http://www.laddersfree.co.uk/" /> I am very confused as to why there are two pages picked up in the crawl. Can someone offer any advice please? Thank you. Jason

On Page Grade - Moz Analytics
When I go to search overview I can see my on page optimization grades, but when I try to use the on page grade optimizer for different keywords and url's I get the error. "The URL you entered does not appear to be returning a page successfully. Please make sure that you've entered the URL of valid, working page." However, I know it is a valid url and I get the error even if I use the same url and same keyword I can see the grade for from the search overview. Also, if I try to regrade the page nothing happens and where my previous grade and analysis was located I now have nothing. Any information about why this is happening? Thanks for the help.
